Lord of the Rings, The Chronicles of Narnia, Joshua, The Horse Whisperer, Sleepless in Seattle and You've Got Mail, An Affair to Remember, Buona Sera Mrs.Campbell, Romantic Comedies. Love all of Audrey Hepburn's films. I particularly love the older movies ... the way they used to make 'em! Bing Crosby, Frank Sinatra, Marilyn Monroe (Some Like it Hot - one of my all-time favourites!), Grace Kelly, Shirley Maclaine, Cary Grant ... the list could go on and on! I don't like horror films or anything which contains violence or a whole heap of bad language.

All kinds (except Rap and Heavy Metal) - love classical music, traditional jazz, ballads, Celtic-type music ... love Liam Lawton's music (he writes a lot of religious songs, usually with a Celtic flavour and they're absolutely beautiful), also Andrew Lloyd Weber compositions. Singers - love Bing Crosby, Nat King Cole, Louis Armstrong, Ella Fitzgerald, Frank Sinatra, Pavarotti and Placido Domingo also Neil Diamond, the Carpenters, Leonard Cohen and Bob Dylan ..... some of the modern singers I like are Susan Boyle, Michael Buble, Il Divo, Josh Groban ... there's quite a few modern singers I like.

Everything by C.S. Lewis ... that'll do for a start! Tolkien, Oscar Wilde, Mark Twain, Charles Dickens, Shakespeare (of course!), Elizabeth Goudge, Chicken Soup for the Soul series, ooh.. and of course I nearly forgot Chekov!! Once upon a time it was blue ... now it seems that every colour is my favourite ... I just love Colour! But to wear - definitely Pink ... it's the most flattering colour for me and I love it.

I’m Marianne, married to John for the past 53 years. We have four children (can’t really call them that as they’re all grown up!!) and five grandchildren.

I was born in Kolkata (Calcutta) India and have lived in India, England and Africa, and in 1974 we emigrated to Ireland. I am totally of Irish blood, and my family originally come from Cork, on both sides (as far as I know). And now I'm back full circle! We live in County Mayo in the West of Ireland since the end of 1991, a beautiful part of the country but, unfortunately, the weather could be a lot better!! John retired as the resident Organist and Director of Sacred Music at Knock Shrine, after almost 20 years in the job.

In October 2007 I retired from my work with a wonderful Association which cares for people with learning disabilities.

God (well I Love Him!), my Family and Friends (Love them too) Animals (and them!), Travel (particularly back to Africa), Computer Graphics, Art.. often I just like to meditate quietly and admire nature: sunsets, the stars (get a wonderful view of them here - except when we're covered with clouds, which is pretty often!) .... admiring all of God's unbelievably beautiful creation! I like people who are kind and compassionate to others and to our fellow creatures, the animals. I love someone with a good sense of humour - mine can be a bit wacky sometimes!

I hate cruelty or violence in any shape or form. I also cannot tolerate racism and discrimination for whatever reason. I don't care whether a person is white, black, brown, gay or straight or whatever! I am Christian but, whether you are Christian, Jewish, Moslem, Bhuddist, Hindu .. or athiest, you are welcome to be my friend! Everyone is entitled to their beliefs and the world would be such a wonderful place if there were not so many prejudices against other religions. We are all human beings and worthy to be treated equally and with dignity. I love animals – and believe that they too are worthy of our respect as fellow creatures and deserve to be treated with compassion.

Computer graphics and making friends around the world.. One of my interests is ministering a prayer site on the internet but I also have a site where people can request prayers for their pets and this site actually gets more “hits” than the people prayer site.
