I was born and raised in Michigan but was transplanted to Ohio in 1995. My husband retired last autumn (2013) and we are happily back in Michigan. We have been married nearly 47 years and have two sons in their early 40's. The oldest lives in Napa, CA and has a wife and son. The other is newly married and lives about 2 miles from us in Michigan, for which I am eternally grateful. I am a semi-invalid, more or less housebound except for short jaunts in the car or to eat out. I love nature ... I just don't like to be IN it! After a stroke and carotid surgery three years ago this summer, my body no longer likes the cold ... I am constantly freezing! My husband also had a stroke about two weeks after mine and he is now never cold ... he used to never be warm!! We have reversed roles and believe me it affords never ending chuckles!
He is my best friend, the love of my life and we'd be lost without each other. I thank the Good Lord for allowing both of us to come through the summer of 2011 alive and with minimal damage and for being able to move back home to be near our son.
