BLOGS: A blog, simply put, is something you have written, or written about.

We have a forum you can post pictures, recipes or jokes you want to share; these are not considered blogs and will be removed. On the other hand, for example, a recipe with a story about a recipe that has special meaning would be fine. Greetings to others, thank you's, etc. are not considered blogs and will be removed.

Any concerns may be addressed to Admin by using the Contact Us link found at the bottom of each page. Blog Rules can be found in Terms & Conditions link at the bottom of each page.

Gooseberries, Goldenrod, and a Gaggle of Geese
Posted On 01/04/2016 17:35:33 by yourchoice
When it comes time for me to think about a topic for my next blog in this A to Z Challenge, I often get out old photograph albums for some ideas. I love to read blogs written by others who write about their experiences, both current and in times past. I'm hoping that Barb (kiwibarb) will write to tell us how they celebrate Christmas without snow, and what Santa wears and travels in when it is hot outside. I'd love to visit New Zealand, but so far, that destination is still on our 'bucket list'.N... Read More

S - The Season for Songs, Stars, Shepherds, and the Saviour
Posted On 10/07/2015 23:46:01 by yourchoice
As much as I am enjoying the autumn colors as we are travelling, through the mountains, and near the ocean, I can't help but be reminded that winter will soon be here. Our decorations will change from pumpkins, colored leaves, and harvest grains to red cranberries, evergreen trees, and a jolly guy who goes by the name of Santa, when he works at the Mall. The month of December is probably the busiest month of the year, if you have family and business commitments. School concerts, office par... Read More

I - Irresistible IHOP
Posted On 08/26/2015 00:24:59 by yourchoice
We have done a lot of travelling, visiting family or experiencing the adventure of new destinations. For years, my favorite dining place has been the International House of Pancakes, better known as IHOP. No matter where we find that restaurant, we know that the food is consistently fresh and delicious. The salads are fresh, the meals are like "down-home"! But I have to admit that my favorite meal, no matter the time of day, is breakfast. The variety of waffles, French toast, pancakes, cre... Read More

MY STORY ANd IM STICKING TO IT
Posted On 03/21/2015 12:54:18 by Notgrnyyet

We ate what we grew in the 50's and 60's. Bought flour, meal, sugar, and other staples at a store when needed. Everything was made from scratch and it was all oh so good. Meat, eggs, milk, butter and the like also tasted better than it does now. Chicken was fried in Mamas big iron skillet in hog lard. We ate lots of bacon and eggs and all the salt and grease our hearts desired. Unhealthy? Thats what they say now. Hey! I'm 70 and... Read More

What's to Celebrate?
Posted On 03/12/2015 08:23:18 by yourchoice
It didn't take long for our class to come up with any excuse to have a celebration. We didn't have much money but we sure could have a lot of fun. We would celebrate the end of exam week, the end of a night shift, the end of a happy date, and not to mention anyone's birthday (no cake available, but we had a great supply of cinnamon toast decked with at least one wooden match). Any of us could expect to come home after a day off and find a note taped on our door, asking, "Did you bring back anyth... Read More
