BLOGS: A blog, simply put, is something you have written, or written about.

We have a forum you can post pictures, recipes or jokes you want to share; these are not considered blogs and will be removed. On the other hand, for example, a recipe with a story about a recipe that has special meaning would be fine. Greetings to others, thank you's, etc. are not considered blogs and will be removed.

Words... treasured or ignored?
Posted On 02/12/2020 16:06:12 by yourchoice
Many of my cyber-friends know that I’m not much for watching TV. I love music, and I love to learn new stuff, so I am a fan of YouTube. Politics is something that I won’t discuss if at all possible. So much of what is on TV is focused, either directly or indirectly, to current trends and politics, peppered with antagonistic, hurtful, and unsubstantiated accusations.  I’m a Canadian, living in an area that apparently produces ‘dirty oil’. Maybe they meant to say that oil makes you... Read More

Special Delivery

Now days mail delivery is a little different. I still get my mail from my mail box. I also get notification of its arrival through my email. I got such a notification through email for a letter from a friend of mine. I went to the mail box after the time the mail usually arrived. Nothing, but my neighbors mail. I thought that was curious.  I’ve had some extra time this past week to do different things, some that I put off for a long time, and some were experiments that I’ve thought about before, but didn’t have any “spare” time. It has been very cold in our area… some claiming that there were a few record lows in the past century. Of course, there are always some who will complain if it is only two degrees below freezing, or raining on their planned day for travelling, or shopping, or any other outdoor activity,... Here Come the 20s!

This week has been a mixture of busy, busy, and quiet hours in my favorite chair. Christmas Day was wonderful, even though there were several grands who were missing, either because they had to work, or they were invited by their “significant other” to celebrate with their family. We do know that they still love us and will show up on our doorstep when the opportunity presents itself. As for the Christmas Dinner… I wasn’t disappointed. There was a pile of mashed potatoes with gravy, cran... Read More

The Irony of Life
Posted On 07/17/2018 23:37:06 by yourchoice
There are times that a topic for a Blog pops in my mind in the middle of the night when I should be sleeping. That’s what happened a couple of days ago, after a news release in our area, that involved a long time friend of mine. It brought back memories of long ago, and how we’ve kept in touch as much as possible. When I was just four years old, my maternal grandfather gave me a piano and also paid for my first year of piano lessons. My parents were so very pleased with the gift and made ever... Read More
