Rushing the season!
Posted On 09/22/2018 09:35:47 by Altara33606

I don't believe it. We've already seen some 'Christmas' decorations out in stores! Now, I love Christmas--and decorating; but this is ridiculous.  It's only September!

Personally, I think the 'start' of the month of a holiday is plenty of time to start decorating for it, specially if the holiday is near the end of the month. I don't even want to think about Christmas decorating till Thanksgiving is over.  By the time mid-December gets here, we'll all be tired of hearing about it!

Speaking for all the children born in a Holiday month , mine being December, I totally agree. I come from a large family dynamic . All my cousins not born in December had their special day. It was their time . Their parents, Aunts and uncles saw to it. But For us born in December they always ran thanksgiving , Christmas , our birthdays together. Everyone was either getting ready for thanksgiving or getting over it. My day is the 8th so that was tree cutting day for most of the families . I got Happy  birthday Merry Chritmas From thanksgiving all the way to New Year's Eve

they would say " Just in cae i forgot.

And sadly by December 26, they will have Valentines stuff out. I worked in retail (advertising) over 30 yrs ago. It was always the same then..rush ad copy, mdse, and prep way ahead of time. The days, weeks, months, and years were a blur. Fall, Thanksgiving, and Christmas mdse is already up at area stores here. It all comes down to greed and profit..nothing about the season or holiday.. I miss the nostalgia from years gone by.

I love love love Christmas but I agree with ya Altara.  My sister in law and I went to Hobby Lobby about 3 weeks ago to look at some of the new Fall items, and what did I see when I walked in the door?  You got it, Christmas decorations winking, blinking, and nodding at me.  Crafty little store owners trying to temp us Christmas lovers.  I told my sister in law to slap my hand if I picked anything up, LOL.  I will be honest however, the other day I walked into a store and low and behold, a beautiful Christmas Moose!  I'm sorry but I HAD to have it.  I love it and I hid it in my closet so no one would see I caved, LOL.  Only my best friend has seen it as I snappd a pic real quick and sent to her.  I will get him back out soon and show him to ya.  He is just so dog gone it cute!!

Boo, gobble gobble, ho ho ho everyone.
