The Battle Of A Century! Only You Know The Outcome?
Posted On 03/06/2020 21:16:29 by Allen

Ok, tonight it's a real barn burner as it's another battle of the artists! Neil Diamond vs Tom Petty! So who's your favorite artist? This could be a hard one? I, myself , love both artists as they both have a pile of top ten hits! Even the deep cuts are awesome! Neil Diamond has hits such as Solitary Man, Sweet Caroline, Cracklin' Rose, Song Sung Blue, I Am...I Said, Forever In Blue Jeans, America, Love On The Rocks and Heartlight just to name a few! Now Tom Petty is no slouch either in the hit department as he has had Breakdown, Don't Do Me Like That, Refugee, Stop Draggin' My Heart Around, Free Fallin', Mary Jane's Last Dance, I Won't Back Down and Learning To Fly just to name a few!

If I had to pick I would give the sentimental vote to Tom Petty as he has died and he is forever missed! Even though Neil Diamond has Parkinson's Disease in this stage of his life...after all he is 79 years young, I will still vote for Petty! Who do you like in this lineup? Entice me!

Too hard for me to pick one Allen, I love them both.  I will say however, I developed a real crush on Neil after watching the move, "The Jazz Singer" years ago.  I know, I am a romantic crazy woman, LOL.

Hey Greg...I don't blame you one bit...they both are awesome!  I love that song by Petty you chose...I actually forgot about it!  Tom Petty always has said that Stop Draggin' my Heart Around released at the same time from Stevie Nicks album killed it's chart potental and hated that!

****Tom Petty....****  Really grew to enjoy his music in the 80's. Neil is a class act, no doubt ..just watched an interview he did on 60 minutes (youtube) a few days ago. Prob a rerun, but was interesting. My favorite songs Neil Diamond - Love on the Rocks.. Tom Petty - Stop Draggin My heart around..Thanks for the memories -:)

Tough choice. I don't think I can pick one. They are both great and lots of hit songs. I will say this, here's my favorite songs by each one:
Cherry Cherry by Neil Diamond
She's A Woman In Love by Tom Petty

Thank you so much Mona as I respect everything you write to me!  Those Neil Diamond Cds or music hit songs are what make the world go around!  My first album by him was called Beautiful Noise and loved every song from it!  Now Tom Petty is good but Neil Diamond has it on him...I think?  Although I love me some Tom Petty and The heartbreakers every once in awhile!

Surprise, surprise... this time I know a bit of what you are presenting. We have several Neil Diamond CDs that were often played in our vehicle when we were travelling. I guess my vote would be for Neil, being that I don't know anything about the music of Tom Petty.

Allen, I hope you had a great week, and now ready to enjoy some "down" time.
