I've been trying to get all my writing organized. Yesterday I sat down and read a number of 'story starts', several of which were only one page! One was 2.5 chapters. What is annoying: I have no idea what the 'plot' was supposed to be on most of them. So I can't imagine being able to go on with them. I've got 3 more I want to read today.
One funny thing: I absolutely refuse to read the 'new' genre which I'm finding a lot of at Amazon, where the 'hero/heroine' is a 'shifter'. Everything from wolves, lions, cats, bears, to rabbits and owls! But I found one of my 'starts' had a 'dog' that changed back into a human--well, an alien 'humanoid' that is. Ha. That was many, many years before it became a genre! Yes--I know you're thinking: 'You have aliens on the brain!'
But I just found one 'story' which seems to be about a teenage rock band! And yes...obviously written when I was a young teen. Of course, the drummer was the heroine's boyfriend, lol. Hmm...I don't know if I got this idea because my brother played guitar (but not in a band) or if it was because I had a crush on someone in a band when I started high school: I do recognize the one song they play in the story--California Sun, which the group at my high school also played!
I have to admit, it's fun reading these 'starts'--and wondering what I had planned when I wrote them.
