More than you might want to know as I tend to ramble...
I still live in the same home my husband and I bought in 1964...Ideally situated for a retiree..
1/2 a block to a U shaped shopping mall with a great selection of stores. Grocery, drugstore, pub, hairdresser, medical clinic, hardware,Starbucks (love those mocha frappachino's in the summer) and on and on. 23 stores..
Bus stops (for my future) at either end of the street. 1 block from the ocean...
My only son/child died in a tragic accident in Edmonton Alta in 1986 at the age of 29. He was a police officer there and was married but had no children (they were planning on starting the following year.) I miss him endlessly he was a great great kid....
My wonderful husband died in 1991 of polyarteritis nodosa complicated by pneumonia...He was 57 years old and had served his country for 30 years in the Canadian Navy...
He was a good man and my best friend.
15 years ago I did some major renovations to our home and lived!!!! Reno's are so stressful but created many humourous moments..
The following year I had the Japanese Style garden of my dreams put in in the back yard. It brings me much joy, peace and WORK....
I have had 2 triple bypasses 15 years apart. The last one also included an aortic heart valve replacement. Other than one small hitch in the last one I've come thru both with flying colours and doing very well....The last was 5 years ago.
I have one younger brother who lives about 45-60 minutes away (depends on traffic) in Sooke...He's now single. No children.
So as you can see I have no grandchildren, nieces or nephews to cuddle and love...
I used to love bowling but over the years all the bowling alleys have disappeared much to my and many others disappointment....I (if I do say so myself) was a pretty good bowler.
My body has been invaded with arthritis and C.O.P.D. but I just take it one day at a time..Some are good and some are bad but that's life in general I think.
I love listening to the rain as it makes me feel all warm and cozy! We don't have too much snow most years and that is GOOD...
Hope I didn't take up too much time but that's about it on me. The rest is just normal living.
Oh, yes....If I don't mention my constant companion she'll be meowed off!! My cat, Lexi is a wonderful little spoiled girl...She is my first experience with cats (was a dog (4) owner only) and what a learning curve that was. One thing you learn with cats is PATIENCE......That's me!!

My hobbies are pretty much the same as "What I like."
I guess it's a hobby....Trying new restaurants....
My volunteer days are over but I enjoyed them all.
Volunteer grocery shopper for shut-ins.
excercise instructor at a Seniors Home.
Swimming assistant for the disabled.
timesheet preparer for employees at Senior Center
May take up a new hobby one day....who knows...
