Bring Fall on early as I have had my fill of heat and humidity this summer.

The woods are lovely, dark and deep

But I have promises to keep.

And miles to go before I sleep.

And miles to go before I sleep.

I am the mother of a 40-year-old daughter, who is also my best friend. I also have 1 stepson ~ 55 ...sadly the other stepson passed away just after his 52 birthday, May 2, 2016. There are also 4 grandsons and 1 granddaughter. The eldest 'son' lives in England with his wife and 3 of the 4 grandsons.

I was born into a newspaper publishing family, so guess where I worked most of my life...you guessed it, the newspaper. The Taunton Daily Gazette was owned by my dad's family from 1848 until 1973. I worked there in various capacities (part-time and full-time ~ from the circulation department to being the Administrative Asst. to a few publishers) from 1956 until my retirement in 2004, when I chose to stay home to take care of my mother, because of her health.

I'm basically a very easy-going person; slow to anger, but when I do get angry WATCH OUT! I'm also a very good listener, but will not give advice unless asked. I would also like to think that I have a good sense of humor :-)

In my high school years, I sang bass in a female barbershop quartet and was also a member of a square dance exhibition group. Also took piano lessons for 10 years.

In the mid-70s I re-met with a high school 'crush' and proceeded to pack up my things, quit my job and move to England to be with him. We were married there and would have remained except that his father was in failing health so we came back to the 'states' along with the youngest of his 2 sons. Sadly, after 20 years of marriage, Chuck passed from lung cancer in 1996. I treasure our time together and miss him still. Soulmates...that was us. :-)

Both sons were given the option of staying in England with their mother, who had also remarried, or coming with us.

Ok,that's all for now, but more to be added at another time...maybe...

Coffee Time!  Monday is already here and October is here!  What will this month bring to us?

temp-Image-MN91db

Every day when I go outside, I look up at the sky!  This morning the moon was big, white and round in our blue sky.

Isn't it amazing how each day is different and very unique.  I never get tired of looking around me.

The amazing things that happen way up above us.  God's handiwork!

Good-Morning-Bench-View

How about we sit on this bench and dream Tuesday away?  No need to do chores today.  Just visit and enjoy the view!

Happy-people-make-the-best

Of course we can make the best of this day and choose to do that every day.  Do I get frustrated?  Sure!  Do I have a bad day?  Sure!  But not for very long.

Baby-Birds-Hair

And I have lots of "bad hair" days!  But on those days, I just don't look in the mirror.

So if you have a bad day, find something or someone who will put a smile on your face.  Or go out and do something you really like to do that is fun.

Dog-Best-Therapist

After all, a dog, a cat, an animal, a friend, etc. can all turn your day around and make you smile.  Then go share that smile with others and make their day bright too.

Saturday-Sweet-Grace

Where did the week go?  It is Saturday and this evening we play the Baylor Bears!  I am always ready for some football or college baseball.

Hummingbird-Albino

Most of our hummingbirds have migrated to South Texas now.  We do still have some that stay pretty much most of the year.  Have you ever seen a rare Albino of any species?

Hummingbird-Albino

I even found this video of a rare Albino Hummingbird.  Also my girlfriend in South Texas, Judy, shared her video of all my hummingbirds that are now at her feeder over 400 miles away.  I was grateful that they had a new home for a while on their layover!

Grateful-Let-Go

Happy Fall?  We will have a heat index between 105-109° today and yes we still need rain without the damaging storms.  But there are always lots of blessings each day and a long list of things to be thankful for too.  Thank you for being my friend!

Hugged-you-Feel-the-squeeze

Now let's get this weekend started and I hope you get out and do something special for those you love.  Pass on that Hug!  I am not working Monday but Friday!  Happy Caturday!
