I met both Oldblueeyes99 and mouse here at NOTH. Oldblueeyes99 lives only about 30 minutes away. We have plans on meeting in person very soon. I have exchanged emails and chatted on the phone with both. . .I LOVE the HILL for making new friends.

9/1/10 ~ Well, we are bracing for Hurrican Earl...just heard that it's latest track is further to the West. . . not good for us. . .have to wait and see what Friday brings ~ stay safe and keep comfortable wherever you may live ~ hugs

Sorry if I have not responded to your recent comments, but please check the bulletins as I do try to post there on a daily basis... many hugs to all who visit my glen.

But I have promises to keep.

I am the mother of a 32-year-old daughter, who is also my best friend. I also have 2 stepsons ~ 47 and 46. There are also 4 grandsons and 1 granddaughter. The eldest 'son' lives in England with his wife and 3 of the 4 grandsons.

I was born into a newspaper publishing family, so guess where I worked most of my life...you guessed it, the newspaper. The Taunton Daily Gazette was owned by my dad's family from 1848 until 1973. I worked there in various capacities (part-time and full-time ~ from the circulation department to being the Administrative Assnt to a few publishers) from 1956 until my retirement in 2004, when I chose to stay home to take care of my mother, because of her health.

I'm basically a very easy-going person; slow to anger, but when I do get angry WATCH OUT! I'm also a very good listener, but will not give advice unless asked. I would also like to think that I have a good sense of humor :-)

In my high school years, I sang bass in a female barbershop quartet and was also a member of a square dance exhibition group. Also took piano lessons for 10 years.

In the mid-70s I re-met with a high school 'crush' and proceeded to pack up my things, quit my job and move to England to be with him. We were married there and would have remained except that his father was in failing health so we came back to the 'states' along with the youngest of his 2 sons. Sadly, after 20 years of marriage, Chuck passed from lung cancer in 1996. I treasure our time together and miss him still. Soulmates...that was us. :-)

Both sons were given the option of staying in England with their mother, who had also remarried, or coming with us. After all these years, the eldest is now considering a move to Florida with his family. If this happens I might just get to meet my 3 other grandsons.

Ok,that's all for now, but more to be added at another time...maybe...
