2014*02*01-Friday EMOM'S MOUNTAIN NEWS
Welcome home, dear hearts, welcome home
Well, get in here... I was just going out to sit in the sun. Bikini weather doncha' know! All of 39 out there right now.
Let's get the good/bad news out of the way first. 1.) USDA has given a final moratorium...I have 6 months to get this thing straightened out with SSA. This moratorium thingy has damaged my credit rating...Well, I guess it evens out. 2.) SSA has waivered the balance of my ''overpayment/payback''...That the "overpay was NOT my fault". Not to look the gift horse in the mouth, but this payback thingy has wiped out my emer funds that I kept in my savings. This is why I didn't call for help when the furnace went out!
I have asked, in writing, for the confiscated funds to be returned. The furnace is in really 'iffy' shape. In other words, if I didn't screw up, why am I being punished?
I am really angry with the ''system'', not the people who work so hard to help. I am angry that others who cannot stay warm/fix heating systems, are still suffering! (Need I mention the ''vacations'' taken by all the juveniles in DC. And NO, I am not talking about O's little girls! I am talking about my VETS, the Elderly, Children of all ages and the critters!
Oopsie, sorry bout that. I didn't mean to get carried away that far but I AM telling the truth, NOT exaggerating. Just telling it like it is!
Ok, now on to the cold and snow! Did I get any sympathy? Well, I did get a smidgeon (SP) of nice from a couple... However, let me mention certain people here. Fletch, the Brat who named my wheel chair let me know there were flowers blooming and for me to explain what ''snow and ice'' are. I will get even!...also called to my attention there was more than one copy of the New on NOTH!
Then there's Jane from NOTH! She allowed that I was healthy but did noticebly mention that I am BULLHEADED! Who? Me? Is that another term for stubborn? lolol
pix..Book cover design for a cop..old painting
Well, ratz... out of space before I run out of stuff. I haven't even gotten to the Marv or the G'cutter yet. Take care all of mine; go in safety always. Remember help those who really need the help.
Love and hugs... Meems, the TerMOMinator

Welcome home, dear hearts, welcome home. Get your butts in here and grab some coffee... Hate to mention this but I did trip over my own ego... In fact, several of us here in the mountains and valleys, tripped. Now, y'all know that I have back-up heatt, propane for emergencies only. Well, that helped some. We planned for the elec to be off... no problem. What I didn't figure on was the furnace breakdown when the temps were a minus 12 degrees..twice in one week.I finally had to say the 'hell' with the elec bill and turned the elec oven on in the kitchen. I should have done it sooner but I didn't.
I don't ever remember ever being sooooooo cold. I called and tried to get the propane topped off. Couldn't until I was able to give the % in 100 gal tank. Propane rationed! Those out/in greater need would get first service. I have no problem with that. However, I did have a small problem with trekking out the front door on the very icy sloping east side of the house! I took the downhill route by going between the house and the shrubs. 20% in the tank!
OK, so I start the uphill trek. MG! It was cold out there. Get to the top and start toward the front door. Well, I got caught by my trash collector, who is also a good neighbor. He stops, yells 'what are you doing out here?' Freezing! I explain. He grabs me by the arm and drags me to the front porch. Points out the ice on steps...still scolding me! The more I thot about the scolding, the funnier it was. Gets me to the door and almost shoves me into the living room. I'd already told him I'd called the repair about furnace. Said he would come back and get me if there was any delay on the furnace.
And then there's the Anna! Oh good heavens! She called and checked on me several times a day. I told her I was fine... and I was sort of! lolol She wanted to come get me... Nope, I was/am determined to stay here. Mainly because of the animals. I will not leave my critters! Well, yesterday, she told me she would call Kelly, the high Sheriff. She would have him come out, arrest and take me to jail! lololol I do believe they would both do the above! Tomorrow, I will explain why I didn't call repair service sooner. (This is one of those good news/bad news items.) And then there's the Grasscutter.
Anyhow, that's it for now. Go in safety all of mine. Remember that sometimes even the good neighbors will give paybacks... if you get my drift.

2014*1*8*Wednesday EMOM'S MOUNTAIN NEWS
Welcome home, dear hearts, welcome home. Get warm and comfy... grab a comforter or an afghan and get over by the heat! Sheesh! I just did get all my warm weather stuff put away and I finally found my mukluks and my other snow shoe. Don't ask! lololol And now, it's warming up again... Now, where did I put the polka dots?..
Just a short note to let all you G/G's in them BBSB's up there... I saw y'all up there today...scribbling all over the blue. I waved out the side door at all of ya but it was still too icy to go out on the porch! I'd love to be peeking over your shoulders as you go over the sunlit, snowy mountains... just one time... well, maybe more than once.
I got all the checks made out to pay the bills... lololol but doesn't do me a dime's worth of good unless I can get to the mail box! Addressed, stamped, all the attn:s done for several days now... and here they sit!
Was talking to Anna this morning and we ended up laffing so hard I couldn't breathe! I was trying to tell someone yesterday that I can always stay warm because I can crawl between the feather beds, 3 or 4 of them, I forget. Well, part of my dyslexia lends itself to mispronunciations. What falls out of my mouth??? Not feather but 'weather' beds. Jeff got tickled and it went down hill from there. Now, back to Anna.. she wanted to know if I had just crawled out from the 'weather' bed. She started laffing and I could hear Elmer laffing in the background. I mentioned to her that we should go out heiferring when it warms up. That's all it took... off we went again... That woman is a BAD influence on me... lolololol and I love it!
Pix... me before coffee and showing my appreciation for cold, below zero, windy, snowy white outs... oh yeah! Pic 2 abstracted cardinal in the winter. Number 3 is an attempt to capture icicles in a tree after dark. I'm gonna learn to work that cam if it kills me... sheesh
Take care all of mine...go in safety always. Remember to keep your mukluks and parka handy just in case we have a another vortex attack.
Hugs, love and much laffter even during the hard times... meems, the TerMOMinator
2014*1*7*Tuesday EMOM'S MOUNTAIN NEWS
(OK! OK! SHEESH! I'm here finally!)
Welcome home, dear hearts, welcome home. GIT IN HERE! Too damned cold to be hanging around outside! Last 3 days? Snow, white outs, heavy duty winds, minus 10 deg this am. Well, I decided that it was more than soon enuf for me to make the trek to Storm God Central. Meems is gonna picket! ! ! !
Well, I started looking for my winters'. Can't find my mukluks.. found one snow shoe... called to have a picket sign made (a Modern battery powered lite up type) Sign maker said he would get back to me. Sign maker called back! I'll have to wait in line for a week or more... Too many people ahead of me having the same idea and he was running out of supplies!
Hmmm! Well, now, y'all know that when I get started, ya best be doing sumfin! So. I called. Well. I've decided it will be simpler if I go picket when it warms up some...
I still can't find my other damned snow shoe! Pyggs is refusing to let me hook him up to the sled. Looks like I'm grounded! Ratz! (I just made all of this up) Would these lovely green eyes lie to you all???? Oh yeah! Welllll, some of it is true...honest!
Seems like I'm back to my screwed up sleep schedule again. Almost made it to day shift but that all got re-arranged by the weather... can't go out the door even to the mail box? Crawl between the feather/weather beds (thank you Jeff) and stay warm.
Now, it seems the Marv doesn't have enuf to keep him busy... He has pestered me all day today! What's an emom to do? I threaten to move out there with a gazillion wind chimes and all my pots and pans. Now, do I cook? I don't think so but I can use them to practice my drum beats/timing. See, I know the Marv likes to sleep late... can you say '''blackmail?''' Oh yeah.
Some good news/bad news...USDA has given me a 9 month half pay moratorium on the house payments. I'll be able to eat! The bad side is my credit rating went down the tubes. Thank you SSSystems.
OMG! A Blackhawk just went down... Go in safety mine. Duty tour is over. Remember ours/mine who are giving their all to keep us safe.
Many hugs, much love...enjoy the good times meems, the TerMOMinator
2013*12*29*Sunday EMOM'S MOUNTAIN NEWS Welcome home, dear hearts, welcome home! Get yourselves in here and get dried off. Sheesh! 40 deg and drizzling rain! Guess I'm gonna need to make another trek to Storm God's Central! Shoulda' whispered that last sentence. If Anna hears I'm making another trip, she gonna be ''on'' me, for sure! Before I forget, I want to let the lady asking about the welfare of the kitten on the ice story from yesterday. Kitten was fine and I was relieved that I didn't need to make a rescue from the the cold, icy water. It did call to mind a real event that happened back in the fifties.. lolol
My BFF*W was going steady with nice guy. Guy had buddy. I ended up on blind date with buddy. "They" decided we would go skating at the Cincinnati Gardens rink. Now, I had only been on ice skates maybe twice when I was very young...double bladed strap ons. I borrowed some skates from a co-worker.
All the way to Cinti, my date kept talking about how well he skated. Well, the more he talked the more I shriveled inside. Sheesh! I was dying and in embarrassed misery the whole trip. We finally arrived at the Gardens... inside we went.
Rink was surrounded by a barricade and we found seats about 5 rows up. I sat down and waited for Buddy to help me with my skates and then help me to the ice. This is not quite the way it worked out tho.
Buddy put on his skates... then he went down the steps and vaulted over the barricade ... As I watched, he slowly but surely disappeared behind the fencing! ?!?!?! His feet had slipped out from under him and nothing was left showing but his fingertips. It was all downhill from there. Did you know that it is hard to keep your balance when you are laffing hysterically?

That's it for now. Take care all of mine. Go in safety always. Remember you can always trade you ice skaters for rollers...lolol

Welcome home, dear hearts, welcome home! Get yer buns in here...grab some coffee or sumfin and relax!
Lordy Pete! What a roughhhhhhh few weeks! May I ask that this stuff stops happening and that my name be taken off the bad 'get her' list. PLEASE?!!?
I finally got all the paper work done for the SSSystem! Yeah! Believe it or not. Will go out Monday after I call the post office to get the costs of registered mail/return recpt! Well, it ain't been all bad. The 'homework' kept me out of bars/street corners and the road by the mail box. It has been rough tho (how bout a lil sympathy here...Marv, be nice!)
Anyhow, except for the waiting for an answer, the worst part might be over.
Anyhow, the weather has really been interesting... 72 deg then down to 19? Pond out back frozen, then thawed, then frozen. Snowflakes and ice crystals being blown by the wind...straight across the back yard. Can you say BRRRRR!!!!????
I was looking out the window over the kitchen sink... sun out even tho it was snowing. I caught a movement on the pond ice. Got so tickled when I figured out what I was seeing.. A kitten was attempting to take a short cut to the back porch! I cracked up watching her lil striped body slide different directions as she strove to conquer this shiny cold surface. She did a couple of ''Bambi'' spins while she was at it. lolol I was immediately thrown back in time to the first time I saw Bambi... when I was little! Remember Thumper, the rabbit trying to help?? lolol
And even tho I cut way back on all expenses last month, I want to thank my satellite system for adding all the Christmas musics to my limited channels. I've listened to Doris Day, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr., Frank Sinatra, oh gee, who else? Oh, Elvis too. Patti Page...Julie Andrews... Oh, it's been great listening to those old but familiar songs. (I even danced around the bedroom a little) lolol I can still do the 3/4 time!
What else???? Oh, the pic below of the hail. It is lenticular in shape...bottle cap to give some idea/comparison of sizes. They melted fairly quickly.
The last two pix of of the con-trails left by my G/G's in them BBSBs. X marks the spot and setting up for a game of tic-tac-toe... lololol Gotcha, kids...Go in safety always.
Take care all of mine, try to stay out of trouble. Remember the blessings that grew from the lessons we learned growing up.
Many hugs, much love and lots of laffter always. meems the TerMOMinator
2013*12*21*Saturday EMOM'S MOUNTAIN NEWS
Welcome home, dear hearts, welcome home. Come on out here on the porch after y'all get your coffee and ..... lolol Would you believe that it's 60 deg out here this morning? Truth, so help me! I talked to Storm God Central this morning and told them it was about damned time they changed that big light bulb outside. Was getting tired of dark and dreary. Lolol ... you think I am kidding, right? lololol
Have I mentioned lately that I hate dogs, cats, kids, husbands, horses, computers, beetles, and bugs in general? Sheesh! Have had puter problems - serious ones for about 36 hours now. I was sitting here throwing a hissy fit... wishing I had a brick! Well, it finally dawned on me "tis the season!" lolol Everybody sending messages to everybody else about upcoming Christmas visits. Duh, Paula! Sorry 'bout that. Merry Christmas all of mine!
Remember me telling you that the Marv sent me out to watch the mailbox? Well, how 'bout I found a container of CHOCOLATE! CHOCOLATE! Truffles. Omg! Can you say yummy? Oh, they were delicious! I think I scarfed down more than half the container over the next few hours. Not exaggerating a bit. Well, by the time I got ready to go to bed and to sleep, I was on a chocolate high! Do you think I could stay asleep? I don't think so! lolol I think maybe I'd best not do that again... lolol I'm trying to get back on day shift. Overdosing on coffee and chocolate are not the best things for me right now. I think!
Let me tell you about the last pic below. It's a photo of a miniature witch's broom that I made and sent to Little Jake. lolol I attached a note..."Things could be worse, I could be your next door neighbor". We've been good friends ever since. lolol Feel better Brat... hugs
Guess I'd better get busy... still have all that nasty paper work to do. It will never end! Take care all of mine; go in safety always. Remember that humans have celebrated this time of year for thousands, (Yes, I said 'thousands') of years... Sheesh, don't let me get started on this subject... lololol Enjoy the holiday season!
Many hugs, much love and lots of lafter to all of mine. meems, the TerMOMinator
2013*12*19-Thursday EMOM'S MOUNTAIN NEWS
Welcome home, dear hearts, welcome home. Get in here and warm up... that is the coldest 30 deg's out there ever. Contacted Storm God Central the other day about the snow and ice... and didn't they send us more. Anna says it's all my fault! Well, we've agreed to disagree on this point. I tell her it's her fault the weather is the way it is. She is a 'bad influence' and you can tell her I said so. lololol Gotcha, Anna.
Still playing (I lied using the word base 'play') with with the paper work. Got my response letter finished and copies made finally. Copies...oh dear. How bout my printer would not print anything from the puter itself???? Well, naturally, I went into a panicked frenzy. I was terrified that I would lose the letter after all the work I had put into it! I squalled for help. (This was not a pretty sight/sound) And, God love 'em, I got immediate help from the ones I asked. (Whisper here:I think they are afraid of me) Would I exaggerate? Oh yeah, trust me!
Thank you, kids for the help. I seriously appreciated it. Well, that used up today's allotment of 'nice'.
Aside here: I copied everything from the screen... by hand! One page typing - page and a half hand written. I need to ask here...how long has it been since you've hand written anything... like a letter, a blog, anything? Trust me, it is pure torture! In case you haven't noticed handwriting does not come with a backspace/dele key! How quickly we forget! Duh!
Now then... I finally contacted my puterguy. He walked me thru a process over the phone while he watched a b'ball game. I love people who multitask! Gotcha! Anyhow, sometime during this conversation, puterguy mentioned that his dad had said something about me dying. Dad had read or seen info somewhere. Wait for it! lolol
Puter guy responds with: ''no she isn't, she would have told me''. Still giggling over this one. I am having the best time! lolol
Pix below... First one a turkey caller painted at the request of a local hunter... a good and decent man. Feel better, JR. The other 3 are pieces are miniatures I've collected along the way.
Take care all of mine; go in safety always. Remember being independent is fine but it is ok to ask for help when help is needed.
Many hugs, much love and lots of lafter... meems, the TerMOMinator still giggling
