I have been enjoying the out of doors for most of the day and I truly do need another cup of coffee. Flowers are blooming more and more all over the yard plus the rose bushes. What a breathtaking site to see. I so do enjoy all the four seasons and all of its beauty.
It's a chlly morning but will warm to low 70's. I will plant some flowers this afternoon. I feel your pain as I have had to downsize too. Our 1890's farmhouse that had been in my husband's family for over 100 years was hard to leave. Thankfully my youngest daughter purchased the house so I can still go out whenever I want. I have moved into town. But no one can take those precious memories from you : ) Rest peacefully in your decision. Hugs, Nancy
Comments Live I have been off the Hill for a while because I have after much prayer, and conversations with my children, have decided to down size. This has been a heart wrenching decision for me as with many folks my age. Our place( my late Bob) and myself built this retirement home on a beautiful lake in the mts. of Tn. and lived here for 31 years. My health has not been the best for a couple of years and our 4 acres and house has gotten too much for me to handle. It is so hard to get hired help one can depend on, so it is time for younger folks to take over the joy of living here. I will be writing a blog occasionally to record my progress. Hope this coming week is a good one for you. Anne
Hello Anne, so nice to get your note and know what you are going through. all of this down sizing is very hard, things you have bought together , well it is like wrenching a part of you when you have to give them up. May be the best for you in the long run dear, to get it all done and over with and you can move on. How hard it is I do know. will be better foryour health too, you won't be worrying about it all. I wish you all the best my friend, do take it easy though, it takes time . Thinking of you and do drop a note when you can. Wishing you all the best Anne. Love and hugs, MoXX
Moving will be an adjustment but hopefully you can visit your old place and enjoy it without the responsibility of taking care of it. We all reach a point where we can no longer do what we used to,,i'm there now too and have been gradually changing my yard to make it easier to care for..I also agree it is hard to find workers..Good luck to you! xo
