We have had some cooler starts to our mornings with temperatures reaching the mid to upper 80's. However, Fall is not coming to stay in Texas any time soon. We will be in the mid 90's for a while.
Rain will also be scrace again for us. They told us to keep the hoses out and water those plants.
We can't put our hats away just yet. The sun will be beating down on us as we are giving plants a drink every couple of days.
So we will continue to enjoy each day that unfolds before us and give thanks for all our blessings.
Yes, we have 3/4 acre for a reason! We don't want to hear what the neighbors are saying, let alone thinking. OK, I love mowing too!
Apple's new iOS update is now available. I have always been the "go to" person for all my friends as far as Tech Support (George, I miss you). However, the older I get, the less sure I am that I can figure all this new stuff out. So, if you hear me screaming... I updated our iPhones and iPads.
Nothing could be more true. But then there is no better "Welcome Home" than from a dog either (or 4 of them).
I think even the dog can figure out the iPad faster than I can do it now. Let me know if you updated your Apple products or not already.
Do you share your deepest and darkest secrets with anyone special like a spouse or a friend or in prayers?
The moon is just as important as the sun. It takes both for the plants to grow. After days of rain and darkness, how wonderful does the sunshine feel to you? And how much do we enjoy the night when it is time to lay down and rest?
I don't remember reaching for the sun... but we do reach for the stars and the moon! Ok, last one for a while...
Have you ever wondered if the moon is at the end of the road? Exactly where is it and where does it go?
There are thousands of clever pictures of people holding the moon but I've never thought about drinking it.
Does the tree grow up to the moon or does the moon grow down to the tree? Which do you think?
The moon could be at the end of the railroad tracks! That is as possible as it being at the end of the road.
But I'll bet that all of you that have been to the beach at night really know where the moon likes to be the best of all. Kissing the edge of the water each night.
Are you up late at night? Do you go outside at night or do you go out on the town at night?
Do you look up at the moon and wonder who else is looking at the same moon?
My cousin and I often take pictures of our moon and share it with each other and say, "We are looking at the same moon."
Even though the scenery surrounding the moon or the colors of the sky may not be the same since we live in different states.
Sometimes we can't even see the moon because the clouds have moved in to obscure it.
Then at times, the moon looks so big and looks so close to us that we could just reach up and touch it.
While in another state, far away, the moon looks like it is a very long way off and that the stars are trying to outshine it. Which is your favorite moon?
The moon was so beautiful last night. I love that I can see it coming up through my living room windows. There was not a breath of wind after a warm and humid day.
I bet if you looked real close, you could see the cow jumping over the moon. Perfect weekend for high school football and homecoming for my grandson. Perfect weekend for College Football. Also a perfect weekend for tailgating at the Cowboys game!
When you take a vacation and take pictures, do you ever think what it would look like at a different time of year or in a different season or under different weather conditions?
Have you ever captured a lightning strike on camera? How blessed is the person that captured this... a rainbow and lightning.
None of the lightning pictures I have are anything like these. Can you imagine... a heart and lightning going through a cloud. Amazing!
Have you ever known someone who got struck by lightning? After looking at this picture, just think about what happens in a body that gets zapped. I don't think I'm going outside with an umbrella anytime soon. I hope you will get out there and share your smile today!
Everything quieted down yesterday and we got all our errands completed. In WalMart, as we come to the end of an aisle, we always look both directions to make sure someone is not going to run over us as we venture out. Yesterday, after looking right and seeing someone in a glittery, very bright teal sparkle tank top, I quickly looked the other direction. Someone yelled, "PAM!" I thought, Oh No! She was the daughter of one of my best friends from South Texas. We began visiting in the middle of the store and another lady (neither of us knew) joined us. She overheard us talking about the Fire in Fate. I was sharing the pictures of the Fire, then my friend shared pictures of her dog, and our new "friend" also shared her dog pictures. You never know where a smile and kind words will lead you but it warms your heart.
I hope you will share your smile today and you just might meet someone new too!
This started around 5:30 am this Tuesday morning about 2 miles from our house. It was an apartment complex under construction. Just the framework was up and pallets of wood all around.
It is just off the I-30 exit and could be seen from many miles away. Of course you could not get out of our neighborhood because streets were blocked off. Also the interstate was backed up for many miles because of "onlookers".
We are so blessed that no one was injured that we know of right now. All that fresh lumber was a very hot fire and Fire Departments from all around joined in to help. Thank you!
I was watching a video of it and you could see the apartment structure collapsing as it moved through the building. After 3 hours or so the fire is contained and hopefully completely out now.
Not sure if we will be able to get to town today or not (Taco Salad Tuesday from Rosa's, you know). Right now we are just counting our blessings and sharing them with you.
We did not get a shower to come across and help put out the fire, but we were sure blessed with no wind to spread the fire either. Blessings upon Blessings!
Our grass got way too tall as you can tell in this picture. The backyard gets more water (from the Septic system) and has more shade than the front. Both are now mowed!
I am believing that we will get rain tonight AND tomorrow at our home. We sure do need it. I still have areas of dead grass and plants that are not coming back ever.
Rain would make me happy, but right now... food would make me happy too. So what are you having today? I am now off to find something to fix for lunch.
Happy Saturday! It's the Weekend or just another day for some of us. We don't like going to town on the weekends and fighting our terrible traffic.
Isn't this a clever idea? I hope that you get to spend time with the Grands. I got to FaceTime and watched Michelle play volleyball on Thursday.
Maybe some of you are lucky enough to get to go dancing over the weekend. That used to be one of our favorite things to do. Hubby's health won't allow us to do that any more but we still listen to great music.
So whatever you are doing... OWN IT! Be the best you can be and share your light and love.
Here we are on another Friday getting ready for the weekend. Hubby has been pulling weeds in the front flower bed for 3 days and is hopefully half way. It got way out of hand with no rain to soften up the dirt for 3 months.
This weekend don't forget to be in one of those 3 places to each and every person you are around. Love is what this life is all about.
We all need a nudge of love and encouragement. A big smile is the way to start so share your smile everyday.
Try to treat others the way you want to be treated. There sure needs to be more of that in this crazy world right now.
