Just caught the end of lightning about 1 am after the storms had passed. Early news last night reported one area that already had 12" of rain.
Our rain, downpour, lasted about an hour and we got 2". Last night we had our usual stream in the backyard. But this morning there wasn't even a puddle. We have been dry and are grateful for the rain. I love that it soaked right in.
I am a morning person and a night person. I love watching the sun come up every morning and listening for the "crack" of dawn, hurrying out to catch the colors that appear and disappear quickly. But I also love late night, watching the moon move overhead, feeling the cool breeze, and seeing millions of stars in the sky. What about you?
Guess what I saw yesterday and today? I cleaned out the feeders and put in fresh food and then it was nice enough, warm with not too much wind, to sit on the patio for a while. I have at least a couple of different hummers!
I am working Monday and Tuesday, so I have been extra busy this weekend working inside and outside playing catch up. Now of course, we watched Longhorn Baseball and Softball Friday evening, Saturday afternoon and Sunday afternoon too.
So stop by and I will be back by Wednesday to check on you again. After all, you are my favorite, next to the hummingbirds in my yard.
Surely April means Spring! I know it means showers as we are supposed to get rain on Monday and Tuesday. I just hope it means the temperatures won't drop into the 30's again.
I am so ready to put flowers in the yard and hanging baskets full of flowers in the trees. We still need to clean out several flower beds and buy red mulch for all of them.
I am anxious to see butterflies and hummingbirds pollinating and all the beautiful colors of Spring. With all that being said, I am heading to the yard and sending you lots of ...
Good Afternoon! It is almost Friday which means that it is almost the weekend. Well, it is the last day of March.
And before we know it, April will become May! Time flies the older we get and boy, there are days I do feel old. Ok, today may not be one of them. I am missing the warmer temperatures though as today is only 61°.
I am going to remind you to share your smile, send blessings & hugs to you, and leave you with words of wisdom...
We survived the early morning storms. After an inch of rain there were lots of traffic accidents reported. I only heard of one microburst that did major wind damage in our area.
I still haven't seen any hummingbirds but if they tried to get to the feeder, they would get seasick, swinging in the wind. It is still blowing like crazy here. Today is only in the 60's and it is not as humid as it has been lately though.
But before we know it, all our time will be spent outside playing with plants and lots of yard work. So don't forget to take time to smell the roses. Thanks for being my friend!
Hang on to your hat and tie down everything! We worked in the yard yesterday morning; then we ran a couple of errands. Today I mowed and bagged weeds while Hubby worked in the flower beds.
Wind is at about 25 mph with lots of gusts. Our wind warning starts in a couple hours. I thought the wind was going to pick up one of the dogs and carry them off. Late tonight we have rain and storms.
So after a Taco Salad for lunch, I think I will sit and read the new book I started yesterday. I am sure we will watch the Aggies and Longhorns baseball game this evening too. it will be a completely packed sold out game! Tell me, what are you doing today?
Here we are getting ready to start a new week. Looking back on the weekend and wondering what fun did you have?
Did you watch the sun rise with a friend on FaceTime? And get to see the deer run across the road, about 9 of them?
Did you get to see your son dance with his daughters at a Granger Smith concert at Billy Bob's? And just beam with pride!
Did you get to spend the day with friends and eat the most delicious brunch in Tyler? And share your smile with a stranger on the street that led to a beautiful conversation.
Have you ever joined in prayer with a service dog? Peyton is Bill's service dog that does so many things to help him every day.
Have you been to a candy store that makes all their own candy? Our friends took us to the Lindale Candy Store and you would think you were in Heaven surrounded by chocolate and marshmallows. If you like that kind of thing!
Yes, we are very blessed and have given the Lord lots of Thank You prayers for our safe travels, for family, and for our precious friends... like you!
It is Friday! Let's sing about it. The weekend is closing in on us. What are you going to do?
Is it time for a haircut? Or just a new look?
Do you ever have a spa day? Tomorrow we are going to visit friends that moved about an hour or two away from us and see their new house. Of course lunch will be involved even though they say there aren't any places to eat. HA!
But we will all be together and enjoy lots of conversation and share lots of smiles as new memories are being made!
