The Bald Cypress tree in our front yard is completely iced over. We did not get any snow, just sleet and ice.
This is the beautiful Vitex tree in the backyard. It is also called a Chaste Tree and has beautiful purple flowers like a lavender plant.
Yes we have lost some limbs already and are supposed to have high winds tomorrow which means we will probably lose more.
Boo hoo! My beautiful backyard is going to need some work very soon. Feel free to let me know when you might be in the Dallas / Fort Worth area and would like to help.
Besides, you might get to have some fun like Michelle and Nicole with my 12 year old son, who will never grow up, that is behind the wheel of his car! I even got to see them (on FaceTime) spin out!
This is what is coming our way. WHAT??? Can you say global warming? I am freezing today even though I uncovered plants and moved plants out of the garage into the driveway. I will be covering and moving again very soon. Brrrr! Snow, Ice, Sleet - no thank you!
These were put on two weeks ago and they are now gone. I started Valentine early like the beautiful pages on The Hill. Now new ones are on...
I got half the house vacuumed. Hubby is now cleaning toes every day so I take the dressings off and put them back on. However, the pin in the little toe keeps wanting to come out. He doesn't see the doctor again until the 10th. So after a phone call to the on-call doctor, Hubby took the pin in his little toe out himself. Enough said! We won't talk about that any more.
By the time I get back here to visit with you, we will probably have snow and be really freezing even though we started at 28 this morning. Having that for a high instead of 70 is not my idea of fun. But I'll drink to that with you!
I have had the best morning reading all your posts. Makes me smile and warms my heart. Praying for those who are getting high winds and tons of snow. Seems like even with the sun shining most of us are very cold.
I really don't know how you live in weather like that and how all the animals and birds survive. I love that my girls sit in the chair with me to keep me warm.
Now it is time for me to get busy around this house. OK, I need to do my nails too. But after next week I sure hope you have more time to get this house straightened up. Dust bunnies are running rampid around here. There might be an abundance of dog hairs too.
HI THERE DEBIJO, HOW YOU DOING? BACK TO WORK AND HOPEFULLY YOU ENJOYED THE WEEKEND OFF. SO GLAD YOU GOT TO HAVE A COUPLE OF DAYS OFF ON THE WEEKEND AND HOPEFULLY MORE TO COME.
IT HAS BEEN COLD UP HERE , NOT FREEZING OR ANYTHING LIKE THAT BUT AROUND 2 C AND THE FOG MOVED IN COVERING UP ALL THE SUN WE WERE SUPPOSED TO HAVE FOR THE PAST 3 OR 4 DAYS. MAYBE TOMORROW THE SUN WILL BE ABLE TO COME OUT AND RAISE THE TEMPERATURES A BIT. WILL BE SO NIE. i AM ALREADY THINKING OF SPRING AND HOPEFULLY IT WILL BE HERE EARLY THIS YEAR.
i LOVE YOUR PAGE AND ALL THE NICE TAGS YOU PUT ON IT. VERY GOOD. IT DOES TAKE TIME FOR SURE. BUT A NICE CHANGE FROM WORKING !!!
HOPE THINGS ARE GOING WELL FOR YOU DEBIJO. I HAVEN'T BEEN DOING TOO MUCH LATELY, JUST THE USUAL OUT FOR COFFEE AND THEN TO GET TO THE BANK OR GROCERY SHOP. MOSTLY THE SAME THING EVERY DAY BUT AT LEAST I DON'T SPEND ALL MY TIME IN THE HOUSE. HAVE TO GET OUT EVERY DAY NO MATTER THE WEATHER.
SON STILL IN MEXICO, HE BOUGHT A BIKE DOWN THERE AND NOW ABLE TO TAKE HIS RIDES WHICH HE LOVES. ALTITUDE IS HIGH WHERE THEY ARE SO HAS TO TAKE IT EASY ON THE BIKE TILL HIS BODY GETS USED TO THE AIR. WAS SO DIFFERENT AT SEA LEVEL BUT HE WILL ADJUST . LOVES IT THERE BUT KNOW HE MISSES IT UP HERE . CALLS ON THE PHONE AT LEAST A COUPLE OF TIMES A WEEK AND EMAILS EVERY OTHER DAY SO TAHT IS GOOD. WILL BE SO HAPPY WHEN HE COMES HOME .
NOT MUCH NEW HERE DEBIJO, SO ALL FOR NOW. HOPE YOU HAVE A GOOD REST OF THE WEEK , DO TAKE CARE AND BE WELL. TALK SOON AND TAKE IT EASY WON'T YOU. LOVE AND HUGS, MOE XX
Abit cold this morning at 17 below so will stay toasty warm with a nice hot cup of toasted coconut flavored coffee from Good&Gather. It is sunny outside so the snow is glistening . Such a precious site to see. May you have a precious day enjoying your moments. Smiles Gloria
I think I will do almost nothing this weekend. I am so spoiled to Hubby running errands for us and this business of him not driving just because he had surgery on his right toes is already old. He is really doing very well but toes hurt. Next week stitches come out and then in two weeks the "pins" come out. Ouch!
Just 10 more work days. I have such mixed emotions. I love working with Kelly and she is so good to me. But I am SO FAR behind at home. The new girl should start on the 7th and I will go back to very "part time".
Do you ever feel like someone is staring at you? Guess I had better go find something for lunch. Poor thing has been on his own all week. What are you doing this weekend? Guess I'd better wash some clothes too. This up and down weather, 19-51 today, causes the basket to fill up faster. What happened to doing nothing?
Turning a new sunrise into a beautiful day depends on you ... live every moment with enthusiasm, even if the circumstances are adverse. Happy Tuesday! kisses.
HI DEBIJO, TIRED OF WINTER SO FLOWERS ARE GREAT TO PERK ONE UP. HOPEFULLLY SPRING NOT TOO FAR OFF. JUST IN THE MIDDLE OF WINTER BUT ONE AN ALWAYS HOPE FOR BETTER WEATEHR. NOTHING BUT RAIN UP HERE GET VERY TIRED OF IT AND NO SUN AT ALL. MAY AS WELL LIVE IN THE NORTH POLE. LOL
CHRISTMAS WAS OKAY BUT THIS YEAR MYHEART WASN'T IN IT AT ALL. MADE THE BEST OF IT . GUESS CAUSE MY SON WAS NOT HERE THAT MAKES A BIG DIFFERENCE.
WE DID HAVE QUITE A BIT OF SNOW IN EARLY JANUARY SO WAS HARD TO GET AROUND , HAD TO PHONE FELLA WITH A TRUCK TO PICK ME UP FOR COFFEE AND GROCERIES. WA SO GOOD OF HIM.
HEAR FROM Y SON MOST DAYS , USUALLY BY EMAIL BUT HE HAS PHONED AT LEAST A COUPLE OF TIMES A WEEK WHICH IS VERY GOOD. THINK HE MISSES HIS HOME AT TIMES AND MAYBE MOM TOO. lol
NOTHING NEW HERE dEB, THANKS FOR KEEPING IN TOUCH WHEN YOU CAN. THERE IS NO HURRY AS YOU KNOW. TAKE CARE AND BE WELL. HUGS, AND LOVE MOE XX
I thought most of us could appreciate this. We have been below freezing at night but are blessed not to have had any snow or snow that stayed.
Hubby is doing OK. He is at the 72 hour mark which means things should start to get better. Pills, cold therapy and keeping his foot elevated are helping lots. This is my last day to nurse him as I go back to work Tuesday through Friday. I will take him to the doctor on the 20th and then go to work.
I know the end of January until mid February is our worst winter weather, but I am still counting the days until Spring...
