good morning Pal and happy day after. Hope your Christmas with family was wonderful. Have you thawed out some? We had the coldest Christmas for our area in 30 years. Some folks lost power due to the high winds and of course lots of frozen water pipes. ours did not freeze except for the water in my washer's drain pipes. Sounds like you and Rich about froze on your trip. Bet you will be glad to get to warmer climate when you return home. Did you take Lulu on your trip? My son and his wife flew to TX last Thurs. They left FL with temps in the 60s and got to DFW airport wher it was 15 degrees. They took some warm clothing thankfully. We are just not used to it this far south and lots of people don't even own heavy coats. Our Christmas was kinda quiet. Some of family who usually visit were sick so they stayed home so as not to share germs. I missed them though. I cooked lots of stuff, as usual. We still have leftovers. Your prime rib sounds really good! I think the feast of the 7 fishes is a really neat idea. We had fish and shrimp last week that my son brought. It was red snapper that he caught and it was really good. Well I hope your week is good and that you are nice and warm wherever you are. love n frosty hugs from one cold FL gal, Beth
Do you hear something? Could it be Santa bringing me a bicycle? Or is it the boy and his dog from down the street? I hope it isn't that silly calf from the field behind our house. What do you want this year?
Is your Christmas tree inside or outside or both? If you love to decorate and DIY, here is a cute decoration for Christmas, seperated or stacked up with a hat on top. Cat lover or Dog lover, we all have our upside down clowns in the family. Wishing you and your family the merriest of Christmas with family and friends. Thank you Jesus for all my friends as you shower them with Blessings.
Well it's to late to run out and get anything but I did do a little shopping the other day and right now I think I have everything I need. It dropped in temps about 30* in 45 minutes. It's -8* right now with a wind chill of -19* below zero. That hasn't happent to us in over 30 years. I just hope I don't lose power!
good morning Pal, I guess by now you are safely at your sister's house and out of this awful cold. Not as bad here, I know but it's windy with wind chill in the 30s and that's cold for us anyway. They say this is the coldest Christmas in Florida for 30 years and I believe it. I remember moving in this old drafty UNinsulated house with small children back in the 80s. I'm happy to say it's much improved and warmer now. I have dragged in as many plants as I can. Going out there soon to see what I can do with the rest of them. The big heavy ones will just have to be covered. Yesterday was my last day out and about running errands. I dropped off some gifts for family that I won't see on the day of Christmas. I had to get more gift bags, cards and tissue paper at the Dollar store. Seems like I will never finish with all of it or have enough supplies. Keep having to go buy more. I do believe some of my Christmas stuff got left in the attic this year. thank you for your kind words about my page and the contest. I love designing and decorating anything that can be decorated. haha. You should see all the Christmas stuff out at my house! Lol. Enjoy your time with family and say warm, pal. if I don't talk to you again before the big day, Merry Christmas!! love and hugs from cold and windy FL, Beth
WELL... I know we are not the coldest place right now but our temperature dropped 25° in 10 minutes. We started at above 50° this morning and we are now 14° feels like -4°. We have had 40-50 MPH winds with a steady 25 mph or higher. And bubba, for Texas, this is extra cold for December as we are usually 50° to about 82° on Christmas. Even in late January and February we are not this cold. In Mexico City it is 72° right now, as it is just about year round! Did I mention that I don't like cold weather? When I got home from work today, we took warm water to the chickens next door (babysitting them) as their water is FROZEN and will be until sometime hopefully on Sunday. At least I am off until Tuesday. Only 87 days, 6 hours, 44 minutes and 21 seconds until SPRING... but who's counting.
Wow Cheryl - you sure have some mean temperatures! It gets cold her but never down to zero! Yes, I'd be putting up blankets over windows expeciall where the AC is. Isn't there a way you could seal up around the unit? I know it would be too expensive to replace your windows but you can get some of the stuff at places like home depot or Lowe that you put over your widows and seal the edges witha hair dryer and you can still see thru them. I;ve used that in the pat in my home in Jersey. Check it out - I'm sure it'll help. It's a rainy cloudy day here but temps aren't too bad but will drop a lot by tomorrow as we are on our way up north to go home. Have a blesed day, dress warm!!! Hugs, Wendy
I have used that kind of stuff before Wendy. Just don't want to get out and buy the stuff today. My husband did seal up around the air condtioner and We have a tarp around the outside and I have a insulated cover around it inside but its still cold. The sun is out now but its still windy. Going to be windy tonight also. We live in a old house so that doesn't help. Thanks for the advice. Cheryl
Hi there. Is it ever cold here. Its 0* and fells like -22*. Its warmed up some. lol It was -2 and felt like -26. Brrrr. My house is very drafty and this wind is awful from the north. I feel like I need to hang up some blankets. I may do that in our bedroom and at the window in the living room where the air conditioner is. I have a small cover the covers up the air conditioner but it hasn't helped much with the strong wind. I hope you are having a good day. Mine isn't to bad. Just trying to stay warm. Well take care my friend and many hugs from me to you. Cheryl
Left shoopping early as it was getting dark - thanks to the windter soltice! But that's ok - couldn't find anything anyway! Have a wonderful Thursday - the rain is moving in where we are - gonna make it hard to travel on Friday if it freezes.
Hi there. I got my page all decked out in wintertime scene. I don't like winter its to cold for me. But I don;t mind being inside where its warm. The weather is going to turn nasty tonight. Going to get down to 0* and only going to be in the single digits tomorrow and the wind chill is going to be awful. I won't be going anywhere. Enjoy the rest of your day my friend and take care. Many hugs from me to you.
Thank you! I hope your weather does not get that bad!

Bad weather is coming - Thursday it's gonna rain all day and Fri the storm will move in with high winds - just when we want to leave to go up north - maybe run into snow while there. Have a goo day.
There is a difference between dogs and cats. Dogs will lovingly pose for pictures and let you dress them up. Cats get scared when the Christmas tree just falls down and they want to show you love.
Hello there. How are you? I'm doing good. Its a cold 30 and feels like 25. That isn't bad compared to what its going to be the next few days. Thursday is going to be awful with a temperature of 8 all day and wiind chill making it worse. I won't be getting out that day at all. I hope everyone stays warm where you live if it even gets that cold. Well take care my friend and enjoy the rest of your day. Many hugs, Cheryl
Dear friends, may this Christmas time brings you peace, laughter and much love to your family and friends. Thank you so much for being my sweet online friend. You're friendship means so much to me.
