Did you know that if holly (Ilex aquifolium) finds its leaves are being nibbled by deer, it switches genes on to make them spiky when they regrow? So on taller holly trees, the upper leaves (which are out of reach) have smooth edges, while the lower leaves are prickly.
Hello Pal, hope you had a good safe trip to NJ and back. How is your sister and family holding up? I know how difficult it is, esp this time of year. We are still warm and cloudy here, waiting on the rain to move in and cool us off. I've had a busy week kind of. The girls came Monday for lunch. Yesteray was appointments and errands out and about. Staying home today and will get a few more gifts wrapped I hope. I am mostly done. Are you feeling better? Hubby is much better and feeling stronger. He has used the heating pad on his back/ribs each evening and it helps. They told him to use ice at the ER. That wasn't happening though. Have a good mid week and talk to you soon. love n hugs, Beth
I am off today but working a Seminar Christmas Dinner tonight for some of our clients from 6 to 8. Today I will go to work at about 4:30 pm. And guess what... tornado warnings all around us this morning. I just heard thunder and rain! It should be gone by noon. But what do I do right now, well, dance of course!
Hi there. I hope you had a good weekend and your Monday is looking good. I had a lazy weekend and my Monday hasn't been to good. I'm pretty sure I'm getting a sinus infection. My face hurts where my sinuses are. I've done about everything I can to get them to stop hurting and nothing has helped. I sure don't want to goto the doctor. Sometimes rainy and dreary days without sunshine are just for reflecting and thinking. Our online sermons today were magnificent and it is a perfect day as I get the laundry done and prepare for the week ahead.
