Good Morning Wendy, the turkey rollups sure sound good. I have a recipe for an Apple Crisp that has oatmeal in it. Need to get out the recipe and look at it. Yes, we sure did get some of the cold air you saw on the news. Freezing temps for us this morning which is record breaking temps for this time of year. I have my little gas fireplace going and a furry puppy in my lap. lol. Make that 2 furry puppies. Yesterday i attended a visitation and funeral service for my aunt who passed away. It was 40+ miles away so I was gone about half the day. i went with my sister and afterwards visited with her and her husband at their home. He just got out of a 5 week stay in rehab. He is doing much better. The wind was so cold at the cemetery during the service but they kept that portion of it brief. Came home and warmed up some soup for lunch then fell asleep in the recliner. I don't know why I was so sleepy but that was a good nap! Tomorrow I have a doctor's appt and then may go to lunch with the girls. We are doing a baby shower for my neice and need to get the paper goods and stuff for it. Have a warm and cozy day, pal.
Its a beautiful Fall Day here. In the low 70's, with a breeze, but it sure is nice. My house is on the chilly side even though we lit our heater. have it on the lowest setting. Do you like reading books? I now enjoy a good Christian book, a Mystery, a feel good Romance (like a Hallmark movie), and a funny cute Comedy. However, I do tend to fall asleep while reading too. I don't know how many times I nodded off last night before I put my iPad away.
I bit the bullet so to speak and faught the wind and cold to do my grocery shopping. I also got the leaves swept off the front deck until my son can come sometime this weekend to help with the yard work. This place is just to much for me to handle alone anymore. Good afternoon my friend. I hope you are doing well. I'm doing okay. Just tired from my busy morning. Its a chilly day here but at least the sun is shining. We are in a freeze warning for tonight and tommorrow morning. My petunias will probably freeze. But its that time of year. I need to get the hose off of the facet outside. Hey Pal, hope Rich is feeling much better and you got some rest. We had a warm, sunny weekend here. Watched our game Sat night and we lost, sadly. The girls came on Friday and we worked on some more pumpkins. Posting a pic below. About 3 of those in the pic are new. I'm making some to use for game prizes at the baby shower next month. Maybe people would rather have something store bought but I love hand made crafts. Guess you can tell! lol. The girls and I also got the Halloween stuff out and put it out front, mostly some jack o lanterns. We picked up a bunch more pecans and cracked them out a sandwich bag to take home. Well, they mostly cracked them out. I can't believe how thick they are this year. The ground is covered with them. We have a cold front on the way tomorrow. Yaayy! love n hugs, Beth
Blessing this Sunday! All my teams won in College Football yesterday and early today we had a bit of rain. What more could you ask for, you say?! Cooler temperatures are on the way for most of this week. Yes, Saturday will be 89° again but most of the week will be wonderful temperatures. Hope you enjoy your week!
