Hello Pal, sure hope the storm steers clear of your part of NC and Lisa and Darci's too! My son is in Jax, maybe that's what you were thinking of....he and his wife got heavy rain and wind during the night and damage to their roof. theya re safe though. Your soup sure sounds good. I made a chicken stir fry last night with lots of veggies. It has a sauce that thickens it some. The view from our house is nothing like any of these pictures. Is your view this nice from your home? Do you think it would be worth living far away from town to look at this every day, all day? Do you have a second home with this kind of view? I loved the Ranch (500 acres) when my parents owned it and had to maintain it. But it was always a lot of work and commitment and $ cost. I do enjoy the view from our patio and it is freshly mowed right now. I am very thankful for our home and grateful for the beautiful pictures to view and share with friends!

Hey Pal, my son is on the eastern coast of FL near Jax but we are more central in the panhandle. Think the worst of it will miss us. We are needing some rain though so if it brings some it will be welcome. As long as the rain doesn't linger! We had such a wet Summer. Sounds like Rich will do a good job in the new position. We are cool and dry here today and it feels aweome. Hope you are getting the same!
Oh what a wonderful day it is today. I see my Hummingbirds up in my Juniper trees and Vitex trees all the time. Can you imagine seeing a nest or babies? Now that would make my day! A bird in the hand is worth 2 in the nest! And I do need to check my ivy plant just like that one! Prayers for everyone in Ian's path!

I am so proud of my beautiful granddaughter and her Quinceañera pictures! I took over 70 pictures on Saturday, mostly of them getting ready. So funny and stressful at the same time. The photographer was awesome and I can't wait to see her pictures as I took a couple of ones after she set them up.
I sat on the patio for a little bit yesterday as the storms went around us and watched the six or so hummingbirds going from feeder to tree to flowers as the wind shifted to cooler temperatures out of the north. We are in the upper 80's this week instead of upper 90's.
Does that mean Fall is here in Texas? Probably not yet or for very long but I will "chance one eye"! Praying for all of Florida and all the people in the path of Ian. Thanks for sharing in my joy and being my friend!

Watching football before we go play dominos today - Rich should record the Packers/Bucs as the Packers are his team when they play later today. Our friends don't watch fosotball anymore so we'll miss the game. I'll still root for Brady though. Sunny quiet Sunday here with lots of sun and a nice breeze.
