Hello Pal, hope your holiday weekend has been good. No special plans here. Stayed home mostly except we attended a coed baby shower for a family member on Sat. The theme was coffee and donuts and they had everything decorated cute and the food was lots of pastries and hot and cold coffee. This seems to be the trend now with showers, to have men there as well. I'm old school I guess and think of them mostly for women. Hope you enjoyed getting to see friends. What did you end up cooking? My friend met me Sat with more of the donated food which I'll share with some who need it more than us. She gave me a big bunch of bananas so need to use them up soon and might make banana bread with them. You mentioned your nice weather. What's no humidity? LOL! Honestly it stays so high here most of the time but the concept sounds lovely. Our team won their game last night by beating LSU by one point! Anyway a win is a win and we were glad to get it. That game lasted 4 plus hours and I did not stay awake till the end but hubby did of course. Our new QB is doing a good job. Hello Pal, welcome to a new month. Sure hope it brings some cooler temps down my way . The shelves are pretty well stocked in our stores now. I noticed the JIF peanut butter was gone for months at my local Walmart and complained to the guy in that Dept. He said it was due to a recall. Yesterday was busy. The girls stayed with me. I made a Lime Cake recipe that I found on Facebook. It was decent but nothing special. It's a white cake mix, key lime yogurt, 1/2 cup of oil, 4 eggs and lime juice and lime zest. I made a powdered sugar glaze to go on top. Right as they were leaving yesterday tthe storm hit and dropped so much rain. I'm excited to see the Rings of Power too and have already watched the first 2 episode of House of the Dragon. It's been good so far and interesting to learn the back story of the Targaryens. I have the book sample on my kindle but haven't started yet. I didn't even know it was based on George R.R. Martin book till the series came on and it says it at the end of the show. Hi there. Its another warm day here. haven't been doing much today. Just kind of being lazy. Going to do my dishes after I get done on here. Wish I had a dishwasher but oh well, don't really have the room for one anyway. I have been stuck on a tv show on Hulu called Master Chef. Have you ever heard of it or watched it? Everything quieted down yesterday and we got all our errands completed. In WalMart, as we come to the end of an aisle, we always look both directions to make sure someone is not going to run over us as we venture out. Yesterday, after looking right and seeing someone in a glittery, very bright teal sparkle tank top, I quickly looked the other direction. Someone yelled, "PAM!" I thought, Oh No! She was the daughter of one of my best friends from South Texas. We began visiting in the middle of the store and another lady (neither of us knew) joined us. She overheard us talking about the Fire in Fate. I was sharing the pictures of the Fire, then my friend shared pictures of her dog, and our new "friend" also shared her dog pictures. You never know where a smile and kind words will lead you but it warms your heart.

Good afternoon my friend. I hope you are doing good. I'm kind of tired. I did take a nap but it must be the heat and the humidity that is making me tired. Its 90* and feels like 91*. It was in the 70's when I left to go to Walmart this morning. It felt good but didn't stay there for long. I need to do some dusting but I think I will do it tomorrow morning. Just don't have the want to do it today. Are you ready for Fall? I know I am. This started around 5:30 am this Tuesday morning about 2 miles from our house. It was an apartment complex under construction. Just the framework was up and pallets of wood all around.
It is just off the I-30 exit and could be seen from many miles away. Of course you could not get out of our neighborhood because streets were blocked off. Also the interstate was backed up for many miles because of "onlookers".
We are so blessed that no one was injured that we know of right now. All that fresh lumber was a very hot fire and Fire Departments from all around joined in to help. Thank you!
I was watching a video of it and you could see the apartment structure collapsing as it moved through the building. After 3 hours or so the fire is contained and hopefully completely out now.
Not sure if we will be able to get to town today or not (Taco Salad Tuesday from Rosa's, you know). Right now we are just counting our blessings and sharing them with you.
We did not get a shower to come across and help put out the fire, but we were sure blessed with no wind to spread the fire either. Blessings upon Blessings!
