There's been a lot of thunder but so far no rain. It's on it's way and again tomorrow. I think it's a "Do nothing Day"! I hope you have a good day and a great new week ahead!
Hi there. I hope you had a good weekend and are enjoying your Monday afternoon. Its a warm 93*here. Looks like it will be in the 90's all week. I was enjoying the cooler days that we had but oh well. Fall will be here soon, I hope. Take care my friend and many hugs, Cheryl
Our grass got way too tall as you can tell in this picture. The backyard gets more water (from the Septic system) and has more shade than the front. Both are now mowed!
I am believing that we will get rain tonight AND tomorrow at our home. We sure do need it. I still have areas of dead grass and plants that are not coming back ever.
Rain would make me happy, but right now... food would make me happy too. So what are you having today? I am now off to find something to fix for lunch.
Hello Pal, how was your weekend? Did the chicken casserole turn out good? Sometimes I think I have cooked chicken every way it can possibly be cooked. haha. Then I find a new recipe! Yep, the Summer veggies are winding down now. My Pepper plant is still trying, one of them anyway. The other is about dead I'm afraid. Between the heat and the endless rain I have to keep them under the shelter so they don't bake in the sun or drown. Our weekend was busy. I went to the birthday party on Sat. It was a tea party and so cute. Hubby got all the grass cut and went shopping. When I got home he fried some catfish he had bought and so I got a break from cooking. Our season opener was that night against a team named Duquesne (never heard of them before) Anyway we beat them pretty badly. Was your pre-season game good? We have more rain on the way this week and I'm sure missing the sun. Have a good new week.
Happy Saturday! It's the Weekend or just another day for some of us. We don't like going to town on the weekends and fighting our terrible traffic.
Isn't this a clever idea? I hope that you get to spend time with the Grands. I got to FaceTime and watched Michelle play volleyball on Thursday.
Maybe some of you are lucky enough to get to go dancing over the weekend. That used to be one of our favorite things to do. Hubby's health won't allow us to do that any more but we still listen to great music.
So whatever you are doing... OWN IT! Be the best you can be and share your light and love.
Wow, can you believe its already Friday. These days seem to just fly by anymore. How are you doing? I'm doing good. Got all my housework done , so now I'm on here. I haven't been doing much coloring lately. I guess I did so much I got kind of burnt out on it. Oh well, it doens't hurt to not color for a while. Its 91* here and a little breezy. I heard on the radio that it could get up to 100 on Sunday. I don't want that. I like the low 80's. The night's are nice and cool. Down in the 60's. Well enjoy the rest of your Friday and had a nice and relaxing weekend my friend. Take care and many hugs. Cheryl
Here we are on another Friday getting ready for the weekend. Hubby has been pulling weeds in the front flower bed for 3 days and is hopefully half way. It got way out of hand with no rain to soften up the dirt for 3 months.
This weekend don't forget to be in one of those 3 places to each and every person you are around. Love is what this life is all about.
We all need a nudge of love and encouragement. A big smile is the way to start so share your smile everyday.
Try to treat others the way you want to be treated. There sure needs to be more of that in this crazy world right now.
The fun isn't over yet. Every day is a new adventure. Is there anything exciting going on in your world this Thursday?
Never grow up, never give up! Always look for the fun in whatever you are doing. Just look at those smiles... well, except for the chickens maybe. Hope you are laughing!
Now, on a more serious note. Does anyone have any extra "3X Tall" shirts? Yes, my grandson who just turned 16 years old is 6'5" tall and he lifts weights. His mom is right at 6'. He just got new boots that were on sale, probably because no one else needed that size.
My bestie since 3rd grade, shared news about her grandson, who is part of my family. He is a sophomore in High School and just made the varsity football team. He does all sports, swimming, cross country running, basketball, etc. So all this comes natural to him and we are all so very proud.
OK, this Gram is done bragging for a bit. Tell me what you are most proud of today! Blessings & Hugs from me to you!
Hello Pal, so nice that you made new friends. If you know their names maybe you can search for them on Facebook and try to stay in contact with them. Haven't been to Panera in awhle. Last time we went they overcharged me. We like their French Onion soup in a cup or a bread bowl. It's really good on a cold day. Yes, we did a BBQ when my son was here. We grilled burgers for lunch on Sunday. I made some baked beans with sausage to go with them. They are in Destin this week on vacation and I'm jealous. haha! It's beautiful over there but shouldn't be too crowded with tourists this time of year. Summer is winding down and school has started back so that's the best time to go. Yesterday the girls invited me to go to a sea turtle release at the coast. You probably saw the pics i posted on FB but here's a couple more. It was Katelyn's (age 10) birthday yesterday and she got to be in the water when the turtle was released. She had a really good birthday. Woke up to rain this morning and more on the way I think. lots of hugs, Beth
So fun to share a smile and visit and find new friends!
Since I'm a late riser, evening is my favorite time of day. I used to take pictures of clouds then stopped but still love the sunsets. I do get a kick out of the hummers and will be said to see them leave - they'll only be around here for about another month for so. I guess you'll see them a lot later than that as they don't have that far to go to Mexico. Hardly did anything today and honey took me out to an early dinner at Panera Bread. Talked with antoher couple for at least 1/2 cause we found out we had so much in common - they guys were in the Navy and at the same places but at different times. We just clicked!
Howdy, Wendy: It's my belief that we should not overdo "work". It's always there so we might just as well give it some attention when we've looked after ourselves. Stay cool. Hugs.
Oh, how true is that! The 2" total of rain we got and the drop in temperatures with cloud coverage has sure made a difference in plants putting out blooms and new growth.
The passion vine was wilted every day but now look at the blooms which have a strong scent. Amazing when you walk past and get a smell.
The colors in the sky at sunrise are another noticeable difference as fall approaches. The clouds in this picture are one of my favorite patterns. I have lots of pictures like this over the years.
Of course, I do enjoy the evening pictures too with all the colors of the clouds. What is your favorite time of day? Yesterday after taking a panoramic picture, two hummingbirds that I had seen playing in and around the Vitex tree, went up about the roofline and hoovered in mid air for a minute. As I was about to get my iPhone up to video them, they dive bombed me. What was your day like?
