happy Thursday afternoon my friend. Its a hot sunshiny day here. Just might as well know its going to be hot as its almost summer. Stay cool and drink lots of water. Take care. Cheryl
It was a nice day here - not too hot or humid at all. Went to the center - had 'breakfast' lunch, then stayed for a craft. made a tea cup hanging bird feeder. i don't have a tree out front anymore a it had to be cut down as it was diseased. Kinda miss it. Well it was at boyfriend's house. But it's pretty and I might hang it in the house somewhere. Felt tired all day and tried to lie down but I didn't sleep. Had easy dinner of leftovers and now gonna take a shower and wash my hair. it'll wake me up for a while anywyay! Going out to dinner with the group tomorrow. I love bacon anything especially BLTs. Have a nice nite! Hugs, Wendy
I got out to water my plants and even with my hair braided and pulled up I was drenched with sweat! The heat index is horrible today already 101* and getting worse next week.
Hey pal, I did send a comment to you on Mon. the 13th. Not sure if you saw it. What have you been up to? I've been watching serial killer documentaries on HLN. haha. Seems to be very popular like the Dateline shows. Also gave both dogs a bath and took them outside in the sun to dry for a few minutes. They don't like to go out without me. (such spoiled babies)
11 would be too early for lunch for me too. I usuallly haven't even had breakfast by then which for me is mostly some yogurt with fruit or berries. I'm not a big breakfast person. Our heat index has been well over 100 too and I'm missing my swimming pool. The blueberries are getting ready. I'll have to go to the patch early so I don't melt into a puddle while I'm there. My pepper plants have taken off. Will send a pic later. Hope you're keeping cool. It's a good day for a popsicle or some cold watermelon. Such good memories of being sent outside witih both of those things in the Summer, as a child. Enjoy your day and I'll talk to you soon. huggies, Beth
Good afternoon my friend. It isn't as hot here today as its been, but still have the air conditioner on. Its 86* but feels like 84*. But it still feels hot. Tomorrow its back to 100*. I hope you are doing good and it isn't to hot where you live. It isn't even summer yet and I'm already tired of the heat. I'm not a hot weather person or a cold weather person. I like the in between that we don't get enough of. Well take care my friend, hugs Cheryl
The front and back plants have already been watered today. I am craving BACON so I "might" fry up a pound. Doesn't Bacon and Egg Sandwich sound good?
Then I hope to read the new book I started this week. If I read at night I get sleepy. Besides, I love Hallmark and UPtv Christian and "feel good" movies.
Its another hot and windy day here. its 99* and feels like 97*. Not doing much just staying in the house by the air conditioner where its cool. I went to Walmart this morning and got a few things. It was already hot by then. You take care my friend and stay cool. Hugs, Cheryl
Hello Pal, what are you up to? Wishing I was at the beach with a cool drink in my hand and bobbing around in the surf. Might talk hubby in to a brief trip to the coast soon. We are melting down here in FL. Bet you are getting the same awful high temps up there. I have the blinds on the south and west side of the house shut to keep out the sun and it seems to help the central AC unit. I've had seasonal allergies the last few days and a little sore throat and ears are kind of itching and hurting down inside. Hope you are keeping cool. I have some Blueberry Lemonade in the fridge that will be good for lunch. Enjoy your day. Got the rest of my small flags out front yesterday just in time for Flag Day.
I have errands to run today. The College World Series starts Friday. So I will catch up on movies on UPtv or Hallmark or read Christian books on Kindle. But for now, I am off and running.
Don't forget to share your smile with everyone you encounter. We have a reprieve from 100's until next Monday, unless they change the forecast, but that is something to smile about.
Hi there my friend. I hope this note finds you staying cool. Its hot here. 100 degrees and windy. Yesterday it got up to 108. To hot and it isn't even summer yet. I'm staying in the house by the air conditioner. To hot to be outside. Well take care my friend, hugs Cheryl
Short night, 4 hours sleep. The Longhorns baseball game was supposed to start at 3 pm but with rain delay in NC, it didn't start until 9:15 pm. However, we are heading on to Omaha so it was worth the very late night. Then dogs were barking at a snake way before daylight and later two of them each caught a mouse, one of which brought the still barely alive one in the house. It is nap time in our house! SO, HOW IS YOUR MONDAY GOING?
Hello Pal, hope your weekend was good. I know you're glad to have the dentist appt and mammogrammy behind you. Neither one of those much fun, but very necessary. I'm needing to go the dentist too, for a cleaning. Everything is so expensive when it comes to healthcare, it's ridiculous. Gas prices here range from 4.69 to 4.89 per gallon. I don't go any more than necessary and hubby is driving his old Nissan truck to work now. It's 25 years old but still running fine and much better on gas of course. It's a small truck and his Chevy is much bigger. We had a hot and steamy weekend here with thunder rumbling in the distance but never had storms thankfully. Hurricane season has started already and y son told me this morning he had ordered a generator from Home Depot. Sure need one when you live in FL, I can vouch for that! We had a huge limb break off an oak tree in our yard recently and hubby spent the whole afternoon yesterday cleaning up that mess. It was so miserably hot too and I was worried about him working out in it. Hope the new week is good, pal. love n hugs, Beth
Does anyone have a telephone number for Sparks505, or know if Lee is OK? She hasn't answered my email and I am still worried about her. Thanks!
Next question, do you ever see Monarch Butterflies? Do you have any Milkweed plants? They look like this...
When Monarchs feed on milkweed, the caterpillars ingest toxins in the plant that make them poisonous to predators until they become adult butterflies. The plant will have pods on it that contain seeds.
This is what the pod looks like when it opens and the seeds fly away, all over the place. I have at least three envelopes full of seeds and many more pods to open soon. Let me know if you would like seeds. My neighbor, a teacher, always captures the caterpillars and watches them turn into a butterfly. This year we were both out of Milkweed because of the bad freeze a year ago in February. We both bought plants. I also bought 4 colors of seeds which I shared with others already not knowing how many seeds my plant would produce. Anyway, I hope you enjoyed this lesson as I did not realize Monarchs covered such a large area.
