Springtime in Texas! Wildfires, High Winds, 80° to 30° temperatures, 2" Rains after Ice Storms. Somehow we got the yard mowed & bagged all the dried grass. Well, not all of it because dogs come in the doggy door covered in dried grass after rolling around outside. Then on a calm wind day, we got the fertilizer spread before the next rain.
This weekend we watched college baseball, softball and boys and girls basketball (Longhorns won their matches). Also the dogs all four got a bath and they are thrilled or not.
Sure hope you are enjoying Spring weather and the weekend. Share your Smile and know that I am sending you lots of

good morning Wendy, well Spring will arrive officially tomorrow and it's coming in with a bang, literally. We had terrible storms last night that lasted for hours and dropped 5 inches of rain. It felt like a tropical storm. We got flash flood warnings on our phones about 9 pm. Needless to say my yard is a lake. Did y'all get any of that rain or bad weather? I saw Alabama had flooding too, earlier in the week. My dogs thought it was the end of the world with all that thunder and lightening last night. The girls were feeling better so came for lunch yesterday. We had a little picnic outdoors and the wind was crazy even then and almost blew away our lunch. Hope your weekend is good and you are dry and cozy! Me...I'm building an ark. haha!
Stormy looking weather yesterday evening. Wednesday we were above 80° and working just a little in the backyard, I broke a sweat. Thursday we got the yard mowed; all the dead grass bagged up and ready for trash pick up.
Of course it is much cooler today. And we still have to put fertilizer down probably this weekend before we have a chance of rain on Monday. I am anxiously awaiting April when I should be able to move plants out from under the plastic into the trees and the yard.
You know... head 'em up and move 'em out. Yes, right now I think I am ready for summer. Yee Haw!
good morning Pal, oh yes I have on my green for sure. Of course I wear it frequently cause it's my favorite color. lol. Oh the cabbage dish sounds so good. I guess we had ours early. I made cabbage in a pot with kielbasa and potatoes on Sunday. It was good but I made way too much. Will freeze the rest of it. Glad you're getting good Spring weather. We are too and today is perfect. You can't get any better than 75 for a high temp here. Esp. with low humidity. I have the windows open to catch the breeze. I will make the Poke cake today. I'll let you know how it turns out. I usually do the pistachio pudding cakes this time of year, they are so pretty and have almond extract and of course you had a drop or 2 of food coloring to enhance the green. The girls are feeling better, just did a video chat with the youngest. She has a lingering cough though. Hope your St. Paddy's day is good. Oh and I'm Welsh too, on my mother's side. Irish from Daddy's. Sunny day XXs and OOs, Beth
