Hi Wendy, so nice you got to see the fireworks twice. Sounds like a beautiful photo you took. There were fireworks all around us on the fourth but we just stayed home and popped off a few after the storm blew out. We have had more than 5 inches of rain since the night of the fourth. At least the rain had kept the temps down. We made a day trip to the beach yesterday and took a picnic. The showers held off while we were there and we enjoyed the warm gulf waters. We had on sunscreen but we still got too much sun. Had to break out the aloe last night at bedtime. Nothing much planned today. Making a pot roast with veggies later for supper. Hi Wendy, we had ribs and corn on the cob for our fourth of July meal too. It was all so good. My son smoked the baby back ribs and made a homemade sauce for them. Man they were awesome. Did you go to any fireworks? We popped off a few about dark right after the thunderstorm blew out. We got so much rain but we sure did need it. My little dog thought the world was ending between all the thunder and the fireworks. I had to hold him and reassure him quite a bit. Yes I have an instant pot and I really like it. I never imagined how much I would use it when I first got it (Christmas before last) I had never owned a pressure cooker before but I have to say it's very convenient and quick for lots of stuff. We are still soggy here after all that rain last night and it's steamy out there. Happy weekend friend, enjoy! love, Beth
Good Morning Wendy, we always get Silver Queen when it's in season. It's always been my favorite. Haven't had any this year though. I haven't heard of Milky way. Do you have big plans for the fourth? We will probably just hang out here and grill out. We saw Spiderman yesterday at the theater then stopped on the way home and got some baby back ribs to grill. Can't wait. Got a few small fireworks too, to pop off for my granddaughter. Her daddy enjoys doing them. Yes I got my fryer from Amazon, the brand is called DASH and it's a 6 quart capacity. Not sure what I'll do next but the frozen okra turned out dry in it. Think I told you that. We are hot and steamy here. I have clothes on the line already.
