Hi there. Not a lot going on here right now. Just got up from a nap a little while ago. I had a diabetic doctor's appointment at 9 this morning. He was pleased with everything on my labs. So now instead of 3 months I don't have to go back until 6 months. It gets dark here around 8:30 too. It used to be 9 before it got dark but that was in June and July. I'm ready for it to cool off. Today isn't to bad. Its like 90* here. It was nice and cool this morning when I left to go to the doctor. I didn't even need the air conditioner on in the car. Well take care Wendy and I will talk to you later. Hugs, Cheryl.
May you have a very special day enjoying your moments as you share your smile with others and hopefully they will share their smiles. I like the smilie wrinkles I have on my face. Hugs Gloria
Wednesday is the new Friday; oh wait, that is supposed to be Thursday is the new Friday. I am grateful for each day that comes our way.
I have had such fun with the hummingbirds lately. Because of the heat, the lack of rain and flowers not blooming a lot, they are protecting the feeders.
They have really been showing off a lot and their colors are bright in the sunshine. Have you ever touched a hummingbird?
I have a tall plant on the patio about 3' from the feeders and they have begun to sit there to protect the feeder from other hummingbirds.
One afternoon when I went out to check to see how much food was in the feeder, a hummingbird zoomed in to sit on the plant and was about 15" from me. In the sunshine his throat was a bright yellow!
He looked at me eye to eye and when he realized I was standing there, you should have seen how fast he flew away. But looking at him so close, his throat was the most beautiful red. It is amazing all the colors that their throat will turn in different light. What a blessing to be so close even without a phone camera.
Hi there. I hope you have been enjoying your Tuesday. Mine has been busy. Had to go and get some blood work done as I have my 3 month doctor appointment with my diabetic doctor in the morning. Its a nice afternoon here, not to hot. Not much else going on, just wanted to say Hi to everyone on the hill. Take care my friend and enjoy the rest of your day. Hugs, Cheryl
We have a bit cooler temperatures this beautiful Tuesday. But we are still waiting for the rain. I have already showered and watched hummingbirds this morning,
Today we are doing a little rain dance with our morning coffee.
It is a beautiful day on the horizon and for a few days to come then we will be back to very hot!
I am sharing thank you kisses with those that were praying for Texas for cooler weather.
Now sharing our Blessings with you as the month of August is coming to an end for this year.
Hi there. I hope you are having a nice afternoon. Its not bad here. A little warm but not in the 100's. I went grocery shopping this morning so now I'm getting the laundry done. Have a good rest of your day my friend and take care. Hugs, Cheryl
Hello Pal, thank you so much for the prayers. Yes, it's very hard on the spouse thats left behind, especially when the one who passes took care of most things. My sister was 13 years older than me. She was the oldest of us 6 kids and my twin and I are the youngest. It still doesnt' seem real that she's gone. Had a good visit with a work friend who came to see me last week and brought food. People don't do that as much anymore, bring food after a death in the family, but those who do are certainly appreciated.
What have you been up to? Hope your weekend was good. I came home after church yesteray and got a pot roast on to cook in the oven. Turned out good with potatoes, carrots and onion soup mix added. That's my lazy way to add flavors when I don't want to chop onions. haha. I have a food chopper but sometimes I just don't want to deal with it. Over the weekend I went through our supplies like batteries and canned goods to make sure we were set for the storm. Now it's taken a slight shift to the east and we may miss the worst of it. Fine by me except my son and his wife are on the east coast and they'll probably get it if we don't. They'll be fine I'm sure. They have a sturdy brick home and a generator if power fails. Thanks for the comments on my page. I love all those cute little critters on the background too. Have a good new week!
