Hello Wendy, hot as you know what here. Supposed to be a big chance of rain today but so far it's barely even cloudy and everything outside is baking. We may get a thunderstorm later. Yesterday at the coast was lots of fun. As you could see in the pics I shared, the water is so pretty down there. We were sitting in the beach chairs and kept seeing a quick black object out in the surf, I almost thought it was a shark's dorsal fin. (I watch way too many shark documentaries, haha) but after we kept watching we realized it was dolphins. I was excited to see them. They're fun to watch when they come that close to shore. The kids had rented a house down there that had a pool. After lunch we swam in the pool. It was not quite as cool as the ocean water but still refreshing.
You asked about hubby working, yes he still has in mind to get a part time job. I had a feeling he wouldn't take to retirement as well as me. Guess I'm more of a homebody and don't mind being lazy either. lol. Yes, he keeps a project going around here usually. So hot right now that he hasn't started a new one. Sure wish he'd get on my porch though. Guess you'll be at the Moose tonight or maybe you were last night? Have a good weekend, whatever you do! hugs from me
Hi there. Its a warm and humid day here. I could do without the humidity. Just got back from seeing out son and his finace'. They have finally set a date to get married. It will be October 7th. Hey Pal, well you've been busy cooking it sounds like. I use the frozen dumplings sometimes but hubby likes the drop dumplings the best. I use Bisquick for that and mix up the biscuit dough recipe on the side and drop it boiling chicken broth. I've been using chicken thighs lately. They make a good broth when boiled too. I made Chicken Salad on Sunday but did use only breasts for that. My oldes son and his wife stopped on the way to the beach and I gave them half of it to take with them on vacation as my daughter in law really likes it. They still live in Jax but were traveling east to west to the beaches on the Gulf side. They are much prettier than the east coast beaches, at least to me! We might ride down there for the day if hubby will go. (he doesnt' want to go anywhere) He's been bus with the lawn this week and we're back to watering everything daily in this awful heat. Your 80s sounds good to me! It was 96 here yesterday and 84 at bedtime last night! Did you see the super moon? It was so bright it was shining around my dark blinds in my bedroom. Good afternoon to you. I hope it isn't to hot where you live. I think most of the country is in a heat wave. We need some rain, even though we had plenty in June, its starting to get dry again. How is your afternoon going? Mine is going good. I had a nice nap and got the clothes going in the dryer. I always wash all the clothes together at the same time and noticed when I got them out of the washer a pair of my husbands socks were lite pink. I think a purple shirt that I had bought at the thrift shop might of turned them that color. If I would of known that one of them would turn something a different color I would of washed them by there self. We don't dirty enough clothes in one day to have enough to wash seperatly. Oh well, its happened before. He will just laugh about it. Well enjoy the rest of you afternoon and evening my friend and take care. Many hugs to you, Cheryl
The beautiful month of August is now here with all of its surprises and wonders that this month will bring us.
