Today, my husband John and I worked in our front yard. When we went in our backyard to put tools back in our shed, John saw a Monarch Butterfly flying around our backyard. John went into the house to get his camera and the Monarch Butterfly was still visiting our backyard when he returned. At first were were not sure if it was a male or female Monarch Butterfly. The butterfly stopped long enough for me to see that it was a female. We watched her fly from milkweed plant to milkweed plant until we finally observed her laying her eggs. We then examined the milkweed plants and found some eggs that I brought inside protect them from predators. I'm sure we missed some eggs but we will check again tomorrow!
