Just had to share this clipping. My Mother would make a fruit cake at Christmas time for the whole family to enjoy when I was growing up. Such memories! Later years married and children of our own a friend would make our family a fruit cake from her mother' s recipe of years past. It was such a treat to receive this yummy in the tummuy fruit cake for all those years. Treasured Memories! The old fashion fruit cakes were very heavy , moist and delicious. Smiles Gloria
Just wanted to stop and check in to say hi - I know you don't like canned graphics but.....hope you are well and not snowed in too deep. It's a grey rainy day here - yucky Friday but it starts the weekend. Have a great one, Mona. Warm hugs, Wendy
The spritz cookies are now baked and I have already tested some to make sure they taste just like a spritz cookie. hahahah yummy in the tummy. Merry Christmas to you and your loved ones.

One of my jobs today is snow watching and what a neato nice thing to do to make one smile and feel warm all over. Well your trick worked just fine -Mona - wish I knew alot more tricks, or just any really. We have red poppies here also for Veterans Day and it's big here where I live in North Carolina as it's a Coast Guard town, and honey did 23 years in the Navy and is a member of the local VFW and I am an auxillary member. We are going to the services that take place every year, but honey is going to represent the Fleet Reserve Assoc. as he is president but it will be at the same place. Then there will be free refreshments after. Supposed to be near 70 tomorrow - we'll see. Had frost last nite! Good to hear from you. Happy Veterans Day Hugs, Wendy
Hello and thank you for your note. It was much appreciated and you're very kind. I had written you some time ago, but probably "misplaced" it into the clouds somewhere - will definitely like to keep in touch!!
Today my wife Geralyn and I found a lot of butterflies flying around our enclosures this morning. I counted 14 Monarch Butterflies before we brought our coffee out to enjoy on our patio. Within one hour, we had another Monarch Butterfly eclose! We released 15 Monarch Butterflies today which makes the total Monarch Butterfly released to date at 168! Have a great day, John
Hi Mona, so nice to hear from you. We are begining to have some Fall weather at last. A cold front blew in Halloween night and dropped our temps substantially. All the trick or treaters had to dress warmly. We live in a rural area and don't really get trick or treaters unfortunately. We DO get visitors of the wildlife variety however. We have had a pair of foxes take up residency in the woods nearby my home and they have become very bold with their comings and goings in broad daylight. Last night one of them was barking/braying so loudly it was startling. They make a very odd high pitched sound. About an hour later I had set a hot cooking appliance out on my deck to cool off and heard a loud crash. We got up to check and an o'possum had knocked it off where I had set it. Lucky for him it had cooled off already or he certainly would have burned his snout. haha. Hope your day is good and you are enjoying some nice Fall weather as well. Beth
On October 30, my wife Geralyn and I attended our first Broadway Theater League play of the season here in Lafayette, Louisiana. This was one of our favorite plays and we did a really crazy video to see if you can guess what play we saw!
