A revelation by Jesus Christ, which God gave him, to show his slaves the things that must shortly take place. And he sent forth his angel and presented it in signs through him to his slave John.—Rev. 1:1.
The apostle John is a fine example of faithfulness despite changed circumstances and advanced age. After serving God for close to 70 years, John was exiled to the isle of Patmos “for speaking about God and bearing witness to Jesus.” (Rev. 1:9) Yet, his work was not finished. In fact, all the writings in the Bible that were penned by John were written in the final years of his life. While on Patmos, he was given the awe-inspiring vision of Revelation, which he carefully put down in writing. (Rev. 1:2) It is generally thought that he was released from exile during the reign of Roman Emperor Nerva. Thereafter, by about 98 C.E., when he was probably 90 or 100 years of age, John wrote the Gospel and the three epistles bearing his name.

Thought for the Day:

If Jehovah had a refrigerator, your picture would be on it.

If Jehovah had a wallet, your photo would be in it.

Jehovah sends you flowers every spring.

Jehovah sends you a sunrise every morning, face it- Jehovah
loves you!

Jehovah did not promise days without pain, laughter without sorrow, sun
without rain, but Jehovah did promise strength for the day, comfort for
the tears, and a light for the way.

Read this line very slowly and let it sink in:
If Jehovah brings you to it, He will surely bring you through it!

They bind up heavy loads and put them upon the shoulders of men.—Matt. 23:4.

The religious scene around us today is similar—if not worse—than it was in Jesus’ day. For example, recall that the first thing Jesus taught his followers to pray for concerned God’s name: “Let your name be sanctified.” (Matt. 6:9) Do we see the religious leaders, especially the clergy of Christendom, teaching people to know God by his name and to sanctify, or honor, that name? On the contrary, they have misrepresented God by such false teachings as the Trinity, immortality of the human soul, and hellfire, making God appear mysterious, unfathomable, cruel, even sadistic. They have also brought reproach on God by their scandals and their hypocrisy. (Rom. 2:21-24) Furthermore, they have done everything possible to hide God’s personal name, even removing it from their translations of the Bible. They thus hinder people from drawing close to God and cultivating a personal relationship with him.—Jas. 4:7, 8. w10 12/15 1:11, 12

A Fable for the Last Days

There once was a fox and a rabbit. Naturally, the fox fancied the rabbit for a bit of a meal, so he hid, waiting for the rabbit to come by, which is what eventually happened. The fox jumped out of his hiding place, and said with a smile, "Good afternoon, Dinner!"

Without a word, the rabbit turned and was away in a blinding flash. The fox, not to be done out of his plan so easily, immediately gave chase. The rabbit ran as he had never run before. He ran under fences, he ran through bushes, he ran in and out of hollow logs, he even ran through the culvert under the road. The fox ran right behind the rabbit, so close that several times the rabbit felt the fox's hot breath on his tail.

Eventually, the fox began to tire out, and consequently gave up the chase. But, the rabbit ran until he was well out of sight, and then he ran a little further. Without a doubt, the rabbit was also very tired. In fact, he had never been so tired in all his life. But you see, the rabbit was running for his life, the fox was only running for his next meal.

So, next time you feel tired out, remember that Satan is running for a meal, .

. . but you are running for your life!
