Broadway, classical (especially the Russians, Gershwin, Copland, Bernstein), Puccini operas, alternative rock, hard rock, New Age (honest!), and experimental stuff. I also enjoy some international music and jazz.

Beloved (a chore at first, but then, once you go with the flow, it's a pure masterpiece!); anything by Charles Dickens or John Updike; Colleen McCullough's 'Rome' series...

Black is quite soothing, but then I love bright neon-like colors against it! (A throwback to the 70s, perhaps?) I tend to like more "jewel-tones" than pastels or neutrals.

Vegetarian lasagna, any kind of vegetarian pasta dish, almost every vegetable in most available forms, and... dark chocolate! especially chocolate lava cakes (!!!!!)

Abuse of power in any form; injustice; unfairness; dishonesty; cruelty; blatant hypocrisy; unreasonable stubbornness.

I am appalled beyond measure by violence of any kind. I especially despise people who purposely hurt animals. I think that we are so closely related to other mammals that they should treated with the kind of respect that we want to be treated with ourselves. (I don't "own" the cats in my life; they are companions, not possessions!)

I wish that people who spend time "being religious" would spend their time and talents and money instead on directly doing good works that benefit mankind and our animal cousins. "Heaven" isn't some cloud in a far-off galaxy; it's here on earth - or, at least, would be - could be! - if only we made it so.

I collect vintage (pre-Barbie era) vinyl fashion dolls of the 1950s, such as Miss Revlon. I also collect modern 16" realistic fashion dolls made by such wonderful artists as Robert Tonner. I also enjoy making jewelry for my dolls.

I enjoy spending time by myself, whether it's on the computer, or crocheting, or creating with other materials, or enjoying the cats or my dolls.
