Had a small thunderstorm come thru a couple hours ago - didn't last long then the son came out shinning brightly once again. The enior center started having lunches inside at the beginning of the month and we went today. Have to sign up for the first two days of the week then for the three days. So if you don't like something they are having I guess you just wouldn't go. I got some good news, my dental placed called and had a cancellation for tomorrow so I took it. Will go after lunch. Guess I'll have a cavity or both filled. It's a school and they are upposed to be at least 30% less than a regular dentist. Not sure what my regular dentist charges but I'll ask. I also need a few crowns replaced. One thing at a time. How was your day today? I hope you haven't overdone it and that your houe is cool enough for you. Have a great eveing and night. Hugs & smiles, Wendy
Come with me into the field of sunflowers is a better line than anything you will find here, and the sunflowers themselves far more wonderful than any words about them.
LET THE SUNSHINE IN YOUR HEART BLOO, LIKE THE BEAUTY OF THE SUNFLOWER
Beautiful day - in the low 80's again with no humidity and no rain as yet. Rich went to a Mason meeting and I ate some leftover chicken wings and a little tomato salad I made for dinner. He eats there. He should be home soon. Meanwhiile I can watch what I like on tv as he always watches his shows. Trouble is, there isn't much on. Hope you get over the rest of your cold soon. Hugs, Wendy
It was a late night last night as the Texas Longhorn girls won two games in a row to be the first in history to be an unseeded team to advance to the World Series finals. The boys will start the Super Regionals this weekend.
I hope most of you saw Kyle Kid's post. I talked to George two days in a row and was so glad he told me he would try to get on and send a bulletin. Please keep him in your prayers as he starts more radiation on the cancer in his brain.
Would you believe I have a pair of red heart shaped sunglasses? Well, I do! And I already feel about the way that guy looks. At 9:30 it was only 79° but after 30 minutes outside watering, I came in with water running in my eyes (SWEAT). Yes it is Humid!
I am grateful for my plants and my friends. Most all my plants are really doing very good this year. I still have a few Bluebonnets blooming in the front flowerbed around the mailbox. And the milkweed plant (for Monarch Butterflies) just opened about half the pods and I gathered seeds and put them in an envelope to share with others.
Was another nice day here. Made a nice breakfast and had a snack around 2ish as we were leaving at 4 to play dominos. Got done really early tonite. I probably came in last again as I got stuck with some pretty big hands. Came home and took my shower and thought I'd gett on NOTH for a bit to see how you are and hope your weekend went smoothly. I couldn't live anymore without AC Cheryl. i don't know how you can cook and clean when it's hot in the house. Have a nice Monday, sweetie! Hugs, Wendy
The weekend is almost over but the sunshine is not. So we just have to sing the song and enjoy every day. Do you have a favorite pair of sunglasses?
Of course my favorite ones are orange. I have so many pairs to choose from and I rarely wear them at all. I got a few chores done today like hummingbird feeders refilled, indoor plants watered, a new block of bird seed put out (probably for the squirrel), and I always have several plants outside that are wilted.
Now as it is getting near sunset I am sure I will go out and take some pictures as I wonder what the rest of the world has done today. I love both sunrise and sunset! Which is your favorite and why?
The Arlington/Mansfield area had around 5" rain yesterday afternoon where we had 1/10". Get ready, we are due upper 90's for the next week starting tomorrow. The "feel like" temperature will be over 100.
Goodbye to cooler temperatures and cloudy days for a while. Ready or not, here comes summer and what perfect timing with school out. I must admit, I am NOT ready for the electric bill next month. Love this page of plants and flowers. We are going to be wishing for 70's real soon Cheryl.
It is almost time for Longhorn softball and then Longhorn baseball. So I had better get lunch served.
Hi Cheryl - Had a busy day - did a little out in the garden - thought it wasn't too hot - but could only work for a little bit. Wasn't gonna overheat myself like I did yesterday. The new fridge came today - they just pulled up - no advance notice as they had the wrong phone number. What a scramble to unload the fridge so they can move it to the garage and put the new one in place. Then had to put everything back. Threw two garbage bags away. I stayed home from going out tonite just to rest up. My hip held out all day so I hope it continues. my email was hacked and lost my e mails since last Fri. but finally got it and my address book. Got someone who actually knew what was wrong - also changed my password. Lots of work but am finally got everything straightened out. It's been so hot for 2 days and I thought it was gonna be cooler today - 82 - it felt like 97. Have a sweet nite. Hugs, Wendy
This is so true for me and it is very obvious because I don't look like this anymore.
Now let's get on with the weekend after all it is FRIDAY!
After all, there is no better way to enjoy it than fishing and napping!
My now 53 year old son and my Mom. And that pond is where my fish came from too. Sure do miss those days! So let's get out and enjoy the weekend and make some more memories!
I like your new page Cheryl. Glad to hear you are feeling somewhat better. Gargling with salft water is an old trick and it does work. Did you go to the doctor's? Sould like you needed an antibiotic. Yesterday and today it was in the mid to upper 90's - hot as all get out. I was stupid as when I got home from PT - my last day! - I went out and did some weeding and tryig to get the last 3 plants in the ground. I just couldn't make it - I was so weak I could hardly get back into the house. I only got two plants in the ground. Laid on the bed for at least 1/2 hr so I could cool off and feel better. Got in the shower and washed my hair. It was my own faut as I didn't drink anything this morning as I was gonna do a fast blood test after PT but couldn't do it and went to Micky D's afterwards to get something to drink and a cheesberger. The installation dinner for the FRA went well and we brought home lots of chicken, baked beans, cole slaw and potato salad, which we had to dinner tonite. Ate some of it up tonite, but still have some left. Tomorrow we get the new fridge - but of course have to take everyting out of the old, wipe it down and then wipe the new one down and make sure all the parts are there. What a job that's gonna be. Hope you'll be cool and comfy tonite. Hugs, Wendy
