Hey Chery - I've been busy today as Rich left early this mornng to go with his brother to Raleigh, NC. It's about 3 hours away. His brother is getting tires there for under $400 for four of them - maybe $350. Guess it's worth the price of gas to go there and back. They are on their way home and he should be hee any miinute. I didn't miss him as I love it when he's away as I can do so much around the house. I did some more cleaning and put a load of jeans in the washer that are ready for the dryer. It's 95 or so today with the heat index of 101 or about that. Only walked out to othe back to empty some scraps for the animals, but i see they didn't eat the sweet potatoes I threw out the other day, so maybe I'll stop and pick up during the winter. Also put fresh food out for the hummers and watered the plants. Picked alot of ths creeping vine from the plants - got a lot of it too but there is so much more that are hidden. I've been picking it everytime I go out looking. Not sure about your plants, but I know the cukes like something to climb on but the tomatoes should be ok in a pot unless it's not big enough. Have you fed them? I know one year my hubby planted a tomato plant out back - we had a tiny space - and he fed it and the plant was huge. If you do them next year, try feeding them and make sure you start the early enough. Watching the Pioneer woman that I have recorded. Not much on tv. Already watched a Lefetime movie that I recorded earlier. Got to watch them while Rich is out of the house as he's not crazy about the mushy movies. Have a good rest of the day. Maybe this tree looks better on me. What do you think? I am so glad we are friends and I can trust you to tell me the truth.
I have been trying to stay away from bright colors like in this tree. OK, it might have been the lightning that I was trying to stay away from. But after 65 days with no rain, I might just have to throw caution to the wind. Can't wait to hear your suggestions!
Hi Cheryl..............glad you had such a nice visist and yes I know what you mean by getting back home - like Dorthy said - "There's no place like home".......your own things and knowing wherre everything is and just being comfortable. Richie's brother called and asked if we wanted to go out for breakfast so we said yes. It was close to noon so we ate the special of chcken n dumplings - it was ok but too much slurry in the broth aking it too gooey like - too thick. I've alays wanted to make some but am intiminated by the dumpling part. Tried the frozen stuff but wasn't crazy about them. It's 89 here so not too bad , supposed to go up to 92 - it better hurry if it's gonna make that as there isn't that much time left. Made a small pork tenderloin last nite for dinner and will warm up the other half we didn't eat tonite and find something to go with it. Have a great afternoon Cheryl and keep cool. Hugs, Wendy
Goodness it feels like fall is trying to come in . A smile is on my face. Cooler day and night temps and I am so happy. The tiger lilies are in bloom in the flowerbeds and they are the last flowers to show up as fall is trying to come in.

Do you EVER have one of those mornings? You know, you wake up to problems. Then several hours later you are finally ready to start your day and still need some coffee.
I guess it really started at 12:45 am. The dogs all decided to bark and run out the doggie door after waking up the entire neighborhood. Thank goodness I fell asleep early watching a movie and already had 3 hours sleep by then. Went back to sleep for another three hours after finishing the movie.
Ok! So now let's get this week started.

It was a cool 89 today but hot if you stayed out in it too long. Think the nice breeze helped make it a nice day. Honey wanted to pull weeds and did it this afternoon - told hm he should go out at 7 when it's cooler. I had so many potatoes that needed to be used, I made potato soup - after all it's nice and cool in here. Hope you are having a good day - today had almost 14 hours of daylight Shirley! That's part of the reason I love summer - it stays light so long and is usually beautiful from 6 or so. Take care and keep cool. Hugs, Wendy
It is so HOT that fake plants are the only thing that might be alive right now. If you walk on the grass next to the driveways, it just CRUNCHES under your feet. There is no green anywhere. I hope you are having a fabulous visit with family!
Our friends have flown the coop. Ok, they are driving back to Lubbock. Just say a prayer that the doctors find out the cause of her balance problems. She just wants a solution so she doesn't end up not being able to walk.
They drove off and I just collapsed on Hubby's shoulder. I cried for a while. I already miss them so much. I used to do that everytime my son drove away. But we will see them again... until then our love will continue to grow!
Well, all 7 tests were done and they also talked to the surgeon. He is not 100% sure of the problem and doesn't want to do surgery and have her wake up and tell her that wasn't the problem. Woo Hoo for him! So they are staying another night as she has a balance test this afternoon.
As you can tell, I am excited that they are staying another night. I had so much fun yesterday with all 6 dogs. Pink is so well mannered, she won't come in or go out the door until she is given permission. Our dogs run over you!
So I am heading off now to spend more precious time with them this Friday before she has her balance therapy. Have a Blessed day and a great start to the weekend.

It was another 94 degree day here Cheryl and another do nothing day for me. Have been tired all day but didn't get a chance to take a nap and I was up really early this morning. About the only thing I did was cook up some pork chops that had been in the fridge for a couple days. We'll have them tomorrow nite - maybe. Tonite we met up with our friends for dinner. Then went to the post with honey's BiL and his wife for a couple of drinks. I didn't even have a glass of water. I really don't drink enough liquids but never have. I did go out and get a pedicure this afternoon. It's been a long time since I last went - but I try to stretch it out as much as possible as it's expensive. No one but me and Rich see my toes anyway but I do like to treat myself every so often. I get waxed too so I guess it isn't so bad. I know you can't wait to see your daughter and grands - I wish you a safe trip there and back and enjoyable time. Till Monday then. Hugs, Wendy
After 2 bowls of Chicken & Dumplings each, we are all four very full. Then had a light dinner with maybe another bowl for at least one guest.
Before dumplings and after dumplings were added. Now this pot is at least half empty! Then came the laughter to help settle the full tummies.
They have a small dog, like our 4, and this magnificent standard Poodle, named Pink. Carly and Pink played and played and played. Everyone gets along except for eating each other's dog food. We are blessed by our best friends of almost 50 years.
Our friends have left Lubbock and are well on their way. So excited! We have been friends for close to 50 years.
There will be LOTS of laughter going on and NO suppressing it! Can't afford any more spread to hips! So now I am off to clean bathrooms! I know you are jealous! Sending Blessings & Hugs because well...
