The weather here has been so nice these last couple of days - it's been in the low 80's and no humidity with a good breeze yesterday and again today. We run our AC 24/7 as turnng it off only heats everything up and then it cost more energy to cool them down again. It's better to keep it running - your hubby might think it will cost less money by turning it off, but it won't. Check with your local electric company. I might be wrong, but this is what our electric company puts out. Anyway I hope yoou get a break in the weather and things cool down for you soon. I have been in the house all day and only made the bed (do it everyth morning) folded a ton of whites and made dinner of chicken cutlets, gravy, fresh sliced tomatoes and corn on the cob. Such a good meal and one I like to have all summer long, swapping the chicken out for a steak. Hope you are able to sleep with just a fan in your kind of heat. I know it would be very hard for me to sleep when it's so hot in the room. Have a good nite and sleep well. Hugs, Wendy
What can we get into on this fine Thursday? You know we are closing in on another weekend.
We could go to the beach and watch the water ebb and flow as the sun comes up to begin the day.
How about a sail boat ride under the Golden Gate Bridge? I guess California, Nevada and other states are still dealing with Hillary so maybe that isn't a good idea.
Not sure if it is still this beautiful, but Crater Lake is so much fun to ride around on motorcycles. We did that many years ago.
I grew up in South Texas near Corpus Christ and it is beautiful. They got rain from Harold this week and what a Blessing it was for them.
The rain was still 300+ miles from us but all of Texas has been needing the rain. Our turn will be soon. Please keep praying for us to get a nice gentle rain. Now let's do a Rain Dance, please.
Wednesday is starting off slow. I need more coffee. Do I really have to get out of bed today? I love watching a good movie in the late evenings and then reading some in my latest book.
Some days are purrfect to just stay in bed and read a good book like... How to Kill a Mockingbird or How to Catch a Mouse.
Now you know why we don't have a cat. However, we do have dogs that don't like anything to be in their backyard, squirrels, bunnies, birds, mice, rats or anything that moves.
Good thing hummingbirds are very small and very fast and our dogs have never caught one of them.
So on this "middle of the week", stay in bed, read a good book, and don't worry about anything else. If you can get away with that!
It felt like 95 here today but it wasn't. Must have been the humidity. Got a hair cut today - we both did. He looks 100% better and I look good too - got it trimmed and shapped. Got jeans in the washer that have been there all day - keep forgetting about them and need to put the whites in too. Oh well I'll be up for several more hours. Have to get up early tomorrow to help in the kitchen at the Moose. Did that this morning and have been tired all day. In fact I took a nap later in the day. Probably will be the same tomorrow. Hope you have a good nite. Hugs, Wendy
Good Morning! I thought I was going to have to work today, but Jody's jury duty summons was canceled. So here I am to check on you.
August 3rd, Nicole got her Texas Drivers License. Her new TDL card is already in her possession.
Yesterday, August 21st, Will got his Texas Drivers License. What a wonderful month it has been.
I'm trying to remember when I got mine and I can't remember that far back. But I was so excited when Wayne got his and I could just toss him the keys and say... Go get us some milk!
Y'all better look out on the roads. I do remember the first (shortly after I got my TDL) and the last (leaving the Ranch about 30 years ago) time I took the bottom out from under the car I was driving.
Sometimes Monday can start off as lemons.... Let's turn it into bananas instead.
Oh No! Did I hear the "banana" word (like my dogs when we say "Snackie Time").
No matter what you are having for breakfast this morning, it is time to start the day off right.
After all, swinging into a new week right will set the tone for the entire week.
Because sometimes before you get things marked off your list for Monday it will be time to say goodnight. The next thing you know it is Friday again and time to party the weekend away. So get some sleep now.
Dropping by to say hello and wish you a Happy Sunday.. Hope all is well with you and your family. Had a few overly hot days this week, Tuesday evening at 9:00 it was still 108 outside. Just didn't want to cool down. Thankfully it has dropped back down to the mid 90's the last couple days. It was really smokey out on Friday. Wind blowing the smoke up from the fires in Northern CA. Not much else going on around my neck of the woods, just trying to muster up some energy to get some things done before the weekend is over. Take care, enjoy the rest of your day and have a great week~~ hugs, debijo
What a way to start the week or end the week... OK, to start or end any day.
Both coffee and a good book are very high on my list of favorites.
Of course, flowers and hummingbirds are also very high on my list.
Our dogs are always at the door to greet us when we come home. And there is nothing cuter than a puppy or a baby of almost any kind.
You should already know by now that Giraffes are very high on my tall list too.
As you have guessed by now, I have a very long list. Pictures and Life are also high on my list. However, Jesus is at the very top! I can't wait to see Him face to face.
Hope your Saturday was a good day. It'was relly nice here with lower temmmps and a nice breeze. Honey's daughter and boyfriend came and weeded all around the house and weed eated the little garden out front. It looks a hundred times better as it was way overgrown. They did an amazing job. I bought everyone subs for lunch and we were all leased. Have a lovely nite and weekend.
Lots and lots of HOT sizzling sunshine! Rain, oh rain, our yards and foundations are begging for a gentle downpour. But alas, we are still blessed compared to Hawaii and other places on this earth.
Yes, today let us think about the things we do have that have blessed us in many ways we might have completely overlooked.
This is entitled, "Canadian Beauty", but even our friends there have had fires and hot temperatures. It will look like this again next year.
Each and every one of us has some kind of problem, most of us more than one. Some of the problems will make us stronger and some of the problems we may never understand. But we have way more blessings than problems. Just sit down and compare your list of each.
After all, we are here with our friends and family and the rain is going to show up soon, just like the cooler weather. Have faith and keep counting those Blessings!
