Now I am off to refill my coffee and watch some more Longhorn Baseball and Softball. You are welcome to join me. I do hope you will bring something for us to eat though.
Good Morning from the South Texas brush country! There are times I really miss the Ranch and then I remember all the work it takes.
Just thought I would peek in on you and see what is new with you and your family.
Anything new or anyone new? What time a day do you usually get here? I always think I will start early, then after 2 or 3 hours, I finally get up out of my chair.
Is it breakfast time, lunch time or dinner time? Where in the world does the day go? Time flies by faster the older we get.
The sun is already setting! Are all your chores done or are you just starting them. I haven't colored one picture yet today, so I am out of here.
It is Friday and the rain has not started yet but it is on the way. Here comes the weekend!
Do you have a pet? Do you let your pet sleep with you or rather, do they let you sleep with them?
How can you say NO to that face? I can't and have never been able to say it.
I always wanted a Papillon and had one for over 14 years even though a Rat Terrier is my favorite breed. Our life was changed when Miss Kitty Wells arrived and has changed since she is gone. But she will never be forgotten.
Miss Kitty Wells would have been 15 on April 18th. She came to live with us at 6 weeks old. We have said goodbye to her.
My how she loved water from the beginning. She would always stand with her front feet in the water bowl to the very end.
She is with her best friend, Pecas, my son's first dog who lived with us in her last days.
Our 2 headed dog. What fun they had together!
And the other 4 dogs we have lost over the last 20 years. Miss Kitty joins Susie, Tilly, Cookie and Dolly as well as Pecas. We love you all and miss you all. Until we are all together again.
Which mask is your favorite? Those are thanks to my wonderful friend, Gloria. She is always surprising me with something. What a difference a day makes. We were in the mid 70's yesterday. We started at 65° this morning and before the sun came up we had dropped over 20 degrees. We are supposed to have rain on Friday and on Saturday morning. Hope you share your smile today!
What are you having for breakfast? Do you want to join me this morning? Coffee looks and smells delicious and the scenery is spectacular. If you join me, you are welcome to stay to help in the yard work today! Come on! Oh, by the way, I posted some of my granddaughter's photographs on my page. They went to Galveston and the Mardi Gras parade there.
Why is it that every Holiday, we run to the bank and/or check the mailbox several times to find NO mail. We know it is a Holiday!
We are in the upper 70's today and lower 80's tomorrow. I would say, "Just the way I like it." BUT we still don't have sunshine today. I am very tired of clouds and dreary weather. It is windy both days too.
Thanks for being my sunshine. I hope we have some tomorrow because we are going to vacuum (bag) the yard with the riding mower. I think it will rain on Wednesday. But I will check on you soon!
I know that Spring is not really here yet, but it is getting close because College Baseball, Softball and Basketball were all three watched by me last night. Go Longhorns! And I am heading in to watch more today since Church is over.
HELLO! I hope you are having a Blessed day today. Do you ever take selfies? Ok, you know what I look like from the picture above.
On a cold winter day, I might look a little different. You might not even recognize me. However, you already know that I don't enjoy winter!
If I have to go to town for some groceries, I do at least try to get out of my sleepshirt and get dressed. That is, unless I am not getting out of the car and just using the drive-through.
Then there are always those times when I wish I could just fly through the air and magically get things done. Well, that could be a very old picture of me when I could still do a pirouette.
I know... dream on! Yes, dream of riding the range at night with a millions stars peeking out as the sun is setting on another day. But when reality sets in and
Then I look at the "selfie" picture I took on my phone! I hope you will share your selfie and share your SMILE!
Sup??? We started the day at 30° and made it to 40° by noon. However, starting on Sunday, we should have a few days in the 70's. Yippee Yahoo!
My friend, Kay, took the picture on the left of an Owl in her neighbor's tree. They sure do blend in to their surroundings.
I have several friends that think this is my Hubby and I. You know, I just don't get it. I know Rbt wears funny shirts, but I don't think he would wear that one because it CAN'T be anywhere near true.
Which means this can't be anywhere near true either! Right???
Are you getting flowers for the love of your life for this Valentine's Day?
Or maybe you are making a BIGGER statement like skywriting. If you see a heart written in the sky, you could at least tell them it was from you.
It doesn't matter what you do as long as it is from the heart and with LOVE. After all, it is all about Love... but the greatest of these is LOVE. 1Corinthians 13:13
Share your love with a smile to everyone you encounter!
What do you do on a cold rainy night with lots of thunder and lightning? My granddaughter was watching the lightning out the upstairs bathroom window. When the thunder rattled the windows, both crawled in bed with their parents!
The backyard had our river running all the way through it. From 6 pm on Tuesday night until 9 am Wednesday morning, we had 2-3/10" of rain. We only had over 2.5" total in 36 hours.
As you can tell, we still have a lot of rain water standing in the front flower bed. Do you see the reflection of our roof? We hit mid to upper 60's Thursday and will only be in the mid 40's for Friday. Up and down! Come on Spring when the temperatures will level out.
The rain moved in mid morning and is supposed to stay through tomorrow. Good thing I got Taxes dropped off at 9 am this morning.
Now don't you think that is a good idea? My only problem is that I finished the book I was reading at 2 am this morning.
Now we are talking! I will spend some time deciding which book will be next. I am getting excited as I have several titles on my favorites list.
I am so trying to ignore my todo list that had 9 things on it today and only 2 have been marked off. Let's see rain tomorrow too... I'll try to get some reading and some things marked off today and the same for tomorrow. I can always erase my list and start over, right?
What a difference sunshine makes... 24 little hours... SING it all day long now! But isn't it the truth!
I thought I was going to have to pack up Teddy and find a new place to move or at least visit for a while. You know, someplace warm with lots of sunshine!
I was looking for a warm beach with LOTS of sunshine. But I needed the Longhorn channel on TV because today is College BASEBALL at noon! It is just the Alumni game but I am so excited. Then in less than 2 weeks there will be 3 days of Longhorn Baseball games in DFW at Globe Life Field.
I'll leave you with Peace on the Beach this Saturday as Spring is surely on the way soon.
What a difference the sunshine makes! As you can see the ice is beginning and I say beginning to melt as our temperature is only 35 mid morning today.
Yesterday evening and so far today have been the worst on the road in the DFW area, with most accidents, many fatalities, and most delays. People were lured into believing that the roads were clear along with many people having cabin fever! They got out and drove at high speeds and then hit patches of ice. Some drivers would come upon 18 wheelers that were stopped trying to get up a hill or over an overpass. So if your package is delayed, it might be in Dallas waiting for an airplane to take off or on a big truck still here.
Everything is in God's timing and since he skipped over me when he was giving out patience... I am having a hard time waiting for Spring and even the warmer temperatures next week. Guess I will go bake some blueberry muffins.
Oh my! I am so ready to get in the car and go somewhere. Now I can stay at home for a week, easily, unless I know I can't get out; then I get claustrophobic.
We have been at 33° for about 6 hours now and the roads are trying to clear but it is not warm enough to completely rid them of slick icy spots.
The ice may be beautiful to look at but it is so damaging to the trees and to the electric lines in our area. We are blessed to still have our electricity on.
And with all the ice melting there is no going for a stroll with a river running through the backyard and mushy ground everywhere. Maybe tomorrow I can run away!
Another day with almost nothing open... no schools, no banks, no local government offices, very few planes taking off and landing, etc. So we are not leaving the house. There are kids, adults, and animals outside but not for long. Everything is solid ice and not soft snow. More freezing rain in the DFW area and heading in this afternoon. I am wishing you Winter Peace for this first day of February and all month long. Starting Monday, we hope for a week of temperatures in the 60's.
I took this picture at 8:15 am. The sleet had already started falling. When I looked at about 7:30 and there was only a tiny puddle in the driveway but no white stuff.
Around 10 am we could hear the sleeting rain loudly falling on the plastic covering the plants in the backyard. This is a picture from the front where the icicles were hanging from the roof and forming on the youpon.
What a difference a couple hours make! Our total whiteout... you can't tell where the street ends and the grass starts. It is 28° at noon; 29° was high yesterday; 33° high tomorrow. About an hour after I took this, the Mail truck delivered our mail.
Wendy sent me this from Bowie. All 30 or so chickens are inside the coop. Can you see the Rooster on the top?
Is it Springtime yet? Barefoot walking in the GREEN grass! I am so ready for flowers to be blooming!
