Happy Taco Day, Darlene. Back from blooddraw and eating breakfast out. To rain all day, it appears. Ornamental trees are bursting open, and this whole week will provide them with ample rain. I doubt we're still in a drought zone, finally... yay! Stay well & dry:)
I have no answers re: daffies growing all over the place. lol They are the first here to make an appearance in late winter. Maybe that's a harbinger of spring for some. I have wondered about our surprise lilies' ability to spring up in different places each year. I'm assuming they're a bulb plant, but don't know. They were already in the ground here when we moved in 50yrs ago, and I'm always so glad to see them return, I wouldn't dare dig one up... such an unusual and brilliantly-colored plant. So glad we're friends, Darlene:) *hugs*
Daffies are everywhere. They were Mom's special ones... mine are daisies, plain and inobtrusive. Do you have a favorite? The wind has gone, but it did help dry out the ground a bit. What "frog-stranglers" we had. Have a nice Sunday, Dear Darlene. *hugs*
G'morning, friend! I know many are delighted by the warm weather and getting started on gardens and such. If you're one... Enjoy! I used to love watching our veggies grow, and miss that. None of them now (from store) taste as good. Have a great today, Darlene!! *hugs*
Our kitty gives us these looks daily, saying the very same thing! :) Have a happy Friday, Darlene. I've gotta have at least one more COLD day, 'cuz I need to use the self-cleaning oven cycle. No way can that be done in any other season. haha *hugs*
Hope your today is feeling down-home & cozy, Darlene. I want to re-visit some of these country scenes from "when". It felt different... back then. *hugs*
... I just know it is, Darlene! :) WoW! So glad you got your snow, and two nights of it! Did you get to see it falling? Good things come to those who wait, right? Wait... I 'been waiting... ... haha Enjoy and take lots of pics to post to your gallery so we can enjoy teh beauty, too. Have a super new week, pal. *hugs*
G'morning & happy Saturday, Darlene! Will you get snow from this latest front coming your way? Hope so, pal. Otherwise... we'll both just keep watching snowfall on our pages. *hugs*
Hoping your day is amazing, too:) I hear ya' about overweight, Darlene. I have to watch sugar intake, and seems the older I get, the more I want something sweet. It may be a mental thing? ha We ordered out for Chinese, another thing I can only splurge on, maybe once/mo. I get weary of changes in eating habits. Do you? Find joy today, pal. *hugs* -di
Good morning:) Having my last cuppa, then on to Tuesday chores. Happy today, Darlene!
We watch the Super Bowl for the ads, usually not having a dog in the fight, but ended up enjoying the tight game til the end.
Are you getting snow like Augie? 12" of pretty white stuff? Oh wow... send me some, whoever can. lol Our 24" blizzard of '93 began on March 12th, so I'll hang on a bit longer:) *hugs*
Have a delightful day, Darlene:) It's so warm outside I just wanna scream, but this and next month usually have surprises along the way... HOPE SO! lol *hugs*
An' dat's da truth! :) I hope we do have some winter still left for us, Darlene. Too, too early to be this warm. I usually am on way to bed around 10:00p. Sometimes maybe 11:00 if something interesting is on TV. Think I'll sit here awhile and watch your snow fall:) *hugs* !!
Be safe, too, Darlene, whether you have w/e plans or not. Yeppers, we still have our wee snowmen decor out and about in the house. It's not March yet, so they're still around. Y'know... those critters wouldn't know a shadow if they saw one, right? haha Hope you and DH are doing well, my friend. *hugs*
Wow, Darlene... a new month arrives and I'm not done w/this one. Maybe February will appease us snow-lovers w/some white magic on our lawns. Hope so! Yes, how I the coming months of sweltering, oppressive, stifling, humid, torrid heat. I have more descriptive words, but that'll do. lol Hope your midweek day is pleasant, dear friend. *hugs*
'Tis Friday! Yayyyy! Lots of us will be in the deep freeze for a few days, some w/snow, some w/o. Stay warm & safe! Yes, I remember "fish on fridays" from grade school lunchroom days. Fish is one of our favs, any day of the week:) The South is famous for our fried catfish fillets. Absolute tastiness... w/hushbuppies, slaw, pickled onion, fried pickles and fries. Have a good one, dear Darlene!
The sun is quickly warming the air from 14º to 28º this morning. Doc appmt day for DH, then takey-outey BBQ for our meal. Make this a really good day, Darlene:) *hugs*
Yayyy!! You got snow!! I bet it's beautiful laying as it was falling... I can smell it. Isn't it cozy inside w/the snow outside:) Y'all keep warm, Darlene. Enjoy! *hugs* -di
The first Saturday of the new year... wow. I hope snow comes your way w/this front coming thru. Do you take pics of events and post in your gallery? Whatever you do today, share lotsa smiles, Darlene!
Today to be chilly here; high 42º. I'm reading of a storm coming to the northeast U.S. this weekend. Be safe & warm wherever you are! Happy Wednesday, Darlene:) *hugs*
We had ham, blackeyed peas, broccoli & cornbread. Have no idea how collards are cooked, or spinach, or kale. We're not fans. NY leftovers in freezer; it's time now for s'ghetti and garlic toast! I'm hoping this year slows down a little bit... how 'bout you, Darlene? :)
We're having a cold snap. If you are, too... stay cozy! No butt cushions here, but sounds like a good idea. Some times I think it could be handy. Will look into that. lol We're waiting for our little tree's batteries to run down so we can remove them and take it to basement to join other Christmas things. Hope you and DH are looking f'ward to 2024. It'll be June before I remember not to write 2023! Have a good Saturday, Darlene! Glad you like the video... brings tears to my eyes. Childhood friendships are so very precious. *hugs* -di
The sun is shining, Darlene; cool days are ahead. It must be winter! 💙 We will have Christmas pretties put away by NY, keeping out snowmen decor to last thru March. Our latest snow of the season was 1st of April one year. After that I hang my "let it snow" in the closet til next time:) We don't do outside lites anymore. Gave away our trees, deer, shrubbery lites for someone else to enjoy. Lets savor this winter, and all its expectations:) Yayyy! ❄⛄❄ *hugs*
Wishing you a pleasant & peaceful Sunday:) Yes, saw Home Alone when it first came out and is one of the Christmas movies we watch each year. Maybe you're wrong and you'll get snow for Christmas. Will wish that for you. Thx for kind comment on my test page. *hugs* -di
