Slow day here - all I did was cut up all skinds of veggie to make hamberger soup - honey loves soup and I had everythig from green beans, carrots, to zucchinni - even had fresh basil and garlic to put in it. Turned out so good, had Italian bread and butter to go with it. so good - we each had two bowles and there isn't that much left! We are not in the path of Ian but we will get some rain on Friday from it. Have a dental appointment tomorrow - hope they can fix my one tooth - it was bonded almost 40 years ago and part of it broke off. The cable man is coming tomorrow as we got a new remote and can't get it synched to the tv, so he's coming to get it to work. Meanwhile the old one is working just fine. Hope you get cooler weather - it's been in the 70's to low 80's here. Haven't seen any hummers yesterday or today - seems a bit early for them to leave, but I'll still put out fresh food for them till mid October just in case. Have a good nite. Hugs, Wendy
Oh what a wonderful day it is today. I see my Hummingbirds up in my Juniper trees and Vitex trees all the time. Can you imagine seeing a nest or babies? Now that would make my day! A bird in the hand is worth 2 in the nest! And I do need to check my ivy plant just like that one! Prayers for everyone in Ian's path!
Have I told you that your page is so pretty, Cheryl? Well it is! I took it easy today too - was on the phone with a friend who I haven't talked to in a while. So we had a nice long chat till her doctor called, who she was expecting. I vacuumed the living room, dining area and kitchen. Just took a Motrin and honey is making dinner tonite of spam and noodles. So I'm catching a break there too. I thought he was gong to be in a meeting starting at 5, but it happened earlier. So I'm glad I didn't start cooking. It was a beautifu 81 here and I was sitting out on the front porch for a while. It wasn't breezy like it was yesterday but nice and calm. Hope your day was a good one and you'll enjoy and relax the rest of the day. Hugs, Wendy
I am so proud of my beautiful granddaughter and her Quinceañera pictures! I took over 70 pictures on Saturday, mostly of them getting ready. So funny and stressful at the same time. The photographer was awesome and I can't wait to see her pictures as I took a couple of ones after she set them up.
I sat on the patio for a little bit yesterday as the storms went around us and watched the six or so hummingbirds going from feeder to tree to flowers as the wind shifted to cooler temperatures out of the north. We are in the upper 80's this week instead of upper 90's.
Does that mean Fall is here in Texas? Probably not yet or for very long but I will "chance one eye"! Praying for all of Florida and all the people in the path of Ian. Thanks for sharing in my joy and being my friend!
Good afternoon Cheryl - hope youare having a lovely Sunday - it's in the mid 80's here sunny and breezy. Watching football right snow and might record the next game while we are over our friend's house as they don't watch it anymore. Just taking it easy and relaxing today. Hope everyting is going well with you and Boyd. Take care, enjoy and sing your heart out!
Good Morning! Now you knew I had to do Orange Hummingbirds, didn't you. They are all so very different and yet beautiful. We get to go see Nicole take her Quinceañera pictures today. She didn't want the party! Also hope to see all the pictures from Israel and the story behind each picture.
Hello again! There are so many different varieties of Hummingbirds... swordbill, long tail, etc. Even though most of mine are very plain, I can tell them apart from the different sizes and shapes and colors. How about you? Do you have more than one or two? I just got home from work but I had a great day talking to lots of clients!
The first day of fall brought us 92 degree weather and it didn't start to cool down till around 5ish when some dark clouds come over us but we didn't get any rain. We were waiting for Richie's brother to get back from Jersey who was bringing back subs, and Jersey tomatoes, also brought a bunch of small gourds that still had dirt on them. Washed up some but have a few more to go. I'll put them in a pretty bowl and set them on the counter. Still haven't finished the wreath I bought at Hobby Lobby yesterday. It's still on the counter waiting for me to figure out the placement. Hopefully I'll be able to get to that tomorrow. Did honey's whites tonite and he finished folding them while I was in taking a shower. Had a senior moment earlier today - went to the dentist and she said my appointment wasn't till next week - don't know why I had it on the calendar for today and thought it was funny why there where two dates for him. Oh well, we went to the post to wait for his brother but it was too early and I hadn't had anything to eat yet so we went to Taco Bell. I haven't been there since way before everything shut down for Covid. Gonna be 55 tonite - the AC won't be coming on tonite!! Have a good one Shirley. Hugs, Wendy
I walked in the silence of Autumn, Through solitude's sacred retreat; I sighed with the winds of November, Where Summer had bowed in defeat; Defeat, for her green leaves were faded. Defeat, for the bloom was in blight, And the balmy breath of her mornings, Had changed to the chill of the night.
“Life starts all over again when it gets crisp autumn air
you know autumn is here andsoonwinfer willbe on its way
Good Morning! Do you have lots of color in your day? How many different colors do Hummingbirds come in? Why are all the ones at my house so plain? Do you have any at your house that are as colorful as any of these? Life is AMAZING and thanks for being my amazing friend. I am working on Friday! See you soon.
Hope you don't have a poopy day! We are going to tie a record of 99° as our "feel like" temperatures have been over 100° all week. First day of Fall is when??? Oh, TODAY!
