It was 77 here - much better than 93 - unless we have Indian summer, we won't see those temps again till next summmer. Left at noon to go to Virginia to see Richie's doctor. All is good where he's concerned. We stopped as usual at a place to eat. Both had a big hamburger and could only eat half of it. I had a side of potato salad and Rich had cole slaw. We brought it all home with us and we'll hopefully have it tomorrow for lunch. That was my first meal of the day. Just had him color my roots - so I'll look decent when we go out tomorrow nite. I know with the heat you are experiencing, you still have your AC on full blast. I don't know how we stood it when we were young and didn't have AC back then. Well we did have one window unit in the dining room so we could eat comfortably. Take care and have a good nite. Hugs, WEndy
I did exactly what you did today Cheryl - nothing - not even washing. Got ready at 4 to go to a dinner for a friend's wife' birthday celebration - the usual Thursday nite group was there. Rich and I shared some Lumpia as he was eating at his meeting at 6 and I had a hamburger around 2 so I wasn't that hungry. The days are getting cooler here dropping by one dree every day - we were 85 today. Have a good day tomorrow. Hugs, Wendy
When you take a vacation and take pictures, do you ever think what it would look like at a different time of year or in a different season or under different weather conditions?
Have you ever captured a lightning strike on camera? How blessed is the person that captured this... a rainbow and lightning.
None of the lightning pictures I have are anything like these. Can you imagine... a heart and lightning going through a cloud. Amazing!
Have you ever known someone who got struck by lightning? After looking at this picture, just think about what happens in a body that gets zapped. I don't think I'm going outside with an umbrella anytime soon. I hope you will get out there and share your smile today!
Hi Cheryl - didn't feel like doing comments yesterday - took a break. I did read everything though. Got up early this morning so I could go to breakfast with Rich and his broghter since he invited us. It was good but I'm just not used to eating that early (or that much) as soon as I get up. Stopped at Walgreens to get my foot cream as I'm getting pretty low and I don't know when I'll get out to WalMart. Came home and caught up on my sleep! Have a load of clothes in as the electric company sent a text saying to conserve power between 3 & 6 pm. The wash will be done but I can't put them in the dryer till we come from from going out with our friends tonite; and that won't be till after midnite. We are gong to friends on the holiday - I'll find out from her tonite what I am to bring. I'm sure she'll ask the other couple who will be there tonite to come also. They are buying the motorhome from them and used to go to the Post also on Fridaynite nites, but have issues with the smoke also, as most Veterans do. Happy Friday! I'm loving the weather - it's 88 today but no humidity - a beautiful day so enjoy. Hugs, Wendy
Another 90 degree day here Cheryl but that's ok - the AC is still going strong and it wasn't that humid - only in the morning. Went food shopping today - didn't need too much but I was surprised that the shelves were empty of some things still, so we didn't get everything on the list. It's so frustrating. Trying to find a place to go on vacation with my sister sometime in the second half of Sept. Will have to make some calls tomorrow to see what the chances are I can go where we want. No plans for tomorrow but hopefully will go out Friday nite to the Moose with our friends. Can you believe August is over and Labor Day is just around the corner? Time is flying by - we are invited to our freind's house for a very small get together - will know when we see them Friday nite what she wants me to bring. Did water what is left of the flower garden but mostly everything has died off. But I did have a strawbery on my plant just last week - so strange but surprised! Have a good rest of the week. Take it easy.
Everything quieted down yesterday and we got all our errands completed. In WalMart, as we come to the end of an aisle, we always look both directions to make sure someone is not going to run over us as we venture out. Yesterday, after looking right and seeing someone in a glittery, very bright teal sparkle tank top, I quickly looked the other direction. Someone yelled, "PAM!" I thought, Oh No! She was the daughter of one of my best friends from South Texas. We began visiting in the middle of the store and another lady (neither of us knew) joined us. She overheard us talking about the Fire in Fate. I was sharing the pictures of the Fire, then my friend shared pictures of her dog, and our new "friend" also shared her dog pictures. You never know where a smile and kind words will lead you but it warms your heart.
I hope you will share your smile today and you just might meet someone new too!
