Evening Cheryl - hope your days have been good and glad you got some rain. We got some the other day and might get more tomorrow. It was a HOT day 92 - was in the house all day. Rich ran aroundand did errands. Got new LED lights for the overhead light in the kitchen - gosh what a difference. I've always complained about the lighting in the kitchen - stupid house builders never put a light over the sink cause it's at an angel. Should and could have but didn't. It's a lot better than it was anyway. Did a load of wash, ran the vacuum and other things, but can't do it all in one day like I used to. Made sloppy joes for dinner and fresh corn on the cob we bought when up in Virginia. Very good but small - will go to the local market to see how much theirs is and might pick some up so we'll have more. Hope you have a good sleep and sweet dreams. Hugs, Wendy
We did not get enough rain and now they are not calling for any more in some time, so I went out and watered good and fertilized all too, that's all done! Wen swimming and biking,
Good Afternoon! We are going to start with beautiful colors and a beautiful scene. Our day started just after 3am with dogs shrill barking. So I get up to see what they are after and immediately come back in to get Rbt up. They had a large possum about the size of Reba. Back to sleep after that was taken care of by Hubby. Then about 8am he goes next door to repair the hose with a splicer so we can still give the chickens water.Around 10am it was time for him to brush the dogs when he discovered Carly had a BIG rat. He gets that away from her and the dogs are still after something... 5 or 6 baby rats. Carly and Reba are a deadly team. J Lo is the cheerleader and Kitty can't hear anymore but she can sure smell danger.
J Lo, Carly Simon, Miss Kitty Wells, & Reba McEntire. The reason we are babysitting the chickens is because our neighbors are in East Texas at Jellystone Park on vacation. Today Olivia Jade is one year old. Isn't she adorable! So they are all on vacation for a few days enjoying the summer time fishing, especially big brother Bennett.
I hope you are enjoying your summer and find time for a vacation with family and friends.
Oh yes, it is hot hot hot, just came back from walking daughters dog. She's gone camping so i am looking after her dog and cat, hope your day is a good one
Hope you had a wonderful weekend as it is the start of another new week. Do you have any plans?
If you started with a great breakfast you are on the right track. I am still drinking coffee. Hubby is watering plants and crispy grass in the front.
My girls are in the Mexico City area for a couple of weeks visiting their other Grandma. Yesterday they went to a bookstore and bought some books.
Have you seen a bookstore like this? It has an upstairs too. What a big, beautiful place with tons of books! I guess I just don't get out to shop enough anymore.
And they have already been to Six Flags Mexico with their friends. So glad they are having a wonderful summer vacation. I hope you are enjoying your summer too.
Afternoon Cheryl - No comments yesterday - so busy. Went shopping out of state to a new grocery store for me - liked it but too far to go all the time. Did get everything on my list which was good. Then friends we always meta t the post, texted to say they were going to the Moose tonite so we met them there at 7 and didn't get home till after 1am. They have karaoke every Friday nite - none of us sing though but it was a good time . They are having 3 bands tonite for a charity for a young officer who has stage 4 cancer so all of us are going. So I'm sure it'll be another late nite for us. It's a cloudy day here and very humid - got heavy rain and another thunder storm ossible so I'll probably end up looking like a drowned rat by the time I get inside! Have a wonderful start to the weekend. Hugs, Wendy
Hi Cheryl - it was 92 but am staying cool as I've been in the car, at the doctor's office then at Outbeck for a late lunch. Got some rain - a thunderstorm actually - but the sun came back out afterwards. It didn't last very long and gave us some much needed rain. It came during diner where we were out to dinner with friends. We didn't eat though as we were still full from lunch. Have a great Friday - almost the weekend. As far as I know, we aren't doing anything. Did stop at a roadside market on the way home from the doc's and got some fresh (I hope) corn on the cob. I'll cook some up tomorrow nite for dinner. have a good nite. Hugs, Wendy
Is there any possibility that August will be cooler? We watered plants and then went to Costco, had lunch, and bought groceries. It is just stupid hot!
However, please let me explain. I am NOT in any way wishing for winter. But those of you that like it... enjoy the picture above.
Now if anybody, anywhere has seen the rain, PLEASE send it my way. We are already over 12" below normal and with these hot temperatures our grass is dying and large cracks are appearing in the yard and around the foundations.
It was 93 here too Cheryl. I was in all day too. Started making the dinner dish for Sunday. Thought it was Saturday, so I frozze it. I've never froze pasta , have you? I hope it turnes out ok as it has 1/2 & 1/2 and cheese in it. Watered all the plants outside a little while ago and fresh water for the irds. I need to go out and get the hummer feeds and give them fresh food then make more. I hope I have enough to give the three feederrs I have. Have been watching Lucifer epsodes. It used to be on regular tv then they took it off and moved it to a pay channel. That's the second series I was into that they moved to steaming and Rich isn't paying for any channles even though he can afford it. Oh well I'll watch what I can and be grateful even if it is a re run!. Hope you get a break from the heat tomorrow. Keep cool.
Open your heart as you step out today because there are always some precious and meaningful opportunities lurking around. Be prepared to catch and bag those opportunities.
It wasn't bad here today temp wise - only 89 but tomorrow they say will be 99. I was inside all day doing housework while Rich did some of his errands. He had the men's meeting at the VFW this evening and I went as a friend of ours was gonna be there after being gone for a while on vacation. We'll see them both Sunday nite for dominoes - it'll just be the 4 of us as the other gal says she has too much going on to attend. I cook and have to be careful of what I cook as they are still on Weight Watchers - the other gal and I are so tired of this (special cooking) like no mashed potatoes ect. and I'm sick and tired of cabbage. Hope you will stay inside where it will be cool. Wishing you a good nite. Hugs, Wendy
