Thursday is here again... already! The week is flying by. So much to do and so little time. Ok, all the time in the world (until the Lord comes anyway).
Time for the fairies to refill my cup. Ok, maybe my fairy is my Hubby, but still time for at least that second cup already. And maybe it is already past 1 pm today because he spoils me and I just don't want to get out of my chair.
Coffee makes the world more colorful, don't you agree? It usually takes more than one cup too.
I don't like it so hot that it melts the cup either. But the view is pretty great most days!
One of my favorite times of the day is in the evening when I put fresh coffee grounds in the coffee pot for the next day. I love the smell of coffee! Anytime is ...
It was a gorgeous day here also but I really don't think 84 is that hot Cheryl. I can't stand that it gets dark so early. Went to Sam's to get some things but they were out of a couple things that we wanted. That was aggrivating as it's a far way to go - about an hour one way. Did stop at the restaurant I liked and I had shrimp scampi and Rich had a shrimp basket. Both very good. There was supposed to be a meeting at the Moose tonite, but not enough officers were present as some had to be called away on an emergency, so we just stayed with our friends till closing. Came home, took a shower and am doing comments late - but here they are! Have a good Thursday Cheryl. Hugs, Wendy
Blessings upon Blessings to celebrate today. Yesterday afternoon, my son in Flower Mound (an hour away) called me on FaceTime.
They were getting really nice rain. It was only 70° and it rained for 30 minutes or more.
One by one the girls all gave up and ran back into the house. Nicole and the dogs were the last group to leave. Wayne and I talked for 20 minutes or so watching and listening to the rain, the lightning, and the loud thunder. He said it was the loudest he had ever heard. We even saw a fire truck go past.
He called me back on FaceTime and the house that caught fire was 10 houses down from him on the other side of the street. It looks like the windows all blew out and the 2nd story was very damaged. The lady & daughter were not injured and neighbors ordered pizza, but last night they got a bunch more rain which probably did more damage. So friends, count your Blessings!
Afternoon Cheryl - nice day here and I guess it is there too. It's cool when the morning starts and has bee in the mild 70's but today went up to 83 and it felt warm. Had an appointment to get my boobies squished this afternoon - oh what fun, right? After I went to chick-a-filet to get sandwiche and a large sweet tea and only paid $3.02 - saved $10 with a gifft card I had. Not bad huh? Rich left for a Masonic meeting tonite so I'm gonna turn on my house hunter's program that has been recorded and watch more of that show. Glad you had a nice time with your son. have a good rest of the afternoon and evening. Hugs, Wendy
I pray you had as wonderful of a weekend as I did! The Texas Longhorns and the Cowboys both won. Today, I have already watered the backyard, 1000 steps, and fixed both of us a bacon, 2 eggs, tomato sandwich for brunch. But I want to share pictures from yesterday.
My grandson, Will, just woke up from a nap in this picture after a big meal at Saltgrass! Do you get sleepy after a big meal? Will is sitting in a chair and I am standing next to him.
In this picture, you can tell that he is 6'6" or so. Wendy is 6' and Bill is almost that tall. So you can imagine how he has to bend in half to give me a hug!
A very blessed day was had by all 5 of us. Wendy & I ran a few errands and then the guys met us at SaltGrass. Then Wendy and I sat on the patio for a couple of hours watching hummingbirds and talking while Rbt and Bill watched the Cowboy game as Will took a nap.
My goodness it is hard to say goodbye! Not only do they now live 2 hours away from us but with both being real estate agents, their life is non stop busy. Wendy's phone also rings constantly with people needing holistic consultations. I miss them so very much, FaceTime just isn't a real HUG!
Sunday is here and I am so excited! Our adopted family is planning a 2 hour one way trip to see us today. We already have plans for most of the day.
Can you see the smile on my face? My cheeks already hurt. Even though Wendy and I spent an hour on FaceTime Friday morning, she on her porch and me on the patio at each of our homes, it just isn't the same!
This has always happened to us when they are here, the soul retreat! Since they moved to the other side of the metroplex, we just don't visit in person as much.
Amazing how it makes us appreciate the little things even though we have never taken our time together for granted. Well, maybe when they lived 10 minutes from us!
We are all 5 blessed when they come for a visit and when they leave. I pray you have a Blessed Sunday as well.
Didn't sleep good last nite and had to get up at 8am to go to breakfast with Richie's brother and wife at the Masonic Lodge. Then went to the VFW for a district meeting that was held at our post. When I got home I went right to bed and slept for about 1-1/2 hrs. Finally ate some brocolli soup around 8pm. Am hoping to be able to watch football tomorrow as long as it's not on channel 10 as it's still blocked out. I wish Rich would just drop Direct and go to Dish as I waited all year for football to come back on and now I can't watch it. have a good Sunday Cheryl. Hugs, Wendy
Good afternoon Cheryl. It's another beautiful day here. I was outside for a while and it couldn't be prettier. I've done some housework - vacuumed, put all the canned foods away and scrubbed a big sweet potato to add to our dinner of what was left of dinner last nite i also have a few small ears of corn on the cob Not sure if I'll do them tonite or not. Hope you have a good day and evening. We are going to the Moose tonite so we need to eat early since we aren't eating there and Rich likes to be there by around 6:30. Have a good day! Hugs, Wendy
We made it! Friday is here! I had a good day at work yesterday! I was very busy all day just doing lots of catch up for Jody.
Not sure how we can have so many rain clouds and get so very little. Not sure how they can predict rain every day for a week and each day change it to not a chance.
However, we are very thankful for each drop. 1/10" for each of the last 3 days. More will come in God's timing. The cooler temperatures have really been a Blessing!
Besides, now I can get out there and watch the hummingbirds and take another 20 videos for today! Not kidding either. They fascinate me!
