HI DEBIJO, THANKS FOR YOUR COMMENT SOME TIME BACK, CAN'T BELIEVER IT TOOK ME SO LONG TO ANSWER THIS ONE. YES MY A/C IS THE KING WITH THE HOSE OUT THE WINDOW AND WINDOW STILL NOT FIXED AS YET. HAD TO TAKE COIL OUT THE OTHER MORNING WAS ONLY 65 IN HERE WHEN i GOT UP WTH A SOUTH WEST WIND BLOWING RIGHT OFF THE OCEAN. BUT AT LEAST IT WAS COOL WHICH I PREFER TO THE HEAT.
ARE YOU FINISHED WITH THE PEACH SEASON NOW? SURE HOPE SO AND YOU CAN MOVE ON TO SOMETHING ELSE. DID YOU GET SOME FREE PEACHES FOR YOUR PIE??? HOPE SO, THAT WOULD BE NICE FOR SURE.
HAVE YOU GOT THE DECK RESTAINED YET? THERE IS ALWAYS SOMETHING TO DO AND NOT ENOUGHT TIME TO DO IT. WELL WE MAY HAVE THE TIME BUT JUST DON'T FEEL LIKE GETTING TO IT.LOL
DID YOU HEAR FROM THE GIRLFRIEND AS YET? TERRIBLE WHEN THEY DON'T HAVE THE MANNERS TO DO WHAT SHOULD BE OBVIOUS. HAPPENED WHEN MY BROTHER PASSES AWAY, NO CALL FOR 4 DAYS THAT HE HAD PASSED. WAS JUST DEVESTATING NEWS WHEN I DID FIND OUT. ..
HOPE YOU WILL HAVE A GOOD WEEKDN DEBIJO, TAKE CARE AND BE WELL. BIG HUGS, AND LOVE MOE XX
Hello Moe, thanks for your comment and the cute little tag with the mice. You were really on the ball this time lol... I know what you mean about not really being in the mood to be on here all the time, I get the same way. The darn time just goes by so fast and so many other things to keep up on, just don't always have the time or energy to get on here. Glad your air-conditioner is working and hopefully someone can fix the piece that goes in the window. So, I am assuming the kind you have sits on the floor and has a hose that vents out the window rather than the kind that actually sits in the window right? Sounds like your weather has been pretty much like ours. At least our temps are back in the 90's which is much more tolerable than over 100 and the evenings are cooler also.
Well, the peach season is wrapping up, should be finished this week with the local pick. Will probably have more gifts to pack up with buy-out peaches from CA. I do hope to get some cause a nice peach pie sounds pretty yummy with lots of coolwhip on it, other than heating up the house to bake it lol...
Not really too much going on around here. Did get the mowing and watering done. Still have plenty more to do. Would kind of like to get the front deck restained today, or at least part of it. Something I usually do before Winter sets in.
You asked about my brother, and sad to say he passed away on Wednesday. Only a month and 2 days after my mom. (sigh) I don't think there will be a service. Think he wanted to be cremated. Just don't really know what is going on, his girlfriend didn't bother to call me. I got the news from my daughter who got the news from my nephew. I tried to call up to his house but she didn't answer and she doesn't have a cell phone. More than likely she is staying with her daughter so I don't even know how to get in touch with her. So, I don't know if she needs any help with anything, or what they are going to do with the trailer he lived in or nothing. Kind of irritating that she can't pick up the phone and call. I gave her both my home and cell number so she could keep me posted. GRRRRR... Anyway, maybe at some point I will find out what is going on.
I suppose I should finish up on here and get a few things done before day is over, sure seems to be flying by. You take care of yourself Moe, try to stay cool and I will touch base again soon. Enjoy the rest of your day and have a great week~~ love and hugs, debijo
Everything quieted down yesterday and we got all our errands completed. In WalMart, as we come to the end of an aisle, we always look both directions to make sure someone is not going to run over us as we venture out. Yesterday, after looking right and seeing someone in a glittery, very bright teal sparkle tank top, I quickly looked the other direction. Someone yelled, "PAM!" I thought, Oh No! She was the daughter of one of my best friends from South Texas. We began visiting in the middle of the store and another lady (neither of us knew) joined us. She overheard us talking about the Fire in Fate. I was sharing the pictures of the Fire, then my friend shared pictures of her dog, and our new "friend" also shared her dog pictures. You never know where a smile and kind words will lead you but it warms your heart.
I hope you will share your smile today and you just might meet someone new too!
This started around 5:30 am this Tuesday morning about 2 miles from our house. It was an apartment complex under construction. Just the framework was up and pallets of wood all around.
It is just off the I-30 exit and could be seen from many miles away. Of course you could not get out of our neighborhood because streets were blocked off. Also the interstate was backed up for many miles because of "onlookers".
We are so blessed that no one was injured that we know of right now. All that fresh lumber was a very hot fire and Fire Departments from all around joined in to help. Thank you!
I was watching a video of it and you could see the apartment structure collapsing as it moved through the building. After 3 hours or so the fire is contained and hopefully completely out now.
Not sure if we will be able to get to town today or not (Taco Salad Tuesday from Rosa's, you know). Right now we are just counting our blessings and sharing them with you.
We did not get a shower to come across and help put out the fire, but we were sure blessed with no wind to spread the fire either. Blessings upon Blessings!
Our grass got way too tall as you can tell in this picture. The backyard gets more water (from the Septic system) and has more shade than the front. Both are now mowed!
I am believing that we will get rain tonight AND tomorrow at our home. We sure do need it. I still have areas of dead grass and plants that are not coming back ever.
Rain would make me happy, but right now... food would make me happy too. So what are you having today? I am now off to find something to fix for lunch.
Happy Saturday! It's the Weekend or just another day for some of us. We don't like going to town on the weekends and fighting our terrible traffic.
Isn't this a clever idea? I hope that you get to spend time with the Grands. I got to FaceTime and watched Michelle play volleyball on Thursday.
Maybe some of you are lucky enough to get to go dancing over the weekend. That used to be one of our favorite things to do. Hubby's health won't allow us to do that any more but we still listen to great music.
So whatever you are doing... OWN IT! Be the best you can be and share your light and love.
Here we are on another Friday getting ready for the weekend. Hubby has been pulling weeds in the front flower bed for 3 days and is hopefully half way. It got way out of hand with no rain to soften up the dirt for 3 months.
This weekend don't forget to be in one of those 3 places to each and every person you are around. Love is what this life is all about.
We all need a nudge of love and encouragement. A big smile is the way to start so share your smile everyday.
Try to treat others the way you want to be treated. There sure needs to be more of that in this crazy world right now.
The fun isn't over yet. Every day is a new adventure. Is there anything exciting going on in your world this Thursday?
Never grow up, never give up! Always look for the fun in whatever you are doing. Just look at those smiles... well, except for the chickens maybe. Hope you are laughing!
Now, on a more serious note. Does anyone have any extra "3X Tall" shirts? Yes, my grandson who just turned 16 years old is 6'5" tall and he lifts weights. His mom is right at 6'. He just got new boots that were on sale, probably because no one else needed that size.
My bestie since 3rd grade, shared news about her grandson, who is part of my family. He is a sophomore in High School and just made the varsity football team. He does all sports, swimming, cross country running, basketball, etc. So all this comes natural to him and we are all so very proud.
OK, this Gram is done bragging for a bit. Tell me what you are most proud of today! Blessings & Hugs from me to you!
Oh, how true is that! The 2" total of rain we got and the drop in temperatures with cloud coverage has sure made a difference in plants putting out blooms and new growth.
The passion vine was wilted every day but now look at the blooms which have a strong scent. Amazing when you walk past and get a smell.
The colors in the sky at sunrise are another noticeable difference as fall approaches. The clouds in this picture are one of my favorite patterns. I have lots of pictures like this over the years.
Of course, I do enjoy the evening pictures too with all the colors of the clouds. What is your favorite time of day? Yesterday after taking a panoramic picture, two hummingbirds that I had seen playing in and around the Vitex tree, went up about the roofline and hoovered in mid air for a minute. As I was about to get my iPhone up to video them, they dive bombed me. What was your day like?
HI THERE DEBIJO SO NICE TO HEAR FROM YOU DURING THE WEEK. UNUSUAL FOR YOU. FIRST, I WAS REALLY SORRY AND SEND MY CONDOLANCES TO YOU DEB. HE MUST HAVE BEEN VERY ILL. TAKE CARE AND BE WELL DEBI, THINKING OF YOU AND ALL THE BEST FOR YOU. LOVE AND HUGS MOE XX
For months we have watched and waited for rain to come our way. It would get so close to us and just dissipate. Now it was our turn and we were singing praises.
Here, hold this please while I just touch it, feel it, and maybe even play in it. I just kept going outside to watch it because I couldn't believe it was really raining.
Do a little dance! And shake your booty!
We ended up with 2" over a 2 day period which was just enough at just the right rate. Sun came out late in the day. Yes, lots of areas got way too much rain way too fast and had flooding areas. But crazy people would get out, check to see how deep and still drive into it and then get stranded and rescued. The cooler temperatures are wonderful.
They say the best way to cure a drought is a flood. Areas around DFW have proven that statement true. The 8" in east Dallas all came in 3 hours. Those totals were before 8 am this morning. More rain is happening now.
It is NEVER fun driving in DFW but when the "canyon" has over 5' of water in it and people drive into that water and have to be rescued, it can cause delays of about 4 hours.
We have had a gentle rain for over 12 hours now and with our shower yesterday, we have about 1-1/2" of rain now. No rain standing but enough that weeds can be pulled. BLESSED beyond measure!
And yes, with cooler temperatures, more time to sit outside and enjoy watching the hummingbirds go from flower to flower in the Turks Cap.
Maybe even time to finish my book and start another one as I count my blessings. You are one of those blessings that I am counting today!
So, how was your weekend? Did you go anywhere? Do anything fun? Shop? Go out to eat? Now, don't be too shocked.
But we actually went out to eat at a sit down Italian restaurant! We celebrated with our friend who turned 66. There were a total of 9 couples in the party room and we didn't know any of them (except the birthday couple). However, the loving fellowship was so evident (4 of the couples go to church with our friends).
They were nice enough to start the party at 6 pm so we could get home as it was getting dark. Now let's get this new week on the right track.
Friends, family and people you don't know yet are all part of sharing your smile and showing love to each other. Hope your weekend was blessed and you are ready to start this new week off on the right track. Let's do this!
Thank you for letting me know about your weather and that you are not in the desert. It sounds like a beautiful place with the mountains lakes and rivers. I have never been out west. I love hearing about where my friends live and places I have never been. So interesting :) In our weather department we could sure use some rain. We were supposed to get some last week but never did. Fingers crossed for this week or I will have to water again. Hope this weekend was a relaxing one for you. Have a great new week. Hugs, Jackie
Follow your heart! Blessings this Sunday and everyday. Our temperatures are in the low 90's instead of 100's which is a blessing. We haven't had any measurable rain at our house, just clouds even though others around the area have had a shower or two which is a blessing.
However, there are chances of rain in the forecast for several days this week which is a huge blessing. So many things to be thankful for every day that my heart just swells.
So as we start this new week, share your heart and your smile with everyone you meet. Thanks for being a blessing to my heart and in my life.
"And may the Lord make you increase and abound in love to one another and to all, just as we do to you, so that He may establish your hearts blameless in holiness before our God and Father at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ with all His saints," AMEN. 1Thessalonians 3:12-13
