Yesterday was a very busy day. What did I accomplish? Lots! How about you? Doesn't this weather just make you feel good enough to get lots done?!
So let us get out there today and make a joyful noise! Share with others the happiness that is in our heart. I can just see you now...
Oh wait, that looks like me singing. All I can say is that it is a good thing you can only see me and not hear me. And here is another picture of me...
Thankful Sunday! Be sure to read the bulletin that I posted that Dove (Sue) shared with me.
Boy, if we could just bottle a day like today. We started at 43° this morning and should be in the mid 70's again today. I like fall when the temperatures give us a break from the 90's and 100's ... but there is nothing like Spring when new life starts to appear and I know we are changing our time for more daylight.
So, I'm off to enjoy the last part of this weekend and see what hasn't happened yet. Hope you are doing the same as the Blessings & Hugs are being sent to you!
It is Friday and the weekend is in sight. The winds are slowly shifting from S to W and soon N. We are 78° now and "supposed" to be in the 40's for 3 nights in a row. Then a week of 50's for lows and upper 70's for highs. It will sure be nice weather for the last weekend of the Texas State Fair.
In just two weeks we will "fall back" and it will be dark by 5 pm. I really hate falling backwards. Wish we could leave the time change in the "spring forward" mode forever.
So are you almost ready for next weekend? My girls would NEVER stand for this. Well, if they knew a treat was coming they might.
I have done my part. I have changed from Pumpkins to Bats. This picture doesn't do it justice because they change colors from iridescent blue to iridescent purple. Bats are really good creatures.
Share your smile.
The wind just changed to the North and blew stuff in the entryway to the floor.
Or the bats knocked it down. I just can't decide.
But Blessings and Hugs are wished for you this weekend.
The rain is gone and it is a misty, dreary day. We are still a little warm and humid but cooler temperatures are promised for us in the next week. Tropical Depression Pamela gave us 2" but areas (Kyle Kid included) got up to 5" of rain.
This is the perfect weather for a nap even though I rarely take them. My Hubby would say every day is a perfect day for a nap.
I just don't seem to have much "get up and go" today. But alas, we have errands to run. So I best be getting in gear.
HI THERE DEBIJO, A LONG TIME SINCE WE HAVE BEEN IN TOUCH. THE DAYS GO BY AND THEN THE WEEKS, HERE WE ARE IN THE MIDDLE OF OCTOBER AND SOON WILL BE INTO THE CHRISTMAS SSEASON.
I DO HEAR FROM MY SON EVERY DAY AND ONCE A WEEK WE TALK ON THE PHONE WHICH IS SO NICE. TODAY HE HAS GONE FOR A HAIRCUT AND THEN TO THE BANK. SO THINGS SEEM TO BE ABOUT THE SAME ROUTINE AS IT WAS WHEN HE WAS HERE.
I HAD A NICE THANKSGIVING BUT WAS SO QUIET, FRIENDS TOOK ME OUT FOR DINNER THIS PAST WEEKEND AS MY BIRTHDAY WAS ON THE 10TH, THEN THANKSGIVING . WAA SO NICE THAT I COULD GET A NICE TURKEY DINNER EVEN THOUGH I DIDN'T MAKE IT MYSELF. WAS SO MUCH APPRECIATED.
HOW AWFUL YOU ARE WORKING SUCH LONG HOURS AND DAYS TOO. MAYBE THIS SATURDAY IS THE ONE YOU WILL HAVE OFF , IT MAKES IT HARD TO DO TOO MUCH IF YOU ONLY GET THAT ONE DAY OFF PER WEEK. I WOULDN'T LIKE IT AT ALL.WORKING EVERY OTHER SATURDAY AS YOU SAY WOULD BE THE BEST THING.
I DO GET OUT WITH MY FRIENDS FOR A COFFEE EVERY MORNING, SO THAT REALLY HELPS. COULDN'T STAND TO BE IN THE HOUSE ALL DAY.
RAINING HERE THIS MORNING, AND THE SUN IS TRYING TO COME OUT , WOULD BE NICE IF IT DID.
DON'T YOU WORRY ABOUT GETTING BACK TO ME DEB, ANYTHIME YOU HAVE SOME SPARE MINUTES AND FEEL LIKE IT. THIS IS ALL FOR NOW, DO HAVE A GOOD DAY, , THINKING OF YOU, TAKE CARE AND BE WELL. LOVE AND HUGS MOE XXX
Hi Moe, how are you doing? Sorry I'm late getting back to you again. I see you have changed up your page. I love it, you did a great job.
Glad you finally got some rain. We did also but it only lasted a couple of days. Needed more really as it is so dry still.
Oh my, I am so sorry your son and girlfriend decided to move to Mexico. I know that must be really hard for you. He was so much help to you and good company as well. I'm sure it will take some time to adjust to him not being there. He has been with you for quite awhile. I remember it was quite the adjustment when he first moved in with you but it turned out to be a blessing in the long run. Maybe you will be able to spend more time with your friends going out for coffee or lunch to kind of fill the void until you get used to being alone again. I sure hope they will be able to find the time to come visit you on occasion. Who knows, maybe when this whole Covid and vaccine thing dies down they will come back.
Still busy at work. At least I had two days off this weekend but will have to work the next 3 Saturdays (sigh) then will get the 4th one off. I really don't think that is going to work out well. People don't really want to work 6 days 3 weeks in a row. Nobody will show up. I think they should just work every other Saturday. People just get too tired and then don't have any time to do things at home or spend time with their families. Anyway, guess we will see what happens. They are giving everyone a 2 dollar raise starting tomorrow to see if that will help with getting new people. I can handle an extra 2 dollars an hour even if it is only for the Season.
Well, I best get going, it is getting late and I still have a few things to do then off to bed I go. You take care of yourself, enjoy the rest of your evening and have a great week~~~ love and hugs, debijo
good-morning, been really busy the last few days. taking advantage of nice days to get all of my outside stuff done before it gets cold out. hope all is well with you and you are enjoying this fall season..marykay
Everyone in Texas is talking about me... I am on the news a lot. OK, I am also getting a lot of text comments from my friends too... troublemaker, dangerous, crazy, wreck havoc, naughty, go somewhere else...
Now come on, is that fair? We are getting a light shower right now but we are promised rain tomorrow. They should all be thanking me, right?
Just wait until tomorrow. Ok, I am working tomorrow so enjoy Taco Tuesday and Enchilada Wednesday. I'll be back soon so share your smile with everyone you encounter because the sun will soon be shining again.
Monday is half over, but I have a question. Does anyone else have strawberry plants? I have 4 of them right now. Three are in hanging baskets and one in a regular pot. Two of them are hanging side by side.
I just ate two big tasty strawberries off of this plant last week and would you look at all the blooms and new strawberries growing. This crazy plant has been giving me strawberries for about 6 months.
I just wondered if anyone has any experience with strawberry plants and why this one plant is so prolific when the others are not. I even gave a couple of plants to a friend earlier this year. All four of the plants I have are putting off babies.
Debijo, always good to hear from you. Sorry you are having to work so many hours each week!
Weekend isn't over for everyone yet. Some people have Monday off for Columbus Day and in Canada Thanksgiving Day. So I hope everyone has a blessed Sunday and Monday. We are expecting storms to move into Texas late Sunday evening.
Now look closely. Can you spot J Lo blending in? She is laying on the dog mat, sneaking up on the dog food. What joy all of our dogs bring us!
So are you getting ready for Halloween? Do you have a costume or one for your kids or pet? Do you really think our pets hate us when we dress them up?
I do know when they love us... when it is snack time. Do your dogs get table scraps or just dog treats and dental chews? Our dogs get a lot of treats and chews and every now and then they might get something that I am eating.
I know when we are gone they eat very little. But when we get home the bowl seems to empty right away. Lots of times they go to the bowl (it is always down) when we are eating at the table.
Guess I had better go find something for us to eat and make sure they have food too. Blessings & Hugs are coming your way.
Oh my, is there a more true statement? Well, not that I know of anyway. OH! OH! Wait... I might have found one...
It is already 2:30 and I have been trying to get here since I finished watering the backyard early this morning. Hubby got the front watered.
I get in the computer room and just get lost in, well, I'm not sure what. OK! I might have taken 50 pictures this morning of plants in our yard. Then uploaded them to the computer and into an album. I will post in Bulletins for those who didn't get the email from me. And I might have also airdropped 70 more from a friend and put them on my iPad and loaded them into a Google album. So where does your day go?
And I haven't even had breakfast or lunch yet! What are you fixing today? Hubby gave up and had a sandwich. If I wait long enough he might end up with cereal for dinner.
Oh what a beautiful morning! Oh what a beautiful day! I got a beautiful feelin' Everything'g going our way! Now that you have a song in your head all day, I am positive that everything is going our way.
Especially since I've had two cups of coffee earlier and just now two Bacon, Egg, & Cheese Taquitos from WhatABurger! So bring on the day. I can handle it.
Even upside down! How about you? Is everything going your way? I hope it smooth sailing for you as this week flies by!
Just have fun, go with the flow, share your smile with everyone you encounter. I love all the Halloween and Fall pages.
We got one nice downpour shower on Saturday that gave up 1/2" of rain and filled my 4 buckets that were empty. So now I have water to pour on the plants under eaves that don't get a drink when it rains.
We had a great weekend but don't know what we actually did other than watch college football all day Saturday and NFL all day Sunday after our three Church sermons online. As you can see I have already been outside and my strawberries are still producing. I already potted 5 new plants that someone shared with me.
HELP ME!
You can tell what Hubby is doing. He is on the last of four dogs now. For the most part, they are not excited about bath time but do tolerate it.
So I guess I will pay a few bills and see what the rest of the day holds for us. It is national Taco day, but we will probably wait until tomorrow.
What difference does the change of a month make? Sometimes none at all; then we have from September 30 to October 1. Oh my, the leaves start falling!
But why can't they all fall in a nice neat pile instead of all over the yard. And about the time you get them raked up, the wind comes along and you get to start all over. Or after you get them bagged, the tree decides to drop another bunch of leaves.
Doesn't Snoopy make it look easy! Well, life may not be that easy but it sure can be fun. I am praying today, this 1st day of the wonderful month of October, that your Friday, your weekend, and your month of October will be fun and exciting!
We just finished the last of the Chicken and Dumplings. And yes, it was delicious. So now it is time for a Peppermint Pattie!
We have been to the Glaucoma doctor and to the Optical store to pay for Hubby's glasses. We did stop and buy a lottery ticket. Hubby always buys one for him and one for me. If there is a winning ticket, it is his ticket not mine.
We still haven't had a drop of rain but they keep promising us it is coming tomorrow. This is the third day in a row they have said tomorrow.
It is almost time to go check on the chickens, give them fresh water, throw them some mealworms and collect eggs.
Have you ever had fresh "from the hen" eggs? Oh my gosh! They just have such a wonderful flavor. So now I'm off to water the plants and watch for hummingbirds.
