Praying for everyone in Louisiana and Mississippi and all in Ida's path. We are blessed with clouds today and hoping for a sprinkle or two of rain as we just finished mowing the yard. The St. Augustine grass was so tall that I couldn't see what shoes I had on my feet.
I looked at the radar as I started this note to you and there was a small shower maybe 30 miles from us. Everything just now got quiet and I could hear rain. I looked at radar again as a shower popped up on top of us. Now it has quit. Blessings from Heaven on our newly mowed yard for 2 minutes.
Now it is time for lunch. What is a girl to do? How does cooking (or fixing something to eat) come around so often?
And all I want to do is read or maybe watch some football or the little league playoff game. I hope you had a blessed weekend and shared your smile.
Just finished the 2nd book in the Three Rivers Ranch Romance Box set of 3 by Liz Isaacson. Miss Kitty Wells, our Papillon, got groomed today and the other 3 got their nails trimmed.
So you would think that everyone was all dressed up and ready to go out. Guess what?!? They are all taking a nap. Sometimes this is the most exciting place to be... or not.
I guess that is what happens after a delicious meal. OK, I sort of cooked. I made pancakes and pan sausage for our meal of the day around 12:30. Don't laugh and don't look so shocked!
For the past week, every time we have seen an iHop commercial, we have talked about how they don't taste as good there as the ad makes them look on TV. Well, mine tasted better than iHop!
You are such a good friend. I really appreciate you not laughing out loud at me even with my new haircut.
Another Friday is already here. I did finally get a haircut yesterday from a new stylist. She took her time and it felt like I was being pampered.
So here I am trying to see what you have been up to this week as the month of August comes to a close. I know that next month the temperatures should cool slightly in Texas and I am ready. We are also going to spray for mosquitos because when I go out in the early evening to water, I get lots of bites.
Guess which fairy looks most like me. Hint, there is no gray hair showing on my head at the moment. OK, guess which fairy I think of as looking most like me. Where did the years go?
So now I am going to wish you a Blessed weekend and ask that you remember to share your smile with everyone you encounter.
We have another beautiful day. Should be only 99 and normally we don't hit 100 after about this date.
I made hummingbird food yesterday. Today I have to bring in the feeders to clean and refill them. Don't want the hummingbirds to think there is no more food as the feeders are almost completely empty.
I will soon have a crop of butterflies. This caterpillar only feeds on the Passion Vine plant. Here is what it will look like.
I also have bumblebees that are hungry. This one looks like it hasn't missed a meal in a long time.
Yes, my yard is a zoo with birds of all kinds and sizes, hummingbirds of several varieties, butterflies of different colors that are hard to video, squirrels, frogs, crayfish, wasps, flies, grasshoppers, ants, fire ants, mosquitos, caterpillars, and lots of other hungry critters.
And the weather will start to cool off a bit in the next 3 months or so, hehehe! But you are always invited to come over and sit on the patio and watch all the activity. However, I do have quite a few (ok, a whole bunch) of bites on my legs and arms from mosquitos.
Left house at 9:30 this morning and it was 1 pm before I got back with groceries. Whew! What fun is shopping. Do you enjoy it. I used to love it and I guess I really did enjoy it but I was sweating by the time I got home and most everything put up.
Then it was time for lunch and some computer fun. I hope I don't even have to go out to water plants because it is just too hot. Is it hot where you are?
Just so you know, when I was out and about shopping at WalMart and Costco and whatever else I shopped, I was smiling and trying to be nice to everyone. As soon as I get off the Hill, I am going to read my kindle because I have a great Christian series by Liz Isaacson that I am enjoying! I Can't wait to find out what you have been doing.
Just came in from being on patrol outside and can't take another step!
Always on patrol inside.
So, after 3 hours of sermons on TV. What are you doing on this Blessed Sunday? I go to the computer room and visit with friends who make me smile! Thanks for sharing your smile!
Hi Debjo, I hope you have a nice weekend love your page!!
I thought it would be fun to see what people had for a first car.
Now mine I was driving my older brothers car a 53 Plymouth with a 3 speed trasmission on the steering column. My luck though, I wrecked it on day of the night I was to have the lead comedy roll in the High School Junior play. But amazingly I got a ride into town had my hair done and was on stage that night I wasn't hurt at all, can't say the same for the car. In fact for so many reason I could have been Killed. I remember praying as the car was rolling over"God be with me" He sure was the worst I got some stickers in my clothes. The door flung open I had my seat belt on and an old radio that was on the floor flung off and could have hit me in the head it weighted about 50 lbs. If my head hadn't been back looking at the top
of the car praying as I was going over it could have killed me. But as it was all things worked fine. I acted in the play and even went to the cast party afterwards.
But the real first car I had was a 1958 Chevy Biscayne Green and light green. But was that a cool car and I didn't wreck it. Loved that car. I was 16 at the time of the accident and also when I got the 58 Chevy. This was in 1966 So now if you would like to share what was your first car???

Don't sue the forestry service for neglects because they wouldn't allow the fires to be contrained it would be stupid. Just my opinion. But the damage to the enviroment as far as where I live in upstate NY and all across the USA let alone CA. Something needs to be done about this. Again my opinion.
The forestry was turned over to the states and CA didn't have to have all the fires but their states Forstry service said not to put out the firest. They were small and could have been contained easily but They would let the local fire departments put them out and look what happened cleaning the forest floor. and killing people burning up their houses and so on and on and on and on if people in CA don't sue the Forestery

Where oh where did this week go? And in just 10 more days the month will be over! What the heck have I been doing all month and what did I get accomplished?
All I really know is that I have NOT missed a meal. OK, the other thing I know is that the hot temperatures are back! Our dew point has been 76-79 all week. Who was it that said our humidity probably isn't as bad here (DFW) as it is where they live?
Let the weekend begin. Tell me, do you have plans? My plans are to survive all this stuff going on right now. So the party is at our house. Come on over. But don't forget to bring your smile.
We've had rain all week and a few fast moving storms. It did cool us down but by the weekend we're back to the 90's. I've noticed the days are already getting shorter!
We are getting lots of rain... lots! So as I get on my new, fast, beautiful Orange iMac to look for a rain picture... this one comes up... OK, all dressed up... however I am still in my nighty today. Hubby has been to town twice and I have been doing ??? something in here... Oh, I erased the old computer of all my stuff and reinstalled the operating system and it is now ready for my son to pick up.
So I guess this is as dressed up as I will get today since it is already mid afternoon. I can hardly wait to find out what you have been doing. We had several showers the last 3 days. They were all light with no wind or storms and each one was only a tenth or two. Today is pouring down.
So how about we just play dress up? We could show off our fancy clothes to each other. And as some of you know, I really don't cook much. So after we get all dressed up, we will have to get out in the rain to go somewhere to eat and show ourselves off.
So now I'm off to dig through my closet and see if I can find something other than T-shirts and denim. Hubby said as he was leaving a store today, he encountered a Vet with a Service Dog. He told him what a beautiful dog he had. The Vet said thank you. As Hubby noticed his Veteran cap, he said, No, thank you for your service. The Vet said that means a lot, especially today. So again, I ask you to share your smile because you never know what the other person is going through. I hope I put a smile on your face!
Thank you for your note Debijo and yes you are right there are natural disasters that occur in just about every state. I lived in Florida most of my life and went through several hurricanes. Never experienced a tornado thankfully. Yes that must have been so awful last year the fires out there and so many lost so much. I can't even imagine. And one usually gets too much or too little rain in a years time. Good you normally have rains in the spring and hope they return next year. In the meantime praying for rain out your way for sure and for all the brave firefighters. Take care. Jackie
Yippee Yahoo! What a blessed day I am having. My doctor saw the amount of movement I have on the right side of my face above the eye and said he expects 100% movement to be returned within the year. He was very pleased with the healing and that it was benign. I do use a combination of 3 essential oils that I inhale and rub over the right side of my face, ear and neck.
I just finished mowing our 3/4 acre yard and it is beautiful now. I am ready for another shower should it choose to happen to rain right on top of us!
And of course, I am blessed by your friendship. Friends mean the world to me. Doesn't matter how often we text or post or email or call, what matters is in your mind and on your heart. Share your smile always!
