We lost electricity early Monday morning about 2:30 am and went 14 hours without any. At about 36 hours we had only had maybe 5 hours of power. Now we are in rolling blackouts but the entire time we have been able to stay warm. However, a cousin in Arlington has had no electricity since early Monday morning, as do hundreds of thousands of people in Texas. My friend in Alice, near Corpus Christi, not only hasn't had electricity since early Monday morning, but now they have no water as the pumps are out and are supposed to boil water (with no electricity). Needless to say...
Again, we are OK right now. But please keep people all over in your prayers because so many are hurting from pipes bursting and destroying their homes, from homes catching on fire and dying from carbon monoxide poisoning (I think 18 children were admitted yesterday).
Our area has had around 6-8" of snow and most businesses are closed. There are warming stations set up all around. As the power will let me, I will read your messages as they cheer me up.
All hugs are welcomed as they keep me warm. Stay warm and take good care of yourself and check on your neighbors. Blessings & Hugs!

It is hard to believe that Valentine's Day is so close. I hope you have a wonderful day today and everyday and Valentine's too.
How are you doing?
I am so sorry it is been so long since I was on here. I try to come and do comments but seems like, just as I sit down to that very things something is always coming up and I get up and make breakfast, or dinner or something else. Just life. Thank you so much for being my friend and not giving up on me. I am doing fine so far thank goodness. I hope you are too.
I know a lot of you are really cold and have a lot of snow and I pray everyday that you are safe and healthy. Please pray for Texas. Texans do not handle icy conditions at all and they all think they can drive in it. This morning most major highways in DFW are closed somewhere on it due to a fatal wreck. There are areas where people are trapped in their cars and can't get out because of so many cars around them. A report of one person who got out of his car and was hit by a car sliding into him and it killed him. There is an area where 70-100 cars were piled up. I know some of you have this in winter but we just are not used to it in our area. There are 18 wheelers hanging off of bridges. It is so sad.
We have been below freezing for 2 days now. Our next cold front is Friday and we will drop below freezing and stay there for 4-7 days. Single digits are due for a couple of nights. Our pipes are not prepared for this and I worried about so many people out of work being able to afford the electricity. So thank you and please stay safe and warm.
Hi Debijo, thanks for your comment on the Avon. Things are crazy all over aren't they? Good for you sending a letter and making your opinion known. I am sure there are a lot of us who feel the same way. A few of us up here got together and did the same thing , signed with 6 signatures. We haven't heard a thing. 2/of the girls are in President's club so may have some effect on them. I was using the Solutions creams and they really were very good. All of a sudden they were gone. I do have an extra jar in my drawer but it is for night, it's not for day . I have trouble finding a cream now with some SPF in it. Even 20% would do but not finding it. At the moment using oil of Olay for day all the creams they have in there now are way too expensive for me and did you see the perfume in there for over 1300$ I think it was. There isn't even a demo for that. ...hope you are staying safe Debijo, and warm, will get to your other comment soon. Have a good day and do take care. Love and hugs, Moe xx
Me again, forgot to answer your comment on the Avon. I sell very little now and I do agree they have gotten way too expensive. They have also discontinued a lot of products that I used. I always liked the cream to powder foundation and could get it on sale for around 5.00, now you only have one choice and it is more than 20.00. Not paying that so I just found some at the store for 8.00. They keep coming out with more expensive products on everything. I sent them an e-mail awhile back stating my disappointment in the pricing and the fact they are discontinuing a lot of products that my customers as well as myself liked. Their response was they were trying to keep up with marketing and competition. Well, news flash for them, Avon has been known for good product and low prices for many many years. That is why they have always done good business. The way things are going I think they will lose a lot of customers due to the fact they will be able to get similar products that are less expensive elsewhere. At least they still carry the Anew facial cream for a resonable price. Can still get it on sale for 23.00. I use that all the time. Once they discontinue that or hike the price way up I will just go back to using Oil of Olay, which is what I used before I started using and selling Avon. And when that time comes I will probably quit selling it as well. The main reason I am still selling is to get a discount on what I do use from them. Anyway, enough of my rant. Will be in touch again soon... hugs, debijo
Busy week for me. Yesterday hubby and I started a project and 5 hours later we were at a stopping point, so we quit for the day. Today, Ole Man Winter surprised us 12-15 hours early. So we had to bring in plants, throw the plastic over some and cover others. Then we had to go to drop off our tax information and thanks to "illness in that area," for the first time ever, we couldn't wait while she did them, sign them, pay for them and be done. So who knows when we will hear from her and get our refund. After we picked up an order at the Vitamin Shoppe we came home with our WhatABurger taquitos. Several hours later, after researching Mac programs equivalent to Windows programs because some Windows programs don't work on iOS, I finally gave up and decided I had better get here to see what you have been doing.
Are you decorating for winter? Or has winter decorated for you already? I know that it will probably get us once or twice in the next 7-10 days. Do you ever feel like this?
I do believe this is how our area handles everything nowadays. Just don't forget our pets and feathered friends. Blessings & Hugs!
