Freedom Riders 50th Anniversary
Posted On 05/07/2011 11:52:20 by TouchedPainter
We are in the middle of a 50 year old historic epic that quite literally changed the U. S. A. forever. Who knows what America would be like today, if not for the brave kids of the freedom Ride? Segregation (whites only &/or blacks only) on busses, drinking fountains, waiting rooms, restaurants, public restrooms, etc., had been outlawed. But the South not only refused to abide by the law, some people of the South expounded on the racial discrimination, with far more severe violence/murde... Read More

Students' Status Statements Stifled
Posted On 03/11/2011 12:16:24 by Yanaba
Last night, I finished watching a new episode of "Bones".  The Atlanta news came on next.  I was busy on the computer so I did not get up to change the channel.  The lead story caught my attention.  It seems three students in Douglas County recently got in trouble at school because of status comments they posted on Facebook.

What September 11th Means To Me
Posted On 09/11/2009 00:28:20 by Roselynn
As we move into the 8th anniversary of the most tragic thing that has happened in my lifetime, I am reminded of that September morning when the world seemed to collapse all around our mighty nation. Fear gripped the hearts of our neighbors as we tried to understand the madness behind such a cowardly act. Terrorism was a word that was now added to our everyday lives. Sure, we had seen it before, even here on our homeland, but NEVER, as we saw it that day. I awoke that morning to hear that my co... Read More

Leadership, Fulfillment & Freedom
Posted On 07/25/2009 19:35:37 by Roselynn
I have spent the day at a Leadership Conference at my church. It was very informative and quiet interesting. I learned that I have much room to grow before I am ready to complete all of the tasks that God has planned for me. My son tried to call but alas as I was at church I had my phone turned down and did not hear it. I missed his call. He spoke to his dad for a minute and NO the mail still has not arrived. Nothing in over a month now. I was heartsick to hear this. I am still waiting to he... Read More

DUST IN THE WIND
Posted On 05/16/2009 22:57:42 by Roselynn
Today was not to bad.  We did not watch the news so we have no idea what is happening in the world. It was just us here in our own little world today. Well that and a few relatives.   Had to get firm with my mom about the graduation events. She was trying to tell me how to run my household. I listened until I screamed and threw the phone. I was so mad. She still thinks I am two years old and she knows what is best for me. I tried and tried to reason with her but it was her way or the... Read More
