We have a forum you can post pictures, recipes or jokes you want to share; these are not considered blogs and will be removed. On the other hand, for example, a recipe with a story about a recipe that has special meaning would be fine. Greetings to others, thank you's, etc. are not considered blogs and will be removed.

Friends who have left this life
Posted On 07/17/2023 16:09:18 by Swanlady
I have in the last month checked on friends I have not heard from in a while. So many of them have passed from our lives. I have been a member since 2008 and there was a period of my life that I was not able to spend time on the Hill because of my illness and my husbands illness and death, but you know some thing, so many of my friends continued to send me greetings every day. I would be off line for weeks at a time but the messages would be there when I was able to be ON The Hill to read them.O... Read More

My late husband, Ray, known to his friends, clients, and colleges as “Doc” was a psychologist by trade. One of his doctorates however was in religion. He did not have a denominational church, but did teach Christian philosophy to a small group.Ray and I had only been married about two years, but his tradition of going to downtown Dallas and picking up homeless people for the holidays had continued. We would rent a bus (school bus) and bring back homeless people for a Christmas prayer meeting... Read More

My Last Fishing Trip
Posted On 02/06/2020 06:41:38 by texasjane
Ray and I had been married for about three years. Every Friday evening when he closed his clinic in North Dallas he would say, "I forgot the "Gone Fishin'"sign."  I was ready for him. I had created one and surprised him with it."You have been promising to take me fishing for 3 years now. Don't you think it is time you did it." Yes, that is what I said. How did I know that my next fishing trip would be my last.Ray, grinned from ear to ear and his eyes twinkled. He agreed immediately. "We wil... Read More
