Jan 2010 The summer months, and especially January and February are especially busy for me. The whole Nelson region is humming throughout peak summertime with events of all kinds. End of year staff picnics, Christmas events, summer Agricultural shows, Festivals, Craft Markets Art Exhibitions - you name it - it probably happens. Boy! It was sure a hummer around here yesterday! Three more squirrels have a new home. Caught the Cardinal and Jay Jay again..released no harm, no foul. Caught Chippie at least three times..He'll never learn, or maybe he just figures that's the cost of a free peanut! Picked four and a half quarts of Red Currants..now made into jelly for winter. The sky to the east is resplendant, with gold, rose and mauve backlighting the trees, and the avian chorus has just begun with Cardinal providing the aria this morning. It's a fresh clear morning and we're finally going to get some heat. Yippee! It's off to the berry patch today for me. Can't be wasting a day like this one inside. What a beautiful sunrise to the east this morning. The sun is a great crimson orb hovering just above the horizon. The morning chorus was loud and clear today, with the aria provided by the Cedar Waxwing. Heard him yesterday too and headed for the Red Currant bush..too late!
