BLOGS: A blog, simply put, is something you have written, or written about.

We have a forum you can post pictures, recipes or jokes you want to share; these are not considered blogs and will be removed. On the other hand, for example, a recipe with a story about a recipe that has special meaning would be fine. Greetings to others, thank you's, etc. are not considered blogs and will be removed.

What Would You Do With A 'Time-Out?'
Posted On 08/02/2020 17:46:59 by yourchoice
With all the reading that I’ve been doing this past few weeks, I have been tempted to revert back to ‘the way things were’ before the global endemic has tried to stop us in our tracks. There was always some place that I wanted to go, someone to visit, do some travelling, go shopping, etc.  The media tells us to ‘carry on’ and follow the rules, don’t worry, we’ll get through this, or they tell us that it’s going to get worse, no matter what we do. I don’t want to hear the n... Read More

Living without it
Posted On 05/11/2020 07:08:17 by texasjane
I was reading the paper this morning about a guy I knew when he was eight years old. He was Brenda Somebody's boy friend and I thought I could not live without him. He was adorable. Brenda and I had been good friends until then. Looking at the picture of this short, fat, bald man did not remind me of the boy who could twirl a basket ball on his finger. We are having World War III. It has landed in 157 countries. An invisible enemy to the entire world.Yet... everyone is talking about when this is all over. We know we will win. We know everyday the sun comes up that might be the day when the we produce the cure and put it to work.  We are pulling together ... all over the world.  I think it was time to put aside our differences and pull together for the sack of humanity but it took a little bug to do it. You know every night when... Profitable Home Project
Posted On 03/27/2020 23:49:57 by texasjane
I was recently reminded of a time when an old hobby could bring new blessings.  I used to collect all sorts of things when I was a kid. Barbie dolls, baseball cards, miniature anything, etc.  My mom boxed up all that stuff years ago and stuck it in the attic.  I had long since forgotten about it.  When I decided to sell my big house and move into a smaller one, (not a task for the faint of heart), I came across several boxes.  I did not take the time to go through them,... Surprise Help
Posted On 03/27/2020 18:25:28 by texasjane
Let me start out this blog by saying I am so glad to be inside where no one can offer to help me.  Yes, re read the last sentence.. That is what I said to myself one day.. just last week.  I spent an entire hour trying not to get help.It all started when I went out to get my mail.  My house fronts out to a major highway and is across the street from a rest stop for truck drivers.  Huge rigs park while the drivers rest or sleep.  I went out my front door and headed across...
