We have a forum you can post pictures, recipes or jokes you want to share; these are not considered blogs and will be removed. On the other hand, for example, a recipe with a story about a recipe that has special meaning would be fine. Greetings to others, thank you's, etc. are not considered blogs and will be removed.

Grandmother's Are Special
Posted On 02/25/2020 08:48:16 by texasjane
I retired from teaching children with special needs but once in a while someone asks for my help. This is about one such case.

A little girl had suddenly stopped talking.  Months had gone by and she had not uttered a word.  She had been in the car when her grandmother, sitting right beside her, patted her on the hand, kissed her cheek and slumped... Read More

Who Is Watching Your Retirement
Posted On 02/24/2020 09:44:38 by texasjane
I know too many details can bore you dear reader, but they are important to this story.  I promise these events really did occur.     Having to go on disability forced me into foreclosure on my home and led me to this wonderful spot on the lake.  My first day was very busy.  I had spent the morning packing and issuing orders to the movers and getting my van loaded with breakable items along with four dogs and a cat.  The movers were to follow me to t... The church board was headed by a noble woman named Gladys who thought it was her duty to make sure the Christmas in July pageant went off without a hitch.July in Texas is hot. Poor Gladys was from Nebraska so poor dear, she just did not understand. She had theatrical experience and just knew we could put on a great show. We finally got her to agree no one had to ware red wool anything.Auditions were held and several of t... Read More

Sun Rises and Sunsets
Posted On 02/21/2020 01:02:08 by texasjane
No matter where you are in the world the sunsets and sunrises are beautiful. God opens and closes each day with the orange (the color for compassion), pink (the color for love), white (the color for purity), purple (the color for principal or royalty), green (the color for sharing) and blue (the color for truth), and yellow (the color for knowledge or gold for the crown he wears). I forgot to add the color red which is the color for action. These are the colors and the qualities he gave each of h... Read More
