Amadeus was my all time favorite. Also way up there, To Kill A Mocking Bird, You've Got Mail, Chicago, Ray, Runaway Jury. Then there's Mr Holland's Opus, another great flick. List still growing. Most will be older movies since I haven't found anything in the 'newer' bunch to rave about. Seems like they can't just tell an interesting story any more, they feel the need to get weird, each one trying to outdo the last in weirdness.
MUSIC
First love is Classical, right now Brahms Symphonies.
But then I also like Country, and I LOVE any and all of ABBA. Another developing list.
BOOKS
To Kill A Mockingbird...both the book and the movie are great.
Cider House Rules...again, must see the movie as well as read the book to most appreciate.
MY FAVORITE COLOR
Hmmmm...hard to choose just one. I love all the colors of Spring, and clear blue skies, to name a few.
Red Sockeye Salmon...yummm!!!
Of course chocolate is a great health food too.
Don't care much for Thanksgiving turkey except I do love the stuffing.
I can eat good Mexican food any time. Dieting is not my favorite food.
The One You Feed
An old Cherokee was teaching his grandchildren about life. He said to them, "A battle is raging inside me ... it is a terrible fight between two wolves. One wolf represents fear, anger, envy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority and ego. The other stands for joy, peace, love, hope, sharing, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, friendship, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion and faith."
The old man fixed the children with a firm stare. "This same fight is going on inside you, and inside every other person, too."
They thought about it for a minute and then one child asked his grandfather, "Which wolf will win?"
Please know that I do read bulletins and messages even though I'm quite slow in replying. I truly enjoy and feel close to my friends on The Hill, but most of the time I'm a 'lurker'.
I was an "Army Brat", moved all about the country until finally getting to stay 4 years in one place, Chillicothe MO for high school.
After that I spent one year at college before entering Nursing School in Buffalo NY.
Married, lived in Upstate NY, and had 4 kids...1 boy, 3 girls.
Divorced 10 years later and spent 17 years as a single Mom working as an RN in many different places...4 different places in NY, Arkansas, then settled down in Denver, CO, until my retirement in 1997.
Finally met a soul mate, we married in '98, and moved to the Western Slope of CO. Together we have 7 kids and 12 grandkids scattered about.
Due to a physical need to be at a lower elevation we moved here to the Methow Valley in north central WA...the DRY side of the mountains...in 2002.
That's about it. Hard to believe our 50th HS Reunion happened in June! It was a blast!!
How time flies when you're having fun!!

Continuing on..

Cloudeight homepage and newsletters.
I prize my peace and quiet.
Folks with a great sense of humor.
I guess I love life and adventure, as a whole
WHAT I DON'T LIKE
Whiners, negative people, judgemental people. Snow, constant rain (those are on the other side of the Cascades from us, not here)
TV (or any incessant racket that disturbs the peace), telephones ringing.
Since I retired from nursing I can easily just let a phone ring off the hook before I'll answer it. I think that was a little PTSD.
HOBBIES
camping, geocaching, crocheting, sewing, photography, internet, scrapbooking. Lately I've gotten addicted to Sudoku.
My newest hobby is stitching cards (embroidery on paper).
