BLOGS: A blog, simply put, is something you have written, or written about.
We have a forum you can post pictures, recipes or jokes you want to share; these are not considered blogs and will be removed. On the other hand, for example, a recipe with a story about a recipe that has special meaning would be fine. Greetings to others, thank you's, etc. are not considered blogs and will be removed.

When it comes time for me to think about a topic for my next blog in this A to Z Challenge, I often get out old photograph albums for some ideas. I love to read blogs written by others who write about their experiences, both current and in times past. I'm hoping that Barb (kiwibarb) will write to tell us how they celebrate Christmas without snow, and what Santa wears and travels in when it is hot outside. I'd love to visit New Zealand, but so far, that destination is still on our 'bucket list'.N... Read More

We would celebrate the end of exam week, the end of a night shift, the end of a happy date, and not to mention anyone's birthday (no cake available, but we had a great supply of cinnamon toast decked with at least one wooden match). Any of us could expect to come home after a day off and find a note taped on our door, asking, "Did you bring back anyth... Read More
The piece in which Dominis’ photos appeared — an extraordinary 12-page feature in the Jan. 31, 1964, issue of LIFE, titled “The Valley of Poverty” — was one of the very first substantive reports in any American publication on President Lyndon Johnson’s nascent “war on poverty.” At the time, LIFE was arguably the most influential weekly magazine in the country, and without doubt the most widely read magazine anywhere to regularly publish major photo essays by the world...
