There Is Someone At The Door
Posted On 02/15/2020 16:39:49 by texasjane
I got a call late last night that the Chief of Police would be coming by to see me this morning.  I had a hunch it would involve someone who needed my help.  Now, you must understand... I do not have a door bell.  Anyone who is coming to see me must call first.  If I am in the back of the house I cannot hear if someone is at the front door.  I am not hard of hearing but the TV is usually going or I have music playing.  If I know someone is coming, I unlock the front... Hamlet Gets Arrested
Posted On 02/13/2020 13:17:18 by texasjane

Dirt all over his face and body.  Like a common criminal.  The officer knew exactly where this young man belonged.  It all started when a neighbor decided to also get a pot bellied pig.  I think it was more curiosity than it was jealousy.

A Christmas Prayer Meeting
Posted On 02/06/2020 06:43:35 by texasjane
My late husband, Ray, known to his friends, clients, and colleges as “Doc” was a psychologist by trade. One of his doctorates however was in religion. He did not have a denominational church, but did teach Christian philosophy to a small group.Ray and I had only been married about two years, but his tradition of going to downtown Dallas and picking up homeless people for the holidays had continued. We would rent a bus (school bus) and bring back homeless people for a Christmas prayer meeting... Read More

Turn Around and What If
Posted On 02/04/2020 05:29:30 by texasjane
Please pay attention, dear reader. The characters in this story can get confusing to anyone who was not actually there.A very dear friend of mine, named Bertha, also lived at the lake and also loved animals; had an odd habit. She loved to give her pets odd names. She had one black lab she called Turn Around. Basically, because it was her grand daughter's idea on account of the fact every time you turned around the dog was there. She followed Bertha every where. If she got out it got interesting....
